Rattle your drums âż~
hello!! you can call me Rune !! (or something from my URL if you really want)
I'm a 22yo, trans, self-taught digital artist! my art's inspired by anime & semi-realism, and one day i will learn how to draw furries and animals
below this penetrable wall of pink flowers is a brief directory (link to my main & my nuca OC directory. unfortunately only euri is updated & added lol) and a summmary of what this blog is mainly about!
âżâżâżâżâżâżâż âżâżâżâżâżâżâż âżâżâżâżâżâżâż
âż Before you follow me . . . !!
i'd like to emphasize this: i love OCs. I love fanon, i love headcanons; canon is a blank wood block & and i am a chisel
this blog is also dedicated to NSFW. i'm using it mostly for NU:Carnival (and thats what it was originally made for), but it's also probably going to eventually have posts that are just NSFW in general (if i see any im interested in. so far, thats probably gonna be (maybe) some oc stuff, (obviously) nu:carnival and maybe hoyoverse stuff (im looking directly at boothill. and jing yuan. and )
âż anyways! here's my directory.
⊠Navigation ~~
⧠đ NU:C(h)a(racter) Directory âŽ
since i know tumblr blogs dont always work great on mobile, hopefully this is mobile-friendly enough ? i'd like to sort a toyhou.se out down the line, but i have lots of other stuff i want to do first, so this'll have to do for now!!
⊠đ Main âŽ
i nuked my hoyo blog and decided i'd rather use my main to house both whatever stupid shit i say & my other interests that are not nsfw! so if you like hoyoverse, or pokemon, or zelda, or modern fantasy, or furries, or... umm, sanrio, or demihumans, and... i dont know, probably a lot of other things. anime, etc. anyways! i have that sort of stuff over there. i also draw lots of art & have a lot of OCs, so you'll see that too!
anyway, keep creating,
& keep rattling your drums âż !!
#pinned post#intro post#âż cleaned this up. i will probably do this sporadically over months#because the person is never stagnant#is my rattle drum bit cute. since euris all about festivals. and rattle drums are a toy at festivals lots of times. nudge nudge. giggle.#hopeful twinkle of the eye

How do you think Minho would be when's he's crushing on someone? I see a lot of people saying he'll be all flirty and go for it, but personally, I think he'll be a cute mess. Have you seen him with Han? He'll be so shy and most likely admire from afar. He won't act on it immediately, and he'll be so obvious about it that even you would know

Hello @lyramundana !
I have your Bang Chan request saved in my drafts and I will get around to it eventually...I promise you it will be published eventually.
Lee Know is a bit tricky because his personality when he speaks English is a lot different to when he speaks Korean so I guess it would depend on the fluency of the other person I suppose.
His Scorpio stellium indicates he's very good at playing poker face so he's probably the type that could be PINING for you for YEARS and never notice.
The second-lead 'I confessed too late' type of piner.
I feel like he would be the type to send you teasing text messages or a quick 'have you eaten dinner?' text before flirting with you in person.
I'm not sure if it's true or not but I would love...LURRRRVE IT if Lee Know's way of catching the eye of a person he was interested is...
'Hey, do you want to see this cute thing my cat did? He doesn't do this a lot but I think it's funny so I thought I'd show you'.
Or he might make you pudding randomly and shrug nonchalantly about it and say...
'Oh, I just had some extra and thought you might want some'.
Even though he spent an hour making it.

Me normally: Let people love what they love
Me, after a Test Match Special commentator expresses their belief that the new All Creatures Great and Small is somehow "better" than the 1978 version: This is pure insanity and TMS can no longer be trusted on anything, how can they even be trusted to know about cricket, do they have no TASTE
#Look it's fine that this show exists and people will watch it and like it and that's ok maybe it's just not for me#But that was like a statement purely designed to piss me off#There were lots of issues with the 1978 adaptation! I still vastly preferred the books any day!#And I actually initially had high hopes for the new one because they at least cast a Scot (albeit a Highlander not a Clydesider) as James#And the actors at least looked a little bit younger than Christopher Timothy and Robert Hardy#And thank god Helen actually sounds like she's a farmer's daughter and doesn't speak RP!#But from the half hour I've seen of it I've had to write off this new adaptation#For two major reasons#First of all there's Siegfried#Siegfried is one of the key central aspects of the vibe of the books and therefore key to any adaptation#Robert Hardy was too short and too old for the part but he lived and breathed the character#The twinkle in the eye bouncing off the walls and in and out of rooms followed by half a dozen dogs utterly full of life even when angry#But this new Siegfried is just sort of... Eeyore-esque; he comes into a room and you can see the flowers droop and the set turn grey#Siegfried was angry Siegfried was happy and the historical character he was based on was no stranger to melancholy#Since Donald Sinclair did commit suicide or rather self-euthanasia after Alf Wight and his own wife Audrey died#But this slow grumbly figure in the new adaptation is not Siegfried Farnon- the book character didn't grumble more often he exploded#And why did the adaptation give him a dead wife that's so weird? What could that possibly add to the source material?#And this brings me onto my second problem which is to do with women and age#Firstly I have no idea why they aged down Mrs Hall or at least made her look younger than a woman her age would have back then#But what really drove me mad was when Heriot goes out to see some old woman hill farmer in the episode I saw#And this woman is far too clean and young-looking and you can see that she's wearing 'natural' look make-up#And a perfect set of clothes that looked like they were straight out of the House of Bruar autumn collection catalogue#Say what you like about the 1978 adaptation but old women looked like old women regardless of whether or not they wore make-up#It may be that the better quality of television screens means that the 'natural look' shows up on screen more clearly than it would have#But natural look make-up was not really a thing in the 1930s and for old women Yorkshire hill farmers I doubt they'd have much on at all#They just don't seem to be capable of allowing people to look old and wrinkled and real or have bad teeth or unattractive clothes#And everything is far too tidy- everybody looks far too perfectly country and quaint#Anyway the moral of this story is of course that I always recommend reading the books because they're much better#than any tv adaptation; but if forced to choose at least the 1970s one felt real and yet didn't have to be grim either#Ok that's my rant over please do feel free to enjoy the show I just got annoyed because the opinion was expressed on TMS

do you guys know that video of the very very southern man comforting his dog after he threw up in his truck. im not great with accents but i think he's from louisiana bc he sounds a bit like my grandpa. i miss him...
#he was from new orleans (as was my grandma) so i always associate that accent with them#and that video's so sweet and i uh. get really affected by people comforting others like that. makes me feel very fragile#it's not something he really had the opportunity to do (in such a direct way) but it's also not something anyone did with me much.#some of the feeling is there though. it feels like being his grandkid. like being around him.#anyway he was witty and kind and sweet and i just. he was a weirdo and i miss him. i don't think i do that enough.#and hey he was a bisexual old man you guys would've loved him#i wish i'd told him i was a dyke. i thought i'd have more time y'know. i hope he didn't feel alone in that. his brother died of AIDS.#my mom told me before he told us so he was my queer family when i didn't know i had any. but i don't think he ever knew i was his too.#never met anybody who embodied the phrase 'twinkle in his eye' more in my life and i don't know if i will. love you man <3

A/N. Hope yâall have a lovely week hehe <3
âDamnâŠâ you sigh at the glaringly empty drawer, rubbing your eyes as if that would make a difference - maybe even magically materialize a fresh pair of panties in front of you. âItâs the second time this month.â
Or was it the third?
But, alas, standing around in your bedroom on a Sunday night does not give you the answers. Or any extra underwear.
Which is why you find yourself making a beeline for the bathroom - teeth gritted, stomach flipping at how very, very exposed you felt underneath the thin fabric of your shorts. Cursing everything from the buildingâs rundown old washing machine to Gojoâs stupid smile when he took away your laundry basket.
You couldâve sworn you saw your last pair perched right on top of your pile of old clothes, all flimsy and an obscene red that stood out amongst everything else.Â
Seriously, how hard would it have been to lose that thing? Maybe you could bother him into buying a new washing machine for-
âWoah there-â Before you know it, youâre crashing face-first into a wall? Pillows? Gojo - unfairly shirtless. âNow, whatâs got your panties in a twist, sweetheart?â
The lack thereof.Â
Maybe because you canât say that, maybe because of what looks - feels - like miles upon miles of milky, sculpted skin, youâre instead settling for an extremely eloquent, âNothing I uh-â But whatever excuse catches in your chest as you raise your face - still smushed between two large pecs - up, up, up and-
Oh.Â
Itâs not like youâre seeing something new - far from it, actually, unfortunately for your poor heart.
And at first, youâd thought it was some strange habit - hell, maybe the guy just didnât like t-shirts. But it was around the fourth or fifth time heâd forgone one that you realized Gojo Satoru was just a tease. A no-good, insufferably smug tease that just loved to catch you ogling him.Â
But, well, at least the rent was cheap.
Though, you werenât exactly complaining about the view eitherâŠ
Because lo and behold stood the infamous campus sweetheart - you knew about fourteen people whoâd kill to see this exact sight. Gojoâs cloudy hair tousled, tiny droplets of water twinkling like diamonds against the bathroom light. Bouncing off his rippling abs, his strong arms circling your waist to stop you from falling backwards. Holding you too fucking close against the white towel slung low on his hips. His skin damp, smelling so delicious-
âGojo, did you use my body lotion?âÂ
âAwwwââ he whines, finally releasing his grip on you. âYou were supposed to admire me some more.â
You scoff, eyes darting over broad shoulders - partially to search for your laundry basket, partially because you really couldnât handle looking right at a shirtless Gojo Satoru any longer. âAs if. Get out if youâre done.â
âDamn, woman. Feisty.â Gojo lets out a deep chuckle - smooth and cocky - when youâre hastily shoving him away from the doorframe. âIf you wanted to put your hands on me that bad then you jusâ hafta ask, yâknow~â
It was way too late for this.Â
âHilarious.â you deadpan, though you let go of where you were gripping Gojoâs arm like it burned. Immediately stepping behind the bathroom door before he could make you lose whateverâs left of your sanity, âNext time you hog the bathroom mâgonna smash those ugly new sunglasses of yours.â
Heâs pressing his foot between that gap in the door to stop you from closing it, âOi, donât think I donât see that glint in your eyes, sweetheart.â Yeah, the glint in your eyes that told you if looks could kill then Gojo would be six feet under already. Which only makes him grin wider, âYouâre telling me you really werenât checkinâ out the most sought-after man on campus jusâ now?â
Huffing in frustration, you cross your arms, âI donât see Geto Suguru anywhere.â
â...you take that back right now. Iâm the pretty best friend.â
âAm not.â
âAm too.â
âAm not. Isnât that why youâre still single?â
âTh-thatâs not- fuckinâ Suguru? Really? Most people would kill for a look of this-â Gojo gestures at his bare torso, and once more youâre reminded that those absolutely awful protein shakes he makes every morning arenât just for show. â-and youâre getting it daily.â
You reach out a hand, Gojo chest hot underneath your touch. He seizes up instantly, ears tinging red as you muse, âYeah.â Only to push him fully out the doorway, âI just wish youâd shut up daily, too.â
With that, youâre shutting the door with a resounding slam! Feeling only slightly guilty until you hear Gojoâs squawks of protest from outside, âI really donât know whatâs got your panties in a twist.â
Right. Panties.
Something just a tad more important than recounting exactly how many abs Gojo Satoru had.
You let out a shuddering breath, clamoring to find that spare laundry basket youâd forgotten in here earlier today. Shuffling through through the soft clothes, hoping, praying to find-
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.Â
Fuck.Â
Somehow, youâre hiding away your body lotion that night.
---
âNow, listen here, sweetheart. I know you look fuckinâ gorgeous in everything but-â
âSatoru.â
âBut that-â he whirls around, pointing a long finger accusingly at the boxers youâd improvised into sleep shorts. Spitting venomously, â-that I cannot allow.â
Youâre rolling your eyes at your roommateâs theatrics, forking through your pancakes while he monologues to himself more than you. âWhy does it even matter? It was just for yesterday.â you mutter. âI didnât have any clean uh- panties for the night nâ this worked.â
Thankfully, since the fresh laundry this morning, youâd found two more of your panties - courtesy of a very smug Gojo handing off your clothes. Ah, it felt like the universe itself was smiling down on you.
But oh if you thought the great Gojo Satoru was having a breakdown before then you werenât prepared for when you lifted your gaze off the kitchen table. Only to meet his - eyes wide, a pretty pink blush coloring his cheeks, lips gawking and stuttering around what looked like a silent, âP-panties-â
You raise a brow, âWhatâs got you this worked up, Gojo?â
âNothing.â he clears his throat, âAbsolutely nothing at all. Panties? I love- er, wait no-â
âB-besides-â you bristle at the way his heavy gaze was now turning to flit between your face and down below. Dangerously. âTheyâre not even yours so I donât know why it matters.â
This seems to snap him out of his little reverie, and heâs immediately standing up straighter, brows furrowing. He continues, in a much more serious tone than before, âTheyâre his?âÂ
You stab your breakfast with a bit too much vitriol than necessary, looking at Gojo with narrowed eyes, âIf you mean the one my ex left behind then yes. Who else?â
Your ex wasnât good for much - and Gojo seemed especially hostile towards him because of his distaste for your little living situation. But, hey, at least the guy was helping you out at this time. Albeit unknowingly.Â
Heâs raising his hands in mock-surrender, shuffling back into the kitchen to work on the rest of those âworld famousâ Gojo pancakes. âNothing nothing.â he hums, and maybe it was how sleep-deprived you were - running on a few too many assignments due today and a few too little panties - but you think Gojoâs voice has a bit more bite to it than usual. Jaw clenching as he plows on, âOf course that fucker- in my- our apartment, too. Fuck-â
A spatula is suddenly mere inches from your face, Gojo brandishing it in front of you like a weapon as he declares, âWeâre going panty-shopping after Yagaâs lecture today.â
âGojo, I-â
âWe-â he cuts you off, delicately placing another pancake on your plate - a little truce. So close now that it reminds you of last night - you could feel his minty breath on your face, count every long, sultry eyelash of his. â-are going panty-shopping after Yagaâs lecture nâ Iâm paying. Thatâs final.â
And of course, in true Gojo fashion, you can barely get a word out before heâd immediately ducking out of the kitchen. You almost let your lips curl into a smile, hit with a sudden wave of endearment as you hear Gojoâs long legs padding urgently down the hallway to God-knows-where. Maybe he did know when to be-
Smack!
You jolt as youâre hit with a pair of boxers - fresh ones, thankfully, that you recognized from all the clothes youâd rummaged through last night - plopped unceremoniously onto your lap. Jaw dropping in disbelief when you look up to meet Gojoâs devilish grin.Â
âNext time-â he winks, motioning at the fabric you were poking in concern now. â-wear mine.â
The talk of Yagaâs lecture hall that morning was of a pair of burned boxers found right outside your building, everyone speculating what the poor guy had done to have his presumed girlfriend make an example of it like that.Â
For you, however, the only thing running through your mind was whether or not you could count properly.
Because surely you remembered it correctly when you counted two new underwear this morning - that gauzy black one and the deep red? Two. Definitely not the singular, sad piece of red fabric laying on your bed after breakfast today? Two. The only one you could find even after scouring through your whole bedroom.Â
So where the fuck had that other one gone?

Do not answer (roomie)đ§żđ§ż: Hurry up ive been lurking inside that lingerie shop ya told me you liked nâ now the old ladies here look like they wanna eat me alive (Âș ⥠Âș l|l)/
im boooored, gonna stand still nâ start blending in with these mannequins if you dont hurry up istg
Hurry
HURRY
HURRY THEY THINK IM SUSPICIOUS
PLEASE THEYRE GONNA ESCORT ME OUT
âŹâŽâŹâŽâ€ïœ„Ï)ïŸ i literally SEE YOU outsideÂ
BITCH STOP LAUGHING-
No sooner are you letting out a cackle at Gojoâs rapid-fire texts, youâre looking up to see the man himself being walked outside by two security guards. Squabbling heatedly in a way that had them heaving out long sighs - which, honestly, you felt a stab of relatable empathy for.
â-I swear Iâm not a creep Iâm jusâ-â Gojoâs bickering dies on his tongue as he catches the sight of you walking closer to the commotion. Closer. Taking your sweet sweet time, eyes just barely glazing over him before- youâre walking away. âHey!â he calls out, stopping you in your tracks. âNow, donât you dare-â Before turning back to his wary escorts, âIâm with her.â
They exchange a look between each other, and no matter how much youâd like to pretend the scene had absolutely nothing to do with you - youâd rather Gojo doesnât get banned from the mall altogether.Â
âHeâs right.â you drone out, one hand grabbing Gojoâs, the other forcing his head into an apologetic bow. Hissing to the side so that only he would hear, âUnfortunately.â
The two security guards now seem more amused than anything at your strange dynamic. One of them raises a brow, muttering, âWellâŠthis oneâs certainly a handful.â Turning around to head back to their stations, âYa better keep a tight leash on your boyfriend.â
You sputter, eyes wide, âOh- heâs not-â
But itâs too late - theyâre both swiftly out of earshot, most likely more than happy to hand over the public nuisance off to you. And Gojoâs looking to you with a smug smirk, voice dropping about an octave deeper as he breathes against your ear, âSo, gonna take your boyfriend to help out with lingerie shopping, sweetheart?â
Oh. God.Â
This was going to be one long day.
âIâm only here because another one of mine disappeared, yâknow.â you hiss, rifling through all the options before you. âWhich really has me wondering why-â
âH-hey! How about this one?â Gojo interrupts, shoving a lacy set right in front of your face, his voice just a bit louder than what was appropriate.Â
You sigh, catching the eyes of a few disapproving older women around you. âNo this is-â But running a thumb over the fabric makes you bite back an insult. And for all how brash Gojo was, maybe his panty selection wasnât awful. It was a flimsy little thing, gauzy and light blue - the type youâd typically wear on a night out. You meet his boyish grin, admitting, â...not bad.â
âSee?â he laughs - eyes glinting with delight as he piles on a few more in your basket. âNâ if youâre impressed with that then youâre gonna be proposing to me when you realize itâs exactly your size-â
You quirk a brow, âHow do you know my size, Gojo?â
And this makes his body stiffen, large shoulders squaring up, throat bobbing as he answers,âUh? Experience?â
Oh, right. Youâre rolling your eyes, fighting off a weird little stab of irritation. This probably isnât the first time heâs come here with a girl, anyway.Â
And yet, despite however much of an alleged âcatchâ Gojo was, heâd - perhaps mercifully - never brought anyone over. You donât know why, but you didnât really want to question it.
âA-anyway.â Gojoâs airy voice cuts through your thoughts. And heâs plucking up a few more sets of lingerie for you to sort through, âCanât let these one, two, three- six lovely lilâ things go to waste now, can we?â At your look of confusion, he chuckles, guiding the two of you to the counter now. âSuguruâs holding a party at his place tonight, how would you like to do the honors of being my cute plus one?â
âIâd rather go with Yaga.â
Though, you really canât say no - not when Gojoâs flashing you that black card as he pays for everything in an instant. Not when all he can prattle about on the way home is how gorgeous youâd look together at Getoâs party - how youâll have to beat everyone off of him with a stick (to which you reply that youâd no sooner do that than beat him with a stick.)
Not when he sits outside your bedroom door as you get ready later that night. Insisting on keeping you company even as you slip out of your towel. Looking over your shoulder to make sure he wasnât peeking in before eagerly turning to grab at one of your new set of silky white panties- only, they werenât there.
Strange.Â
âHey, GojoâŠâ you call out, looking underneath your blankets for where you mightâve thrown them about after trying them on. Under your bed, in your drawers, anywhere. â-didnât we buy six sets?â
âHuh? Dunno, I didnât count. Just wear the blue one.â he whines, ushering you to hurry up from outside. Face burning because shit, this was you and you were inside - still wrapped up in only that sinful little towel. Oh, would the painful death really be worth it if he happened to accidentally look around? âSâpretty and yâknow what else?â
Your voice was muffled as you hastily put on your clothes, âWhat?â
âIt matches my eyes.â
Really strange.
---
Thankfully for Gojo, you didnât go with Yaga to the party - nor did you find your lost pair of panties, sadly, but that wasnât too much of a concern for him.Â
And here he was - one hurried Uber ride and about several billion death threats from you later. Wishing that youâd actually just acted on one of them because fuck at least then he wouldnât have to be watching from across the room as some bastard from the university basketball team tried to chat you up.
Gojo canât even hear the way the girls surrounding him were giggling about something or the other, alcohol making his tongue a little heavier, eyes a bit glassier.Â
Nothing like the way that other man was drinking in that polite smile on your face. Tilting your head to face forwards and- God, why wonât you just look at him instead?
Would that guy still look at you that way if he knew you were wearing lingerie matching his eyes right now?
âNot gonna entertain your fans?â Getoâs voice rings through his whirlwind thoughts, eyeing down the forgotten crowd in amusement.
âWhen have I ever?â Gojo runs a hand through his hair in frustration.Â
He lets out a knowing laugh, âYeah, you little vir-â Turning into a coughing fit when Gojo elbows his best friend straight in his stomach. âAnyways.â Geto gestures with his drink in your direction, as if Gojo hadnât seen - as if it wasnât the only thing on his mind right now. âWell, your lilâ roomie there seems to be popular, too, huh? Star player of the basketball team nâ all.Â
He clicks his tongue, slumping further against the thumping wall. âSo? Iâm taller, and more handsome.â
âAre you sure âbout that?â
âY-yeah?â he sputters.Â
âWell then why arenât you over there with her?â Geto hums, lips curling. âLooks tâme like even she doesnât like him that much so whyâre you being a pussy over here? Always sneaking around stealing her-âÂ
âShut up-â And Gojo knows heâs riling him up, he knows that Geto wants to see a little drama - maybe finally shut up his pining over the one girl heâs wanted for the past year - and couldnât have. Itâs a trap. But Gojo canât stop his head from snapping between you and his best friendâs sly smirk. Slurring indignantly, âOf course Iâm fuckinâ handsome, nâ taller. Iâd make a better boyfriend too and-â He trails off at the sight of that loser leaning in - but more importantly that tiny furrow in your brows, your hands on his chest softly keeping him at bay. â-and mâgonna go over there nâ prove it.â
âAh, that loserâs gonna thank me later.â
And, hell, Gojo could barely even walk. Barely even think straight as heâs parting the stuffy living room, ignoring whatever whispers and titters were following him.Â
âI said no-â
âHey, sweetheart.â you jump when someone - Gojo - creeps up from behind you. Large build hanging off your own when he nuzzles his face into your neck. And you could feel his toothy grin on your skin, âMissed me?â
Your face burns, âI uh-â Angling your face as dignifiedly as possible to face your roommate, âGojo, are you drunk?â
âDrunk on you, yes.â
âWhat the-â
The man in front of you pipes up - shuffling uncomfortably on his feet. âDidnât realize you were taken. My bad.â Looking like heâd rather be anywhere but under the scrutiny of Gojo Satoru. His big arms tightening around your middle - when did they even get there? âIâll just uh- get out of your way, man.â
âMhm, by the way,â Gojo puffs up his chest a bit, clearly towering over the other man - ha, take that Suguru. âNice loss against Kyoto last week, real knee-jerker.âÂ
You smack Gojoâs chest at his rudeness, to which he only smiles wider. Watching the other man being swiftly handled away by another apologetic member of the basketball team.
âGojo.â
And before you can react, Gojoâs dragging his pretty plump lips along where that light blue band of your bra was just peeking out, murmuring lowly, âLove it when you scold me like that.â Still refusing to let go of you despite the jealous looks thrown your way, âLetâs go home, my girl.â
Oh, the look on your face was priceless.Â
He just wished he could fish out his phone and record, or maybe even tell Geto to take a picture - help him make it his wallpaper. And he did - over fifteen times, in fact, as the two of you helped drag him away from the thrumming party. Geto doesnât listen, of course, and you neither do you - grumbling out a slew of profanities underneath your breath that makes the Uber driver look at the two of you weird.
And yet, Gojoâs biggest issue right now was trying to climb up these fucking stairs - not when they were trying to run away from him.Â
âI swear to God, Gojo-â you huff, chest heaving under the weight of walking - well, more like dragging - your roommate up to your apartment. Knees wobbly - maybe at the intensity of his cologne, maybe at the way his biceps were flexing on your shoulders, probably at how fucking useless he was. Damn lightweight. âYou better cover my rent for the next year for this.â
âOf course I will~â his hot breath tickles your ear, âAnything for mâgirl. Iâll take care of us forever, don't you worry your pretty lilâ head.â
You roll your eyes, but you canât deny the way your heart clenches - just a little bit. And if youâre slamming open Gojoâs bedroom door with a little more force than necessary, well, at least heâs a bit too impaired to nag at you about it.
He bounces lightly when you throw him on his plush mattress, giggling softly, âYou should just join me, yâknow. Have a little sleepover.â
âDrop dead.â you monotone, not even daring to look back at him while you shuffle through Gojoâs shirts. Throwing one over your shoulder at him, âNâ wear this, I just know youâll complain about messing up your favorite button-up tomorrow morning.â
âAww, you always take care of me so well, my girl~â
That familiar little nickname makes a shiver run down your spine, and itâs all you can do to concentrate on shuffling through Gojoâs drawers in search of his shorts. Absent-mindedly reaching for the lowest drawer and-
âWait!âÂ
You jump, whirling around to catch Gojo sitting up ram-rod straight on the bed, eyes wide, hand reaching out as if to stop you. Swallowing thickly, you ask. âGojo?â
And he jolts - like the very sound of your voice is sending electricity zapping through his veins. Abruptly scrambling off the bed before resting two hands on your shoulders, gently guiding you away from the drawer. âMy shorts are uh- in my wardrobe, heh. Sorry about that.â
Furrowing your brows at the sudden twist, you squirm in his grasp to look at the drawer again. Failing - when Gojo keeps his grip steadfast, âWhyâre you acting so-âÂ
âHow about we order take out? My treat?â
And that night, tucking yourself into bed, you should be falling asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow. You should be caring less about that strange little outburst of Gojoâs inside his room. You should have realized sooner - those light blue panties youâd worn tonight were gone. No longer in your hamper of old clothes.
And there was only one thing to do.Â
---
Gojo thinks he shouldnât - fuck he knows he shouldnât. He doesnât even want to- well, that last bit was a lie.
Gojo Satoru first met you about a year ago, when youâd come knocking at his door asking about his ad for a roommate. It was more because he was bored inside this big apartment by himself than anything, really, but here you were all gorgeous and sweet, flashing him a smile that was burned into his mind for the rest of the week, at the very minimum. How could he ever say no?
And when youâd taken to walking around the apartment in those slutty lilâ shorts as a way to get back at his perpetual shirtless-ness? Thin panties just peeping out of the low hem?Â
God, it was everything he could do to not run to the bathroom with each little glimpse. He was fucked, so very embarrassingly fucked.Â
He just never thought it would get to this point - the first time had been an accident, honestly. When your laundry had gotten mixed up with his. Surely he didnât remember having such a cute pair of pink panties in his closet? And surely it didnât mean anything if he just-so-happened to stash them away, right?
At least, thatâs what Gojo told himself the first time. And the second. And the third. And shit, it was a bit of an addiction now, and within a year of rooming with you, heâd accumulated a drawer stuffed guiltily with exactly what he shouldnât be having.Â
Gojo Satoru - insufferable campus sweetheart, the dreamy first place on everyoneâs To-Fuck list - had been hoarding away your pretty panties. Like the pathetic virgin he pretends he isnât.Â
And so here he was - that dirty little drawer flung open, pants pulled down just enough, one hand flat on the flat surface to steady himself, while the other fisted desperately around his swollen cock - and one of your panties.Â
âF-fuck, sweetheart.â heâs hissing, body shuddering in lewd little tremors at that torturous drag of fabric down his length. Squeezing at his thick base, moving fast - filthy up, up, up to thumb along the end of his sopping slit. âFeels sâgood- too fucking good hngh-â
Such a pretty, wet gasp escapes him when your soaked, absolutely ruined underwear catches on his veins, tangling around his sensitive shaft. And heâs biting his lip, trying not to make a noise when he threads through the mess down below.Â
âOh fuck, yer killinâ me even when youâre ngh- not here.â he breathes unsteadily, weaving the sticky fabric around his long fingers. Tight - just how he knew you would. âSâlike you know what you do tâme with these.â
They were your blue ones, this time - the ones from just last night. The ones you were wearing not even a full day ago. And Gojo has them wrapped daintily around his rock-hard cock, stark against the blushing red at his fat head. Already so drenched in precum as he fucks his fist.Â
âYâlooked so p-pretty with these, sweetheart.â he groans over the wet fwip! fwip! fwip! Eyes rolling to the back of his head with each long, feverish stroke. âSo pretty being mine. Ngh- so pretty in my- fuck.âÂ
Slam!
Heâs hitting his palm facedown on the wood, knees buckling, eyes scrunching shut with pleasure.Â
And that ruined, utterly depraved part of Gojo wonders whether next time he should steal your bras too? Have the full set of you proudly wearing his color like some secret little slut for him.Â
Heâs letting out a ragged little laugh, oh how cute youâd look all confused. Nipples hard through your flimsy excuse of a t-shirt while you looked around for them. While you asked him for help.Â
Oh, just the thought of that has Gojoâs red, furious cock beading glossy drops of precum at his tip. Leaking a sinful, slippery sheen down his wrist. âAh.â he lets out a guttural groan when his angry dick twitches in his hand, falling onto his elbow on the drawer. Not having the strength - or the sanity - to keep himself up anymore. âLook what youâve-â Gojoâs eyes catch sight of a flash of red inside, sounding so wrecked. âLook what youâve done.â
And those obscene red panties are snatched up by his free hand in a second, not even a second wasted before Gojoâs bringing them up to his face.Â
Fuck.Â
âLook what youâve done. Look how ngh- filthy youâve made me.â he whines, muffled. Hips fucking up in quick, uncontrollable little thrusts into his closed fist. Voice a pitch higher as he spits out embarrassing little accusations, âHow pathetic. Gettinâ fuck- gettinâ off to this? Me of all hah- people like this? Canât imagine how f-fucking mad youâd be.â Â
Would you figure out it was him? Would you look in his drawer again? Teach him a lesson or two about being such a pathetic little pervert for his roommate.Â
Maybe - just maybe - if Gojo plays his cards right, gets on his knees and begs for mercy, then youâd let him keep his little treasure.Â
He throws his head back in a humorless little laugh when his aching hand slows down to languid, unforgivable tugs. He had time, anyway, your classes ended late today. Torturous - exactly the way he imagines youâd drive him mad. âHeh- wish this was you.â
Youâd be so much meaner, pressing down on that little divot at his tip, flicking teasingly like you were trying to fuck out something delicious. Youâd be running your nails down his achy veins, running your soft palms around his painful balls.Â
Youâd whisper, âThis all you got, Toru?â
âOh fuck!â Gojo moans, raspy little sounds of what sounds like your name filtering through the crevices of his fingers, your panties. âFuck fuck fuck- gonna cum.â he whines. Heavy balls smacking back into his thighs with each thrust into your imaginary hand. How he wished you were here. Heâs managing to wrench his eyes open to spy down at his sloppy cock - needing to see how your cute lilâ panties would look painted all white for him. How he wished you- âGonna-â
Oh. Fuck.Â
You.Â
âAw, why stop now, Gojo?â
Youâre leaning against Gojoâs open bedroom door, flashing him such a sultry little smirk. Your voice almost a purr when you echo, âI saidâŠâ Before taking two long steps to where he stood frozen, âWhy stop now?â
Gojo lets the damp fabric held up to his face drop in guilt - yet the other stays firmly wrapped around that hand cock of his still in hand.Â
âS-sweetheart what are you- why-â And perhaps for the first time in the twenty-something years that Gojo Satoru has terrorized this planet, heâs speechless. Worry-bitten lips sagging open stupidly, âI- this is-â
You cut him off, âSo youâre the panty thief.â So close now that Gojoâs dick was throbbing at each heave of your chest, the way you were squeezing your thighs together. Eyes sliding down his body to rest at the mangled mess of your all-new panties around his painfully hard cock. âI knew it.â
âI can explain-â
âAll those times pretending to help me?â you bat your lashes in a way that makes him gulp. Words dripping with the same tease heâd imagined in daydreams just like this. âWhen you were the pervert stealing my panties? Are you even ashamed?â
Gojo flushes an innocent pink, excuses tumbling out of those pretty lips immediately. But they sound like lies even to him.
âThis- ngh-â heâs rolling his hips forward when you slide a smaller finger down his arm, between his pecs, almost the way down to those tufts of white. âFuuuck- y-youâre not mad? Are ya the devil herself cuz youâre gonna- ngh- kill me this way.â
Humming, âClass was canceled, but of course - donât hah- stop on my account, Gojo.â
âToru.â heâs gasping out, a low moan wrenching out of him when heâs bowing his body into his fist again. Squeezing - almost warningly - at his hilt. âC-call me Toru. Please.â
And fuck he couldâve cum right then and there at that devilish little smile you give him, biting down on your lower lip - inches from his that it felt like you were biting down on his. Maybe you were, shit Gojo didnât even know right now.Â
âToru.â
Thatâs all it takes for Gojoâs lips to be crashing onto yours. Biting back a little whimper at the messy clash of teeth, of spit, because one taste of your candied lips and he was already so addicted.Â
âMmpf-â Gojo gasps, chasing hotly after your lips. Eyes half-lidded to watch the snapping of those delicate strings of saliva, âYouâre- youâre so-â And heâs way too impatient to get out his words, licking heatedly at the slit of your mouth. Over and over and over-Â âAs bad as me- ngh-â
âAre ya sure about that?â you grin, cunt clenching at your roommateâs pained grunt when you pull away. âBecause look-â
And the both of you are stuck on the way Gojoâs moving again, hips fucking up in jagged, mindless little grinds. Like he doesnât even realize heâs doing it. Like he didnât even feel the way his leaky tip was smearing along the front of your sinfully short skirt.Â
âCanât help it.â he whines, kissing down your neck. Hips urging forwards to slip up the thigh-length fabric, and when you donât pull away, Gojo drags your skirt up, up, up with his pulsing length, âYou donât know what you do to me- fuck.â
His jaw falls slack, ogling at the sight of your pretty pussy on full display for him. Already so glossy with your sweet sweet juices, needy between your restless thighs. Bare.Â
And this might be the first time heâs seen a cunt in real life but Gojo already knows - he already feels - that sheâs gonna be the death of him.Â
Sharp teeth nip at your bottom lip, tugging. âWhat the fuck-â Gojo breathes - more to himself than anything. âWhat the fuck what the-â Bringing down his free hand to run the pads of his long fingers along your puffy folds, as if to confirm whether this was real. â-fuck! Going out like this? Youâre even dirtier than me, huh?.âÂ
âWhat can I do?â Sliding your arms around his broad shoulders, palms running along the heated skin. Back arching to grind down on his hand, âSomeone stole all my panties.â
Your words fall on deaf ears, because Gojo doesnât hesitate for even a second before heâs bringing his dripping wet fingers up to his lips. Smoldering eyes looking right into yours when he pops them in his mouth. Sucking them dry.Â
âOh fuck, sweetheart.â
In a split second, youâre being splayed out on Gojoâs king-sized bed like such a slut. Bouncing at the sheer force of the throw. And it happens so fast that you almost think youâre seeing things - but, no, the way youâre bouncing against the silky sheets was real. Your skirt bunching up at your waist was real.Â
Gojoâs hazy gaze getting stuck right at the spot between your legs was real.Â
âShiiiit.â he murmurs, low and gravelly, like heâs moving through molasses. Stalking towards your trembling figure as if hypnotized, âOh, she looks even prettier this way.â
You shuffle in embarrassment, pressing your thighs together, âToru-â
But he doesnât hear you, instantly scrambling onto the bed. âNo- no no no no no-â Just wrenching your legs apart with his hands. âNo, you donât get to hide th-this from me, you donâ know how long Iâve waited for this. How much Iâve imagined-â
Youâre gasping when he runs the tip of his index between your sopping wet slit, coating his fingers in your juices once more. Teasing. âNâ so wet. This all fâme? God, canât even- ngh-â
âSo eager.â you mumble, fingers threading through Gojoâs soft locks to pull him in so close. To drag him towards where you needed him the most. âWhy donât you jusâ shut up- Nâ put that big mouth of yours into use somewhere else?â
His eyes widen, words a whisper, âC-can I?â He doesnât wait for your response before flipping the two of you so easily. Having you toppling precariously on his lap now, âCan I really? Never done this before.â
Never?
Itâs not before he lets out a shy huff, that you realize that you said that out loud. âSo what? Sâthat bad?â Two large hands groping and kneading your ass to keep you in place, âYa didnât actually ngh- believe all those stories on campus, did ya?â
Squirming at the feeling of his massive girth rubbing up against your swollen folds, âD-doesnât matter.â You grit out, âYou canâŠâ
And no sooner are you seeing Gojoâs megawatt smile, youâre already feeling it between your thighs. Being wrestled up like some glorified ragdoll, dragging your sloppy cunt all the way up to straddle Gojoâs pretty face.Â
âSo, this is what she ngh- looks like.â he whines, hot breath lapping at your quivering pussy. âShit, sheâs so wet I could almost-â Youâre gasping when the man below you simply sticks his awaiting tongue out, admiring your pussy while letting your syrupy sweet slick drip! drip! drip! down his throat. âThis all fâme?âÂ
The only thing you can give him right now is a needy little whine - which makes Gojo kiss the fat of your ass with a sharp smack! Biting his lip at the way it jiggles against his hand, âTell me, where did my feisty girl go?â
That lewd little nickname has you scoffing in pathetic frustration, your grip searing on his scalp when you force his obscene mouth closer. âY-you seriously need to-â Pulling, â-shut up, Toru.â
And oh, youâd played right into Gojoâs devilish hands. This was exactly what he wanted - to have his face stuffed between your limp legs, ready mouth meshing messily with the folds of your dripping cunt. âThere she is.â he moans, the tip of his tongue slurping up the sloppy dredges of your slick. Carding between your pussy lips, âOh- fuck there she is. Yeah use me like that- use me.â
Heâs running his mouth a mile a minute and you wonder how. Because Gojo was lapping at your cunt so feverishly, everywhere - from your inner thighs, to your folds, to just around the circles of your sloppy entrance like he wanted to taste it all. And couldnât decide where to go first.Â
âT-Toru.â you let out a honey sweet mewl of his name when the tip of his nose is rubbing against your clit. âThere. Right there-â
Eyes rolling to the back of his head when he easily locates your sensitive nub. Wrapping those ruby lips around your clit to give an experimental suck.Â
Shit, he could almost pass out from how heavenly you look on top guiding him. Your entire body jolting with each roll of his hot tongue, giving him such a pretty view of your tits up your silky shirt. Just dragging your sloppy cunt all into his mouth when he toys with your pulsing clit.Â
âOh fuck!â your hips are darting away with each zap of electricity sent down your spine.Â
Which, for Gojo - whoâs only ever dared to dream up this moment on those lonely nights - isnât enough.Â
âKnow mânew to this, sweetheart, but stop beinâ nice nâ fuckin-â Heâs pulling on the crease of your waist, dragging you to rest your entire weight on his face - his mouth. â-sit.â Youâre keening when Gojo forces you to collapse on his soft tongue, bullying past your puffy folds and into that sloppy ring of muscle. Jusâ barely dipping past the resistance, âI said use me so fuckinâ use me. Donâ care if I canât breathe - if I fucking suffocate- ngh- mâgonna die if you donât just sit.â
âFine.â You cry out when the curve of his tongue is molding into your gummy walls, pushing recklessly past. Not even fucking easing you into it before heâs fucking you on his tongue. Calculated, mean little thrusts in search of all your sweet spots. âNo half-assing then, mâkay?â
Though, you had the feeling that he would do anything but.Â
âGood, now keep still.â heâs scolding, one hand starting up again in those slow, satisfied tugs on his length. âPlease keep still.â And the other dancing between your legs to push a finger inside your snug cunt. âMmm itâs a tight fit, can feel ya clenching around me. Ngh- always wondered how itâd feel- where that would be.â
Blinking away the haze in your eyes, you look down at where Gojo was already locked on you, âTh-that?â
âThat.â he breathes into your cunt, voice reverent as he speeds up. âSâyour pussy gonna tell me where your good spot is? Gonna help me ngh- learn?â
And to your embarrassment - and Gojoâs smug satisfaction, it only takes a few more hurried strokes of his tongue before heâs nudging against your g-spot. Both the texture of his tongue and his long, cold fingers curling to assault the poor bundle of nerves.Â
Your body bows deeper as if on auto-pilot, âOh- fuck! You fucking- hnghâ
Heâs snickering at the way youâre so responsive, cock hard - and only swelling girthier in his fist with each adorable moan falling from your lips.Â
âOh yeah? There? Ya like this?â he moans, âYa like shutting up the ngh- p-pervert that steals your panties with your cunt?âÂ
Getting faster. More attuned to his feral need.Â
Lips smacking in tempo with those obscene squelches, you canât tear your eyes away from the way his cheeks hollow. Fingers still so rapid, moving to make out and toy so messily with you clit - untimed, sloppy but fuck did you love it.Â
âY-yes.â youâre shoving his mouth guiltlessly deeper. Letting his long tongue explore every crevice and inch of you. Sloppier. So, so filthy. âLove it- fuck- youâre such a fast fucking learner.â
âI know.â
There was that cocky Gojo Satoru you were used to, lips curling into a strawberry pink smile around your clit - all glossy and sweet with a sheen of your slick. Making such a mess of the lower half of his face, his chin, shit, all the way down to his jaw.Â
âMâclose-â you choke out at the sight, âMâso fuckinâ close- gonna- gonna cum on your tongue, Toru.â
âLook at you ruining me.â his words hit you hard on your sensitive cunt, sending shockwaves up your arched spine. Obscene little smacks of his lips following your barely-lucid mewls.âAbsolutely defiling me. Are ya proud of nghhh fuck- yourself?â
Itâs all you can do to manage out a strained, âYes! Yes yes yes yes- God, mâso close, Toru/ Gonna cum mâgonna-â
You donât even realize it when youâre cumming at first, just that youâre riding Gojoâs unfairly pretty face in harsh grinds - just the way he liked it. Jaw grinding against your cunt, chin hitting you with each slutty jerk of your hips, letting you use him all you want to ride through your high.Â
And his fingers are digging into your hips, stopping you from pulling away even when you were snow. Even when youâre sobbing in oversensitivity. So painfully good.Â
âNgh- T-Toruââ youâre slurring out, his name thick on your tongue. âMânot gonna cum on your dick if you k-keep hah- acting this way.â
Only then does a pussydrunk Gojo Satoru raise his bleary eyes back up at you. Giving you a strained little grunt of acceptance, before parting ways with your pussy with a lingering, wet kiss on your clit. Barely-audible as he whispers, âGonna see ya soon.â
You donât have the time to think about his newfound addiction. Because in all of three seconds, heâs plopping you back down so prettily on his lap. Purposefully feeding your sopping wet slit his weeping red tip.Â
âPlease.â Gojoâs usually-arrogant grin has fallen into such a pretty pout with one graze of his length sandwiched between your folds. âI did good, right? Please ngh- so I th-think if I made you cum then I get to hah- fuck you how I want.â
And itâs not that you didnât appreciate it before - but looking at his thick tip pushing up against your cunt right now has you recognizing that shit, Gojo is massive.Â
Fat head blushing a pretty reddish, leaking so messily down, down, down those glistening veins at his side and to the creamy ring at his base - from when heâd cum, just from eating you out, you realize with a jolt. His girth so intimidatingly thick, long enough that you know you wonât be walking for a week straight, at least. All throbbing and angry with every second he isnât buried to the hilt inside your cunt.Â
Gojo Satoru is massive.Â
âLike what ya see?â he echoes your thoughts, a soaked thumb coming down to pry apart your glossy folds. Grinning at the way your hole was already so needy and clenching around nothing. âThink mâthe ngh- perfect size for this pretty pussy?â
Through it all, you find it in yourself to muse, âOnly one way to find out. Gonna let me be your first, Toru?â
And then heâs pushing in, shallow, high little gasps bursting from his lips with each inch being bullied into your plush cunt.Â
âO-oh fuck-â Gojo canât stop himself from taking a good look at the way your pussy lips are bulging around him. Jaw dropping at the way your greedy entrance is only sucking him up more and more - trying to bite off more than you can chew with the way he was in so deep but barely even halfway in yet. âSâtoo good- oh my god- fuck I think mâgonna die. Is it sâpposed to feel th-this good?â
Youâre running a hand gingerly through Gojoâs mussed-up hair, smoothing down the sides sticking up where youâd been pulling on it. âSâalright, Toru.â you soothe, letting him grind up into you. Trying to fit more - all of it. âYouâve got it- youâve hah-â
You let out a pathetic little whine when his tip kisses your cervix, legs flexing around his toned waist.Â
âOh- ohhh fuck-â heâs barely able to string together coherent sentences now. Eyes falling till their half-lidded, body moving before his mind when he pulls yours stuck to his. âS-soo good nâ I havenât even- oh!â His voice goes a few octaves higher when Gojo finally starts moving. âHow can- it feel this good, hng-â
And shit for being inexperienced, he was fucking up into you so mean. Just in short little thrusts up like he was trying to fuck you even deeper - trying to squeeze inside more of himself impossibly.Â
âSome- ah- some more, Toru-âÂ
He listens, and the stretch - fuck. Gojo wasnât even trying yet, but his girth was already massaging your gummy walls so dizzyingly good.Â
âY-youâre so- ngh-â you graze your lips across his in what can barely be called a kiss. Too messy. Too depraved. â-so deep.â Sliding a hand about midway down your stomach to press down, âCan feel you all the way in here.â
Your words are sticking to Gojo like a second skin, driving him so fucking mad. Hips smacking up into you deep until his heavy balls were slapping your ass, sculpted pelvis crashing into yours.
âStop talking.â he spits, âStop talking stop talking stop- talking.â Each word is punctuated by a desperate, messy stroke. Pushing you further and further up Gojoâs body from the obscene impact. âStop hah- talking or mâgonna cum.â
He wasnât lying - you could already feel the twitch of Gojoâ length rubbing up against your hidden sweet spots. The furious throbbing of his veins stretching out your elastic walls.Â
And yet youâre still wailing stubbornly, âB-but Toru it feels so good.â Partially truth, partially because when the fuck do you get to see him so utterly wrecked like this. Sanity dancing away from him with each syrupy moan leaving your mouth, âYour cock is too good- ngh- feels-â
âShut up.â
Gojo can only take that much of your nonsense before heâs stuffing your mean mouth full with a flimsy piece of fabric from somewhere on the bed- no. A strangely familiar pair of panties.Â
âHeh, sâmuch ohhh fuck- better.â he beams with pride when youâre gagging and tearing up so adorably around the light blue fabric. Ramming his cock up harder - stronger, as if daring you to make a little comment about it. âShouldâve ah fuck- known you wouldnât make it easy fâme.â
As if to prove his point, he gives your ravaged clit a little smack! before teasing and rolling his thumb exactly the way youâd taught him to with his tongue.
And heâs scrambling to sit up, carrying your boneless body with him.Â
The new angle has Gojo seeing stars, penetrating your gummy walls deeper, hitting that familiar g-spot heâs mapped out by now. âHere?â he manages to cackle, a big arm wrapping around your waist. âRight here? Sâmy cock hitting th-that ngh- good spot? Yer pussy is fuuuck so much easier to u-understand than I ah- thought.â
Reeling back to bounce you on his thick cock. Crashing into it again. And again and again and-
Since you canât snap back - or even beg for more - you only let out muffled little moans through the gag in your mouth. Thighs burning as you push back in pathetic little thrusts to somehow meet Gojoâs mindless cadence.
âOh yeah?â he drags, leaning back to help you ride him properly. âYeah yeah do i-it hah- like that. Do it juuuust like that.â A harsh thumb rolls into your clit, making you stutter and grind yourself down messily. âFuck- Yeah ruin me- ngh- just like that.â
His words were jagged - uneven. Spitting out of his plump lips like he didnât even know they were every time Gojoâs fat, leaky tip was gliding across your cervix, your g-spot. Leaving possessive little bruises to claim you from the inside out.Â
âC-close.â you slur out, not even sure if he could hear over the dull slap of his balls on your ass, and the greedy squelches of your cunt. âMore, Toru.â
Yet your sinful, sickly sweet noises have him freezing - if only for a split-second. Pussydrunk eyes going wide, jaw falling slack in such awe.Â
But before you can fully appreciate this sight, heâs starting back his depraved thrusts again. Bouncing you harder - faster. Just dragging you along every ridge and bump of his swollen cock. Fingers just a needy blur toying with your poor clit.Â
âM-more?â he whines into the crook of your neck, voice breaking at the end. âMore. More?â He speaks up, like a mantra. Each word sending you spiraling down Gojoâs merciless cock, Panting, âEver since you fuck- started rooming wâme, wanted this- wanted you to hah- be my first.â Holding you in such a vice-like grip as he splits you apart on his aching cock. Harder. âYouâve ruined me-â he spits against your lips, big fat tears rolling down his cheeks. âDonâ know how many times Iâve cum to your pretty panties. Ruined me- ruined me- fuck mâso close- ruined me.â Violent, even.Â
So it only makes sense that your orgasm was the same.Â
And itâs only taking a few more unsteady jabs into your g-spot before a wave of euphoria is crashing over you. âHngh-â you spasm in Gojoâs arms, his eyes going wide in wonder when your cunt squeezes him so fucking tight- only to-
âF-fuck!â he whines, connecting your lips to his. Kissing you even with your panties still stuffed into your mouth. And Gojoâs cumming and cumming so hard he doesnât even think heâs breathing. Intertwining his tongue with yours to muffle his overstimulated moans, wrapping around your sweet slick-soaked panties in the middle. The contrast of his soft tongue with the lazy fabric of your panties only making you milk his poor cock harder. âFuck fuck fuck fuck fuck- fuck- Take it. Take it, my girl.â
You moan incoherently, going insane at the way he was filling you up with long, thick ropes of cum. Fucking deeper and deeper up into you to paint your plushy walls from the inside.Â
âSâall Iâve- ngh wanted.â he murmurs throatily, such a fucking mess now. Face flushed, eyes glassy with tears, drool dripping down the corner of his mouth with the way he was sucking lewdly on your tongue. âYouâre all I-Iâve ever wanted.â
Shit, he hasnât cum this hard in his life.
Finally having had enough of shutting up your smart mouth, Gojo slows down to deep little grinds - still moving. Still trying to hold back his moans at that creamy ring around his hilt, at the globs of seed trickling out of your poor overfilled pussy.Â
âHah- Toru-â you whine when he pries away the fabric in your mouth. Shuddering with the swipe of his finger along your clit, âC-could almost ngh- forgive youâŠâ
âThe blue one.â
âWhat?â youâre staring at him in confusion, and Gojoâs fucked-out grin only spreads wider.Â
âThat was for the b-blue one.â you gasp when his balls suddenly squeeze so painfully underneath you. Cock jerking in interest, âYâgonna have me make up for that whole drawer full of panties, sweetheart?â

You hadn't initially intended on slitting your own wrist. That idea was birthed almost vicariously in the moment. If he hadn't stopped you, your corpse would have been found laying on a park bench, covered in its own wet blood that would have been dripping from its open wrist like a faucet. Surely his proposition would be better than that.
With your vision obstructed by a heavy blindfold, your hearing is ten times more prominent. You hear the sound of your own breathing, as if your body was taunting you with all the life it still begrudgingly held inside it. You also heard heavy yet elegant footsteps cross a marble floor. Then you hear the scratch of a vinyl as the very sounds of an orchestra bleeds into the atmosphere.
"Hello," said the Man in the gray suit who had accosted you in the park. You remember the way in which he had sat beside you.
No one had ever sat beside you. Not even any of your peers that roamed the university. Everything about your countenance was so worried and severe. You wore your money problems on your sleeves and that evidently warded off any chance of a social life you had hoped to have.
The moon was shining particularly bright and the stars were twinkling little spectators to your silent meltdown on the park bench. Your eyes had been reading and re-reading the email sent to you by the university. An urgent email amongst a sea of urgent emails begging you to 'please just pay them'.
"Don't slit your wrist," he had said, "Not before you've given yourself a chance to win at life first."
You had looked up at him with bloodshot eyes from all that crying over potentially getting kicked out of university. He hadn't melted at your expression, in fact he only smiled softly. "We ought to play a game-"
"I wasn't going to slit my wrist."
"You were just holding that boxcutter for fun, then?" He curled up an eyebrow, leading both of your gazes down to the pocket box cutter that sat in your lap, the blade extended.
"I'm not in the mood to play a game."
"Not even at the cost of your university fees?" Your eyes snapped up to him then. He sat a healthy distance away from you. The space between you both was filled with possibilities so endless it was becoming uncomfortable to breathe. "How much do you owe them now?"
"That's none of your business," you were on the verge of gathering your things. Your boxcutter and your pride.
Perhaps you could kill yourself somewhere else, preferably without a man accosting you about the embarrassing state of your funds.
"I could pay for your university fees, you know," His words morphed into an anchor, keeping your butt firmly planted to the park bench. A midnight runner passed by you two. An evening breeze blew through your scalp and the goosebumps descended.
"Of course, you'd have to win first."
Anyone could see the conflict warring within your irses.
"This is how people get sex trafficked," you'd said, "Absolutely no thank you," How utterly in control you had been! A girl with a firm head on her shoulders.
He only laughed then. He laughed and laughed, so much so he had to politely clear his throat.
"You were about to kill yourself. Don't pretend to have any self preservation now," his words had struck a cord deep within the inner workings of your soul. Your face heated as you hid yourself, tucking your chin against your chest. You did suddenly feel remarkably silly and so incredibly juvenile.
"Don't worry," he had said with an almost lopsided grin, "It's your lack of self preservation that I find so incredibly intriguing, hence I'm asking for one game."
It was only one game.
One game and if you were lucky enough to win, you might coast through the rest of university stress-free. Like a normal 20 year old with normal 20 year old problems. Boyfriends. Clubbing. Whatever else all those girls did when they huddled together in their magnificent little groups. You could be a part of them. For once you had to give yourself the opportunity of feeling like a member of society.
"Are these restraints a necessary element of our game?"
As you sit in this room- a room he had brought you too- blindfolded- you tell yourself that you are giving yourself a chance to be a normal 20 year old. That's why you were currently restrained to a leather chair. The restraints held your wrists to the armrests and your and your ankles to the feet of the chair. This led to the slight and uncomfortable spreading of your legs- a dangerously vulnerable position to be in when you were wearing nothing but a university jumper and a pleated skirt.
You quickly find out that you didn't like to be restrained.
Your chest rises and falls a little higher with every sharp intake of your breath as you will yourself into calmness. Freaking out now seemed completely silly.
Almost as silly as letting a stranger bring you to his hidden location.
Had you no sense of self preservation at all?
Were you a walking piece of meat, waiting for the first predator to sink its teeth into you?
Has that predator finally arrived?
"The restraints are unfortunately a necessary element.â He says, softly, âThe human body tends to get jittery when it's met with unforeseen stimuli, and I don't want you running out on me."
That lets the panic solidify itself even more in your bones. This man walked as if he was a perfectly stand up guy and that helped in your decision of letting him bring you here.
Nothing seemed particularly wrong with him at first glance.
His face has all the workings of a perfectly normal man. He looked like he was in possession of a cushy, stable job with pensions and benefits. A salesman.
He looked like he attended his kids soccer matches on the weekends.
He looked married to a beautiful woman who looks good in mom jeans and baked brownies for her Wednesday night book club.
He looked so painfully normal.
But the panic is rising, the more that âdanse macabreâ fills the room.
"C-Could you at least play something else," You are fidgeting now and it causes him to raise a brow. "Danse macabre is just," you attempt to swallow but your tongue is completely dry, "-incredibly unnerving, right now."
You try to massage your wrists in the restraints and you breathe through your nostrils as a phantom pain shoots through your legs. The need to move was eating you alive.
"You know your classical music," The man regarded you with slight intrigue as he folded the piece of material he had once used to obstruct your vision. He places it on a tiny coffee table before you. "Interesting for a kid your age. Do you know the story behind it?"
"Of course, I do, why do you think I'm nervous?" You had his full attention now. You were almost drowning in it as he lowered himself to a leather chair directly opposite you.
You had never had anyone listen to you as intently as he does. No one bothered to hear what you had to say. The voices in your head were your only audienceâŠ
Now you have someone seated before you, so lax as he urges you to, âGo on, explain why it makes you so nervous.â It was completely addicting.
âW-Well,â you swallowed the air again. âDanse macabre quite literally means dance of death,â he sits back in his chair, his fingers tapping against his mouth.
âWhy?â he asks in deeply monotony, as if you had captured him as much as he, evidently captured hou. Like you weren't the only one in restraints.
Your brows furrowed âIs this quiz apart of the game-â
âNo. I just want to hear you talk.â He says as he reaches over the side of his chair uncovering a sleek black briefcase veneered in expensive leather. He assures you with a single nod of his head that he's listening as he clocks open the briefcase.
âWell,â your eyes are on the whiteboard he pulls out, âCamille wrote this symphony all dark and depressing because it's supposed to sound like it's being played by death himself,â
The suited man smiles down at his busy hands as he lays your boxcutter on the coffee table beside the whiteboard. âI-It tells us that death is the great equalizer. It doesn't matter if you have money or you're about to be kicked out of university for insufficient funds-â he cracks a small smile at that, pulling out a whiteboard marker in the process, âthe dance of death is inevitable for us all. Money can't buy you out of it.â You shake your head, âIt's real medieval shit.â
You watch him smile again. It's devastatingly attractive which immediately raises the alarms in your own head. This man has restrained you in a chair, in an undisclosed location. For all you knew, death was very well the thing waiting for you at the end of all this.
But he wouldn't stop you from killing yourself, only to kill you himself, would he?
You'd heard about serial killers being raging narcissists. You would virtually be a lousy victim, having already wanted to die.
That thought calms you somewhat.
âWe're going to play âHangmanâ,â he turns the board to reveal a simple drawing of a gallow and a man hanging from it.
âAre you familiar with it?â
âOf course,â you nod your head, your nerves level somewhat at the sight of the little stick figure.
Just guess a letter to a mystery before the Hangman is drawn. These were children's games.
âFor every word you get right, a semester of your studies is paid in full.â He smiles, warmly, watching the awe blossom across your face. âYou'll get your degree and become the psychologist you've always wanted to be.â
Your brows furrow, âH-How did you know I-â
âOf course there's a penalty to the game,â you watch him erase the little stick figure, as he draws the little lines corresponding with the amount of letters in the mystery word. âIf you don't guess the correct words in time,â Time stands still. âWell⊠The word get carved into your skin.â
You had never been a cautious individual. When your mother would fret and nag about your safety, you would roll your eyes. Everyone else always had self preservation for you. Why would you need it? Bad things rarely happen to boring people. The news coverage worthy stuff? You?
But here you were, fucking drowning in the Bad stuff.
"I'm not playing,â You begin to try and twist your wrist out of the restraints as your panicked eyes zero in on the blade seated on the desk. âI'm not fucking playing-â
âI'm afraid that isn't an option. What's your first letter?â
Despite the soundproof padding stylishly plastered against the sleek black walls you still scream "HELP-Oh my god- HELPâ
He walks over towards you in large strides, clamping his hands in your skull and pulling your head back. He's much closer now. Closer than he had been at the park. His eyes are sparkling with intensity and a manic sort of quality that escaped you on your first meeting. Where were these eyes when you were still on that park bench, still able to choose to run far, far away to the nearest police station.
Where were these wild eyes then?
âLook at how scared you've gotten...â He laughs, in your face, âA scared, terrified little Doll-â
âPlease let me go-â
âI'm not the one keeping you restrained here.â He lifts his hands as if he were completely crime-free, âYou decided to play this game out of your own volition. You're restraining yourself, Dollâ
âJesus, that doesn't even make sense-â you cry, âHELP-â
He pulls a tighter grip around your hair, silencing your cries as a wince bleeds out of your instead..
âYou don't wanna do that,â he says, staring deep into your glassy irses, âI have a thing for little girls with pretty tears-â
âPlease don't hurt me-â you didn't wanna be a newspaper girl. You didn't want to be a nobody-turned-somebody because her death was so grisly it graced the front pages of a newspaper. That isn't the way your story was supposed to go and so you plead with the humanity inside him. You search for it under all that black ink filling his almond eyes.
Nothing.
They're absolutely black.
âGuess a letter, Doll."
You steal your nerves. Your shoulders slump.
âE-Every word has a vowel in it right?â his eyes flutter shut as he presses his lips against the side of your face. He seems like he's transforming into a completely different person right before your very eyes and it set you alight with fear.
Fear and something else.
âThat's it, now we're getting somewhere,â
âI'll go with âAâ,â a tense, mortifying silence stretches between you too. He begrudgingly removes his hand from your hair, patting down your head like the child he regressed you to as he strolled to the white board.
âCorrect.â
He writes the letter âaâ twice on the little lines. The first one of the second line and the second one on the fourth line and almost with your brain slotting into place you raise your head. you wipe a stray tear on your shoulder before saying, âI-I- know what the word is.â
He raises his eyebrow. âAlready?â Intuition was a scary thing. It was like a last resort, leaving you clamouring for hope.
âCare to share,â
âIs there an ârââ you look up at him. âI need to be sure.â Your legs are fidgeting in anxiety. Your fingernails dig into the leather under the armrest.
He is quiet as he draws an ârâ over the second last line.
âMacabre. The word is âmacabre.ââ
A slow almost predatory grin stretches across his face.
âHow much did you say tuition was?â
Your heart stammers in its chest.
For those few moments you don't think about death. You don't think about blood. All you think about is that outstanding amount as you murmur a quiet, ââ©3,893,852.â
You had it memorized.
The number that haunted your every waking hour, bleed from your lips like a prayer.
You watch as he lowers the white board marker to uncover a phone in his back pocket. He taps a few buttons and in a matter of moments- he turns his screen towards you.
What a remarkable day this had turned out to be.
âHow do you know my banking details?,â you ask, squinting your eye at the screen, âWho are yo-â
âThat round was too easy.â He moves to sit back down, âHere's your next word,â your heart falls when he only draws three lines underneath the gallow.
Three letter words could be the easiest or the most difficult when it comes to a game like this.
âA?ââ you ask through wet lashes. Your only option was to hammer through the list of vowels.
âOoh-â he pouts, before drawing a Hangman's head. âTry again.â
âE?â
He's silent as he draws a stick for The Hangman's body. The panic kickstarts once more.
âShit-â
âThat's not a letter?â He jests, âOne more non-word and you're Disqualified, Doll.â His knee is bouncing up and down. As if everything in him was anticipating the end of the game. Your nerves are drowing in anxiety.
âI-â
âYou can't just name every vowel under the sun, Doll. You don't have very many options remaining.â He draws the stick figures first arm.
4 chances left.
âO?â Your breath catches in your lungs. You watch as he throws his head back to lift his hips slightly, as if adjusting his pants. It almost immediately lowers your gaze to the prominent bulge there. Fuck. Not only was he anticipating your loss, he was getting off to the thought of it.
âWell done.â He writes âoâ in the second line. Right between the middle and end lines.
âUh- âcââ
He adds another appendage to the stick figure. â3 more chances remaining.â He says, standing up. His arm jitters as he picks up the boxcutter in.
âG-â you ask through tears. He kneels in front of you, his eyes are almost as desperate as yours.
âYou are the most fun I've had in years,â he admits, before turning to draw another appendage.
âGuess again, Doll,â the boxcutter extends and you cry.
âYou don't have to do this,â You plead and he only sighs as he places his forehead against yours.
âYou are such a brave little girl, you know that-â
âOh my god-â
â2 more guesses.â
ââT?â You squeak out so quietly, as your eyes squeeze shut.
He presses his lips to your right cheek and you melt. The fear all disappears and it's just you and him. Even on his knees, he's so large, so towering. It sets you alight with incomparable need.
âWell done, Doll- I'm so proud of you, " he sighs, âOne more word, baby.â
âP- wait, No!" the sound barely makes it out of your mouth and looks down at you, chest rising and falling.
You hold your breath, eyes wide and wet and it makes him so fucking hard.
âY- my answer is âYâ.â He exhibited all the signs of a sadist. Of course his word for you word be-
âThat's my answer. âToyâ
A tense silence bleeds as he brings the boxcutter into your field of vision, and you're once again writhing in your seat. âPlease- please no-â
âFuck I'm gonna need to cum-â He admits gravely. Even more grave, even more harrowing, you're squirming in your seat. Lust balling deep within your cut. You're terrified but so utterly turned on.
Is masochism a symptom of loneliness?
âPlease-â
He presses the blade to your leg and you both watch as he sinks the tip down onto your skin. For all those moments, you revel in the pain. The blade breaks skin and you cry out as droplets of blood grows pregnant along your thigh. Danse macabre crescendos and tears fall. As he swipes his finger along the drop of crimson.
âD-Did I not get it right?"
ââYou got it right,â he admits, undoing the buttons of his blazer as he stands to his heavy feet once more. The menacing shadow of a God. He's humongous and you crane your neck back to look at him.
âmy little winner-â he mumbles, planting a heavy hand on your head as his other hand rubs over his erection.
âI-If I got it right,â you mumble through your sniffles, âTh-Then why did you cut me?â
He looks down at you. The hand planted on your head moves down to the side of your face as he unzips his pants. Your heart is banging out of its cage as he lowers his pants just enough to have his hand slipping into his boxers.
He watches the blood smudged across your thigh.
âI just-â he curses as he uncovers his fully erect cock, leaking precum,âI just wanted to see your blood.â he admits gravely before bringing his cupped hand to your lips.
'Spit.â He commands.
You're unable to look away. The precum beading the head of his cock slides down the thick veins along the length of it- all the way to the base. You want him in your mouth. Inside you. The need and the pain is an avalanche of contradictions.
He makes you feel so scared, so wanted.
âDon't make me ask again.â He says darkly, tilting your head up to look deep into his eyes.
His fingers prod at your lips and your mouth falls open as his hand delves inside. âTongue out.â He whispers hoarsely, cursing once again when you roll your tongue out. Somehow incredibly obedient.
âYou're gonna be a good girl for me, Doll?â He asks, bringing the tip of his cock to your lips. You nod cautiously, feeling yourself descend into a state of mind you'd never been at before. You feel so pliant with his hand still on your cheek as he guides his cock into your mouth. You feel completely reckless. Someone like you who spends her time studying and worrying. Right now you were made to feel completely empty.
âThat's it-â he coos, looking so utterly pained as his cock slides against your tongue, âThat's my Doll,â he thrusts in and out of your mouth and you just sit there. Quite literally a doll. You let him use you, feeling more useful now than you've ever felt in all your years of living. There is beauty in submission that has a wet spot forming along your panties. You writhe as he begins to fuck your throat, drawing out a moan from him in the process.
âShit- you're such a good girl-â there's fire in his eyes as he thrusts in and out. His hands move to the back of your head, forcing you down deeper on his cock. The sounds of your struggle -the gagging- it has his cocm twitching in your mouth
âFuck-â he grunts, breathing so heavily as you begin to writhe in your seat, needing air.
âI knew you were special, Doll- I knew you were so far beyond self preservation- it borders patheticâ the saltiness of his precum trickle down your throat and you attempt to stomp your feet as your cries vibrate around his cock.
âLook at your hips moving baby,â he says, âYou like this as much as I do. You're on my side. Even if you think you aren't.â Your hips are circling as if you're searching for friction along the chair as he groans. âTell me you're on my side.â
He pulls your mouth off his cock and you breathe in deeply. You're coughing as droplets of spit run down your mouth. Spit and tears. Your face shows it all.
Your voice is hoarse. âI'm on your-â
âF-Fuck- I'm gonna cum-" He brings his cock back to your lips, âAll over that pretty fucking face- fuck,â your tears fall as he strokes cock, emptying cock over you face. You keep your eyes shut, letting the sound of his pleasure-filled groans shoot straight to your puffy clit.
âI'm not letting you go,â his thumb moves over the cum coating your face. He moves his thumb past your lips, letting the cum seep into your mouth. Saltiness and need.
He needed you.
âYou're not?â You ask petulantly, sucking on his thumb like you've regressed right before him.
âI'm not.â He confirms, âMy little winner.â

This is Ours [Logan Howlett]

Warnings: fem!reader, SMUT, sexual tension, angst, fluff, lots of feelings WC: 18.8k - MASTERLIST
A/N: apologies for dropping another long fic but i literally could not stop writing the juices were flowing. i really hope you enjoy this! i think its my fave so far :)
----
For as long as you can remember, summers were synonymous with your grandparents' farm. It was a tradition, one you held close to your heart. To you, your time there embodied your entire childhoodâdays spent under the sun, where the air was thick with the scent of wildflowers and the soothing chorus of cicadas filling the long, golden afternoons.
Mornings began early, with you bounding downstairs to join your grandparents for breakfast. The kitchen was always filled with the comforting aroma of fresh coffee and pancakes. Your grandfather would be at the table, engrossed in his newspaper, while your grandmother hummed softly as she cooked, the sound of the morning radio playing faintly in the background. Your days were spent exploring the fields, helping with the chores and horses, or sitting on the porch with your grandmother, listening to stories from her youth.
It couldnât get any more perfect than that.Â
But as the years passed, things changed. After you graduated high school, the summer visits became less frequent. University took up more of your time, and you were always busyâfirst with classes, then with internships, and finally with starting your career. The farm, once the centre of your world, became a place you could only visit if you were lucky, and even then, it was never for long.Â
You miss it.
This year, however, things were different. You found yourself in between jobs, with the first real break youâd had in what felt like forever. And when the moment the opportunity arose, you knew exactly where you wanted to go.Â
â
The drive to your grandparents' farm is a journey into the past. The country road, lined with trees that stretched out like old friends, brings back a flood of memories from your childhood: where youâre sitting in the back of your parentâs car vibrating with excitement. You pass the same fields, still as vast and green as you remember, dotted with flowers swaying gently in the breeze, and the old oak tree where you used to swing as a child stands tall, its branches reaching up to the sky as if welcoming you back.
When you finally pull up to the farmhouse, the sight of it fills you with a deep sense of nostalgia. The white paint is more chipped than you remember, the porch sags a little more in the middle, and you can tell that itâs been a while since the grass was last trimmed.Â
Stepping out of the car, the screen door squeaks open, and thereâs your grandmother, standing on the porch, wiping her hands on her apron. Sheâs smaller than you remember, more fragile, but the smile on her face is the sameâwarm, welcoming, and full of love. âThereâs my girl,â she calls out, rushing down the steps and into the driveway as fast as she can.Â
âGrandma!â you exclaim, hurrying toward her to wrap her in a hug.
She pulls back to look at you, her eyes twinkling despite the lines of age etched on her face. âYouâve grown even more beautiful, but you look tired. Weâll fix that with some good meals, wonât we?â
You laugh, nodding. âI missed your cooking.â
âAnd I missed having someone to cook for,â she replies with a chuckle, patting your cheek. âCome inside. Your grandpaâs been counting down the days until you got here.â
You grab your suitcase from your car and follow her into the house, the familiar scents of fresh bread and old wood enveloping you the minute you step inside. Itâs just as you rememberâcozy, lived-in, filled with the glow of years worth of love and memories. Your grandfather sits at the kitchen table, a pair of reading glasses perched on the tip of his nose as he reads a book. He looks up as you enter, and the moment he sees you, his face breaks into a wide grin.
âThereâs my favourite farmhand,â he jokes, letting out a grunt as he places one hand on the table, slowly pushes out of his chair.Â
âGrandpa,â you say, meeting him halfway for a hug.Â
âGot here just in time,â he says with a wink. âPlenty of work to do, you know.â
âI figured,â you reply, playfully nudging him. âIâm ready to get my hands dirty.â
âGood to hear,â he says, leaning back against the table for support. âThis old back of mine isnât what it used to be.â
Your grandmother sets a glass of lemonade in front of you and sits down, her eyes flicking toward the window. âWeâve had to make some changes around here, sweetheart,â she begins gently. âYour grandpa and I⊠well, we canât do as much as we used to.â
You hum, listening carefully. Seeing your grandparents grow older is difficultâit's a constant reminder that time is slipping away, and the moments you have together are becoming more precious with each passing day.
âWeâve hired some help,â she continues. âA man named Logan. Heâs been a blessing, really, taking care of the heavier work. But heâs⊠well, heâs not much of a talker.â
âLogan?â you ask, glancing out the window.Â
Thatâs when you see him. Tall and broad-shouldered, he is out by the barn, carrying some hay. Heâs wearing a worn-down flannel with jeans, and his dark hair is slightly tousled. Even from a distance, you can tell heâs strongâhe looks like he knows what heâs doing.Â
âYeah, Logan,â your grandfather confirms. âKeeps to himself mostly, but heâs getâs the job done. Donât mind his gruffness; heâs just not used to people fussing over him.â
âHeâs been here since last spring,â your grandmother adds. âWe needed the help, and he needed the work. Itâs been good for both sides. You should go and introduce yourself after you unpack, dear. Maybe get in some work before we sit for dinner later.â
Nodding, you walk up the stairs in the house and make your way to your room. It looks exactly the same as the last time you saw it. Your old stuffed animals are organized neatly on the shelf above the bed, and the quilt your grandmother made for you, with patches of faded fabric from old dresses and curtains, is spread across the bed the exact same way itâs always been.Â
The posters on the walls, the little knickknacks on the dresserâeverything is a snapshot of your younger self, preserved in this room like a time capsule. Itâs comforting, but also a little bittersweet, a reminder of how much time has passed since you had last visited.
After a few moments of reminiscing, you stand up and begin unpacking, carefully placing your clothes in the old wooden dresser. Each drawer creaks as you open it, the sound a part of this roomâs charm. You smile as you come across some of the little treasures you left behindâa pressed flower between the pages of an old book, a seashell from a family trip to the coast, and last, a picture of you and your grandparents taken one summer when you were about ten.
Youâre standing between them, beaming with a toothy grin, their arms wrapped around you in a warm embrace. The three of you are standing in front of the barn, with the sun setting behind you. You can almost hear your grandmotherâs laugh as the camera clicked, your grandfatherâs playful grumbling about having to pose for âjust one more picture.â The photo captures a moment of pure happiness, a snapshot of a simpler time.
Setting the photo down, you quickly begin to change into your designated farm clothes, and head out to meet the new face around here.Â
The trek to the barn isnât very long, just a few minutes away from the main house, and from the outside, you can hear the familiar sounds of workâfootsteps crunching on the hay-strewn floor, the creak of wood as something heavy is moved. You pause at the doorway, taking a moment to observe him before stepping inside. Heâs focused, his movements efficient as he lifts another bale of hay and stacks it with the others.Â
You take a deep breath, and step into the barn. âLogan?â you call out softly.
He doesnât stop what heâs doing, but with a slight pause and glance over his shoulder, his eyes, sharp and intense, meet yours, and thereâs a moment where youâre not sure what to say. âIâmââ
âI already know who you are,â he grunts, cutting you off.Â
His abruptness catches you off guard, but you quickly recover, nodding. âRight. I guess that makes sense.â
âIf you wanna help, thereâs a broom in the back shed,â he continues, going back to his work as if the conversation is already over. âYou could sweep up the hay.â
You bristle, a little surprised at how quickly he dismissed you, but youâre determined not to let it rattle you. After all, your grandparents did warn you that he wasnât much of a talker. âSure,â you say. âI can do that.â
As you turn to head toward the back shed, you find yourself lightly imitating his gruff tone under your breath, a flicker of irritation running through you. âThereâs a broom in the back shed. Yeah, obviously, I know where the broom would be,â you mutter.
In the shed, the broom is in fact, exactly where you expected it to be, and you huff, grabbing it and walking back to the barn. When you return, Logan is still hard at work, stacking the hay, and doesnât bother to acknowledge you yet again. You set to work sweeping, the rhythmic motion of the broom soon lulling you into a steady state. The barn is quiet, save for the soft shuffling of hay under your broom and the occasional grunt from Logan as he moves the heavy bales.
Time seems to pass slowly, the light outside growing softer as the sun dips lower in the sky. Youâre so caught up in your thoughts that you barely notice when Loganâs footsteps stop. Itâs only when his voice breaks the silence that youâre pulled back to the present.
âYour grandma called for dinner,â he says, causing you to jump a bit at the unexpectedness of his voice in the silence. Before you can respond, he turns and walks away, leaving you standing there with the broom still in hand. You let out a small sigh, feeling the tension in your shoulders. This is going to be a long few months, you think to yourself as you return the broom to its usual place and jog back to the farmhouse.
Inside, the kitchen smells like a warm hearty stew. The table is already set, the familiar blue-and-white checkered tablecloth in place, and your grandparents are seated, chatting quietly as they wait for you and Logan to join them.
You slide into the seat across from your grandmother just as Logan walks over from the sink, two glasses of water in his hands. He places one in front of you with a quick nod, and the other at his own seat, beside yours.
âSo,â your grandmother says, her eyes shining with curiosity as she looks between the both of you. âI take it youâve introduced yourselves to each other?â
You hesitate momentarily, your mind flashing back to your brief encounter in the barn. âYeah, we have,â you reply, managing a smile, if you can call it that.Â
Logan doesnât say anything, his focus on the bowl of stew in front of him. He doesnât seem interested in joining the conversation, which only adds to the growing sense of awkwardness you feel. You glance at him briefly, wondering if heâs always this closed off or if itâs just his way of dealing with new people.
âWell, thatâs good,â your grandmother says, either oblivious to the tension or choosing to ignore it. âLoganâs been a big help around here. Weâre so grateful to have him.â
Your grandfather hums in agreement, scooping a spoonful of stew into his mouth before adding, âHeâs got a strong work ethic. Doesnât shy away from the tough jobs, thatâs for sure.â
Nodding along, you feel the pressure to say something positive. âThatâs great. Itâs good to know the farmâs in good hands.â Even thought the words are definitely a bit forced, you mean it.Â
As the conversation continues, your grandparents shift the focus to you, asking about your job search and what youâve been up to since you last visited. You give them a brief rundown of the interviews youâve had, the options youâre considering, and the challenges youâve faced. You try to keep it light, not wanting to worry them with your uncertainty, but you canât help but notice the manâs presence beside you, still silent.Â
At one point, when youâre talking about finding a new apartment, you hear him let out a quiet scoff, and you cast a look over, catching the faintest hint of a smirk on his lips. Itâs gone almost as quickly as it appears, but itâs enough to make you pause. You want to ask him what that was about, to challenge him on whatever it is heâs thinking, but you bite your tongue. This isnât the time or place, not in front of your grandparents who are just happy to have everyone around the table.
They continue to chat with you, asking more about your plans and offering their usual words of encouragement. When dinner finally wraps up, your grandmother insists on cleaning up, waving you off when you offer to help. âYouâve had a long day, dear. Why donât you go relax? Logan can help me with the dishes.â
You smile. âThanks, Grandma.â
Heâs already started collecting the dishes by the time you stand up, but itâs like he refuses to recognize your existence, and that pisses you off.Â
â
The next morning, you wake before dawn, the world still wrapped in the gentle embrace of night, and for a moment, you lie still, listening to the deep, pulsing of the houseâthe way the wooden floors creak slightly as they settle, the distant sound of the wind rustling through the trees outside. The comfort of knowing your grandparents are asleep down the hall brings a sense of calm that you havenât felt in a long time.
Deciding to take advantage of the early hour, you slip out of bed, your feet brushing against the cool floor as you stretch, feeling the muscles in your body slowly wake. You dress quietly, pulling on a soft, worn sweater, and pad downstairs, careful to avoid the spots on the stairs that you know will creak.
You move through the kitchen as if on autopilot, your hands knowing exactly where everything is. You set the coffee to brew, and the rich aroma sills the room.
Reaching for the eggs, you crack a few of them into a bowl, and as youâre whisking, you let your mind wander, thinking about how to spend the day. The soft sizzle of butter in the pan gets your attention and you pour the eggs in, watching as they begin to set around the edges.Â
You pour yourself a cup of coffee, the steam rising from the mug in delicate spirals, and you take a sip, savouring the warmth and flavour hitting your tongue, while your gaze drifts over to the window that faces the back of the farmhouse.Â
Your grandparentsâ own horses, and you recognize some of them from when you were younger. It makes you happy knowing that theyâre still being well taken care of. The way the early light touches the land, and the morning dew covers the grass, you canât help but smile into your mug.Â
Slowly, you walk a bit closer to the window, eager to take in the view you had been missing all these years, when a figure standing over by the horses catches your eye. Itâs Logan, a small surprise given the early hourâyou didnât hear him wake upâbut he stands there, leaning casually against the fence, an apple in his hand.Â
You watch as he holds out the apple to one of the horses, his rough hand moving gently over its neck as it eats. Thereâs something unexpectedly tender in the way he interacts with the animal, a patience and care that you didnât expect to see from him, given how he acted yesterday.Â
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out another apple, offering it to the second horse, who hungrily accepts it. You continue to stare at the sight outside. This side of himâso different from the unapproachable exterior heâs shown so farâstirs something inside you, a desire to connect with him, to see if thereâs more to him than meets the eye.
On impulse, you quickly turn off the stove, grab a second cup of coffee and some toast youâve just buttered, and without overthinking it, you head outside. The morning air is cool against your skin as you make your way over to Logan.Â
As you approach, he keeps his attention focused on the horses. You take a moment, then clear your throat lightly, holding out the coffee with a tentative smile. âThought you might want some breakfast,â you offer, trying to keep your tone light and friendly.
He finally glances at you, his eyes briefly meeting yours. His expression is just as unreadable his had been in the last sixteen hours youâve known him, and then he grunts, âAlready ate,â and turns his attention back to the animals in front of him.
His curt, and honestly rude rebuffals really frustrate you. Itâs not like youâre asking him to wipe your ass after you go to the washroom, so you have absolutely no idea why heâs like this.Â
âAlright,â you mutter, lips pressed together in a thin line, and turn to head back into the kitchen.Â
Once inside, you set the untouched coffee and toast back on the counter with a sigh. This is so fucking awkward. Youâre going to be spending the next however-many-months with him, and you would love it if you could at the very least, get along. His rough-around-the-edges personality is not making this enjoyable for you, and youâre sure that he probably just seeâs you as an annoying nuisance.Â
And itâs not like youâre ever going to pull this card on him or anything, but you have been here longer than him, despite the fact that heâs acting like he owns the place. You get it, heâs been here for a for a while, and itâs only been him doing the work, blah blah. But youâve been helping and doing the work your entire childhoodâmissing a few years doesnât take away that fact.Â
With a heavy sigh, you open a cupboard and pull out a plate, scraping the eggs off the pan and setting them on it. Because your grandparentsâ are still asleep, all you can do is eat in silence.
â
Youâve decided that today you are going to trim the grass. Thereâs always something to do around here, and since the long grass was one of the first things you noticed upon arrival, you think itâs best to just get that chore over with, considering how long you know it will take.Â
Once youâve finished cleaning the dishes and pan, you go back upstairs into your room and get changed. Today, you put on a long sleeve, and a small vest over top. Your pants are some hand-me-down working pants from one of your older cousins, and you snatch a baseball cap from your closet for when it begins to get hotter out.Â
Walking to the back shed, you grab some tools for trimming the lawn. A lawn mower, a string trimmer, and a rake for after everythingâs been cut. Moving over to the back section of the lawn, you set the trimmer and rake against the barn and start using the mower. Itâs the same one your grandparents have used since you were a child, so itâs a reel lawn mower instead of those newer, more electrical ones youâve seen around the city.Â
You canât really complain about it, so you just begin, the steady repetitive action of moving the tool back and forth being somewhat therapeutic. The smell of freshly cut grass begins to hit your senses, and you truly feel at peace.Â
As the minutes pass, the sun rises higher, its warmth spreading across the fields. Youâre completely absorbed in your work, the rhythm of mowing and the occasional chirp of birds the only sounds around you. Youâve missed this. The sounds of cars honking and early morning city traffic has nothing on the serenity of country life.Â
Youâre just completing the first half when you sense movement nearby. Glancing up, you see Logan walking up to you, having grabbed the trimmer. He doesnât say anything, just starts up the machine and heads over to the next patch of grass within the area.
Thereâs a brief moment of eye-contact, like a subtle unspoken recognition to the effort you seem to be putting in. He gives you a small nod, and turns to focus on his task. The two of you work side by side, the hum of the machines, the scent of fresh-cut grass, and the warm sun overhead creating a strangely comforting atmosphere.Â
When you finally finish, few hours have passed, and you walk back over to the barn and grab a lawn bag and the rake. And because Loganâs machine was electric, he seems to have finished his section as well, so you begin raking up all the stray pieces of grass.Â
You quick to find out how awkward it is to hold the lawn bag open with one hand while trying to rake with the otherâthe grass keeps slipping out of the bag, and you canât help but feel a bit ridiculous as you fumble with the task. You scan around, hoping Logan wonât notice, but of course, heâs right there, watching as you flail around.
You feel a flush of embarrassment creep up your neck, but before you can say anything, he steps forward. Like usual it seems, he doesnât say a word, just holds out his hand as if asking for the rake. You falter briefly, not wanting to seem like you need his help, but at the same time you understand how much more efficient it would be if he joined.Â
Reluctantly, you hand it over, and he immediately starts working with the same steady efficiency he brought to trimming the grass. With both hands free, you manage the lawn bag more effectively, holding it open as Logan rakes the grass into neat piles.
The silence between you isnât uncomfortable; instead, it feels like a natural extension of the morningâs work. The sound of the rake scraping against the ground, the rustle of grass being gathered, and the occasional whinny from a horse nearby.Â
After the last of the grass is finally raked and bagged, you tie off the lawn bag and glance over at him. He leans the rake against the barn wall and meets your gaze. Thereâs something in the way he seems to stare at you head on this time, rather than just a quick look, that makes your chest fill with satisfaction.Â
You nod. âThanks.â
Logan dips his chin in return, then turns and heads back toward the barn. The heat of the sun really starts to hit you now, and you take a peak at your watch, noticing that itâs already lunch time. Knowing that even if you tried to invite him, heâs probably say no, you just walk back to the farmhouse alone.Â
â
The next couple of weeks unfold in the same way, moving with an almost predictable rhythm. Each morning, you wake before the sun, quietly slipping out of bed while your grandparentâs are still asleep. As you prepare and eat breakfast, you take your usual place by the kitchen window, watching as Logan interacts with the horses.Â
Then, as the sun rises higher, you head out to begin your chores around the farm. Sometimes, Logan joins you without a wordâhis presence now a familiar and abating part of your routineâor sometimes, you find yourself working alone, but even then, you know heâs never far away.Â
Youâve learned to read his silences, to understand that his gruff demeanor isnât necessarily unfriendliness, but rather his way of navigating the world. And though he doesnât speak much, his actions have a way of communicating more than words ever could.
One morning, as youâre finishing up breakfast, your grandparents announce their plans to head into one of the nearby cities for the day. âWe need to run some errands and pick up a few things,â your grandmother explains, her hands busy packing a small bag. âBut we were thinking it might be nice for the horses to get out and see some different scenery too.â
âThey havenât been to the pond in a while. Itâs good for them to stretch their legs and take in some new sights.â Your grandfather chimes in.Â
You nod, smiling at the thought. The pond is a beautiful spot, a peaceful place where the water runs clear and cool, surrounded by tall trees and soft grass. Itâs the perfect place to spend a day with the horses. âThat sounds like a great idea. Iâll take them out there for the day.â
Your grandmotherâs eyes light up as she hands you a basket. âI packed some food and a blanket for a picnic. There are also a couple of towels in case you want to swim. Itâll be a lovely day for it.â
âThank you,â you say, appreciating the thoughtfulness behind the preparations. You take the basket and head upstairs to get ready, the idea of spending the day by the pond filling you with excitement. Itâs been a long time since youâve been there last.Â
In your room, you change into your bathing suit, a simple bikini that youâve always loved for its comfort and ease. You slip on a loose shirt and shorts over it, then grab a few essentials before heading back downstairs. Your grandparents have already left, so you make your way out to the barn to prepare the horses.
As you start saddling them up, you notice Logan nearby, focused on his usual tasks. His presence has become so customary to you that you hardly think twice before calling out to him. âHey, Logan,â you say, catching his attention.
âIâm heading to the pond with the horses,â you tell him, nodding toward the saddled horses. âGrandmaâs packed some food and a blanket for a picnic. There are even towels if you want to swim. Youâre welcome to join us if youâd like.â
He hesitates, his gaze shifting to the horses, then back to you. After a moment, he mutters, âIâve never ridden a horse before.â
The admission takes you by surprise, and you raise an eyebrow. âReally? But youâve been here for over a year. I just assumedââ
He shakes his head slightly, cutting you off. âIâve always just walked alongside them. Holdinâ onto the reins is one thing, but Iâve never actually been on top of one.â
You canât help the small smile that tugs at your lips. âThatâs okay,â you say gently. âYou can still join us. You can walk alongside like you usually do, and tomorrow, if youâre up for it, Iâll teach you how to ride.â
Logan peers at you for a long moment, considering your words. Finally, he nods. âAlright. Iâll come with you.â
âGreat,â you reply, your smile widening. âI think youâll enjoy it.â
With that settled, you both finish preparing for the trip. Logan helps you load the picnic basket, blanket, and towels onto one of the horses. You mount your favourite horse, and gently click your heels into its side, starting the trip as he begins walking, horses in tow, beside you.Â
The journey to the pond is beautiful. The green trees that frame the pathway, the soft buzzing of nature, the sound of the horsesâ hooves. You and Logan exchange a few words, but for the most part, itâs silent.Â
When you reach the pond, the sight is just as picturesque as you remembered. The water sparkles under the sunlight, the tall trees casting dappled shadows across the grassy bank. You untie the horses, giving them plenty of room to graze and explore, before you grab the picnic basket, while he grabs the towels and blankets. Making your way over to the other side of the creek, you find a nice open patch of grass to set up on.
âIâm going for a quick dip,â you say as you go about stepping out of your shorts. Logan, who is sitting down, looks up, but his eyes seem to stop dead in their tracks when they settle on your body. You swear you can physically see his gaze darken as he takes in the sight of you stripping off your shirt. Itâs subtle, but a small shiver runs down your spine at the attention nonetheless.
Without waiting for a response, you turn and and head toward the pond. The temperature is perfect: just cool enough to be refreshing without being cold.
You dive in, the reservoir embracing you as a much-needed relief from the heat. Everything feels perfectâthe gentle current against your skin, the refreshing sensation of being submerged, and the weightlessness of floating just beneath the surface.Â
But when you lift your head out of the water, you and Logan immediately lock eyes.
Heâs lying back on the blanket, propped up on one elbow, and his focus is squarely on you. The intensity of his stare is like a physical force, pinning you in place. The world around you seems to fade away, leaving just the two of you suspended in time. Your breath catches in your throat, and you can feel a heat build within you, starting in your chest and traveling down, deeper, and deeperâŠBut then, just as suddenly as it began, he looks away, and if you were any closer, you may have been able to spot the red flush creeping up the back of his neck and to the tip of his ears.
The moment is over, but the enduring feeling of it stays with you as you swim back to the shore. Water drips from your body as you step out, and you reach for one of the towels your grandmother packed. Once youâve dried off, you walk over to where Logan is sitting and drop down beside him on the blanket.Â
You are aware of eyes on you again, though this time thereâs a hesitation in the way they travel over your form, as if heâs trying to be discreet but canât quite help himself. You pretend not to notice as you reach for the picnic basket.
âIâm starving,â you say, pulling out the sandwiches your grandmother packed. âWant one?â
He nods, sitting up a little straighter as you hand him a sandwich. After a few bites, curiosity gets the better of you, and you decide to break the ice. âSo,â you start, glancing over at him, âhow did you end up here, working on my grandparentsâ farm?â
He takes his time chewing and swallowing before he answers, his eyes focused on the food in his hands. âI was passing through,â he says finally. âDidnât plan on stayinâ. But your grandparents⊠theyâre good people. Needed help, so I stuck around.â
You nod, taking another bite. âThey are good people,â you agree, thinking of how much theyâve done for you over the years. âBut where were you headed before that? Where are you from?â
Logan pauses for a moment, then looks over at you. âAlberta,â he says. âGrew up there, mostly. Been a lot of places since, but Albertaâs homeâor was.â
You smile, finding comfort in the fact that heâs sharing a bit more. âAlbertaâs beautiful,â you say, remembering the few times youâd traveled through the province. âWhyâd you leave?â
He shrugs, glancing out toward the creek. âNeeded a change. Wanted to see what else was out there. Guess I got used to movinâ around, never really settlinâ anywhere.â
You nod thoughtfully, taking in his words. âMust have been hard, never really having a place to call home.â
His gaze meets yours, and thereâs a hint of something softer in his eyes. âYeah,â he admits, his voice quieter. âBut your grandparents⊠theyâve made it easier. This farm⊠itâs good.â
You smile warmly at him. âIâm glad youâre here. Youâve been a huge help to them. And⊠well, Iâve liked having you around.â
He glances at you, his expression softening just a fraction. âYeah, itâs been alright,â he mutters, a small, imperceptible smirk on his lips. You smile bashfully.
The next couple of hours pass by in a blur. Not much conversation happens, but rather, these weird periods of time where you feel as though your eyes are glued to him, and he you. Itâs differentâunexpectedâand to put it frankly, you feel a bit shy underneath his gaze.Â
Logan is attractive, anyone with eyes could see that, but it really wasnât just his face that pulled you in, it was him. The way he would silently help you with chores, his soft moments every morning with the horses, the way he subtly looks over your grandparentsâ when he thinks they arent watching. All of it. You want to spend more time with him, learn more about who he is, what he likes⊠all of it.
Soon enough, you both begin to pack up the picnic supplies, load up the horses, and head back to the farm. The horses seem content, having had a fun day grazing and napping by the pond, and you ride beside him as he walks. Every now and then, you catch him peeking up at you from under his eyelashes, his eyes lingering just a bit longer each time.Â
You can see your grandparentâs car in the driveway as you near the farm, meaning theyâve also returned from their day in the city. Leading the horses back into the barn, the two of you go through the motions of the familiar routine of unsaddling them, brushing them down, and making sure theyâre comfortable for the night.Â
Once theyâre all settled for the night, Logan steps back, wiping his hands on his jeans as he looks at you.Â
âSo âbout tomorrowâŠâ He begins, shifting slightly, as if unsure how to phrase what he wants to say. âYou really think you can teach me to ride?â
You grin excitedly. âOf course. Iâll come out after Iâve eaten breakfast.â
âAlright then,â he says, pivoting toward the doors, his lips twitching just barely, but enough. âLookinâ forward to it.â
Your fingers are twitching at your sides as you watch him leave. You wait a few moments, then head out as well, closing and locking up the barn for the night. When you step into the house, you find your grandparents in the living room, their faces lit by the soft glow of a lamp as they relax on the chesterfield.Â
âHow was your day?â your grandmother asks, looking up from her knitting with a bright smile.
âIt was nice,â you reply. âThe horses loved it, and the pond was as beautiful as ever. We had a picnic, and it was really peaceful.â
Your grandfather, whoâs been quietly sipping his tea, sets down his cup and regards you with a knowing look. âAnd Logan? Did he go with you?â
You nod, feeling a bit of warmth rise to your cheeks at the mention of their helper. âYeah, he came along. Heâs never ridden a horse before, so he just walked with us. But Iâm going to teach him tomorrow.â
Your grandparents exchange a look, and your grandmotherâs eyes sparkle with amusement and something more tender as she smiles at you. âThatâs good, dear. Heâs a bit of a mystery, that one, but I can tell heâs got a good heart. Sometimes people just need a little time to open up.â
Chatting with your grandparentâs a bit longer, you listen intently as they fill you in on their activities. You can faintly hear the sound of Loganâs footsteps upstairs as he gets ready for bed. The memory of his gaze on you makes your heart beat a smidge faster.Â
â
Logan is unsurprisingly already at the barn when you arrive the next morning. Heâs leaning against it, arms crossed over his chest.Â
âMorning,â you greet. âYou ready to get started?â
Logan glances at the horses, then back at you. âReady as Iâll ever be.â
You lead him over to the horses, choosing one of the gentler ones for him to work with, and begin by showing him how to properly saddle the horse, explaining each step as you go. Logan watches intently, though you can see the slight furrow in his brow as he takes in all the information.
As soon as the horse is all saddled up, you hand him the reins. âOkay, now itâs your turn. Go ahead and mount up.â
He wavers for just a moment, his eyes on the horse as if weighing his options. But then, with a deep breath, he grabs the saddle and swings himself up with ease. He sits stiffly at first, his hands gripping the reins a bit too tightly, but he doesnât look as uncomfortable as you would have expected. Definitely better than your first attempt.
âYouâre doing great,â you reassure him, moving to stand beside the horse. âJust relax. The horse can sense if youâre tense, so try to loosen up a bit.â
He takes another breath, visibly trying to relax his posture. Itâs clear that heâs out of his comfort zone, but heâs determined to push through. You walk him through the basics of steering and controlling the horse, keeping your tone calm and encouraging.
After a few minutes, you guide him around the paddock, walking alongside the horse to make sure he feels secure. Logan follows your instructions with serious concentration, his movements becoming more and more natural as he gets used to the rhythm of the horseâs steps.
âYouâre doing really well,â you tell him, smiling up at him. âWant to try picking up the pace a little?â
He glances down at you warily at first, but then he nods. âYeah. Letâs give it a shot.â
You guide him through a gentle trot, staying close enough to offer guidance but giving him enough space to figure things out on his own. The horse picks up speed, and you watch as he adjusts, his body moving in sync with the animalâs movements. Thereâs a moment when he looks down at you, a spark of surprise in his eyes as he realizes heâs actually getting the hang of it.
As the morning progresses, Logan becomes more comfortable in the saddle, his confidence growing with each passing minute. You spend the next hour practicing different techniques, guiding him through turns, stops, and even a slow canter. Heâs a quick learner, and despite the initial awkwardness, you can tell heâs starting to enjoy himself.
Eventually, you lead him back to the paddock, bringing the horse to a stop. He dismounts, still a bit tense but clearly pleased with himself. He hands you the reins, his eyes meeting yours with a look thatâs both grateful and slightly sheepish.
âNot bad for a first-timer,â you say with a grin, patting the horseâs neck.
He huffs a small laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. âYeah, well⊠youâre a good teacher.â
The compliment, simple as it is, makes your heart skip a beat. Thereâs something about the way he says it, the sincerity in his tone, that makes you feel a warm glow inside. He begins to walk toward the back shed, undoubtedly going to start on his morning chores, but you find yourself wanting to hold onto this moment just a bit longer.Â
âLogan,â you call out, stopping him in his tracks.
He turns back, his eyes questioning.
âThanks for this morning. I really enjoyed it.â
Logan studies you for a second, then he gives you a small smile. âYeah,â he says quietly. âMe too.â
â
The days come and go, blending into one another as your first month at the farm passes by in what feels like the blink of an eye. The sun seems to rise earlier and set later with each passing day, stretching the hours out in a way that makes everything feel both languid and endless, and the heat only intensifies, something you didnât think was possible.Â
Despite the longer days and rising temperatures, you and Loganâs daily routines have now intertwined in a way that feels as natural as breathing. The once solitary moments you spent watching him out with the horses have now become something shared. Every morning, without fail, the two of you meet by the barn, where the horses greet you with soft nickers and eager eyes, ready for their daily ride.
Heâs improved a lot. He no longer looks uncomfortable or stiff, and heâs able to guide his horse with an ease that surprises even him. You can see the subtle shift in his posture, the way he holds the reins with a sureness that wasnât there before.Â
And just like when you work on the farm together, sometimes, the two of you ride in a comfortable silenceâthe only sounds being the soft snorts of the horses and the creak of leather saddles. But more often than not, you chat about everything and nothing, your conversations easy and unforced.Â
Logan, who once spoke only in short, clipped sentences, has begun to open up more, sharing bits and pieces of his past, his thoughts, and his observations about life on the farm. You learn that he has a sarcastic, dry sense of humor, one that often catches you off guard and leaves you laughing in spite of yourself. He even joins you for your usual morning breakfast of eggs and toast, something that started only a few days into your new morning ritual.Â
Yet throughout all of this, thereâs a something growing between you and Logan, simmering just beneath the surface.Â
It manifests in the little moments, the stolen glances, and the accidental touches that donât really seem to be as accidental as you may think. Itâs in the way his eyes follow you when he thinks youâre not looking, how they intensify when you laugh, or how he seems to fixate on your hands as you work, as if heâs memorizing every movement.Â
Youâre not immune to it either. You find yourself hyper-aware of his presence, the way his proximity seems to alter the air around you. In one afternoon, youâre in the barn, and sorting through a pile of hay bales. Itâs hard, sweaty work, but the itâs kind that leaves you with a satisfying ache in your muscles by the end of the day. Logan is beside you, lifting the heavy bales with ease, his shirt sticking to his back, outlining the broad expanse of his shoulders. You catch yourself staring, and quickly look away, but not before he flicks his eyes over to yours.
He doesnât say anything, but you can see it in his eyes. Itâs like theyâre telling you that he knows exactly what you were thinking, where you were staring.Â
And when youâre both tending to the horses, something happens again. Youâre brushing one down, your fingers working through its mane, when Logan comes to stand beside you, so close that you can smell his natural musk.Â
âHere, let me help,â he says lowly, not waiting for a response as he reaches out, his hand covering yours. You glance up at him, and heâs already looking down at you. Youâre acutely aware of the feel of his hand over yours, the callousness of his skin against your own, and the way his thumb brushes lightly over your knuckles as if testing the waters.
Another time, while fixing the fence out in the field, youâre both working in tandem, passing tools back and forth. At one point, you reach for a hammer at the same time Logan does, and your fingers brush against his. Itâs a fleeting touch, but it feels like a spark in the summer heat, and for a heartbeat, you both freeze, caught in that split second of contact.
âSorry,â you mumble, pulling your hand back, but the apology feels hollow in the face of what youâre actually feeling.
âNo problem,â Logan replies, his voice gruffer than usual, as he hands you the tool.Â
You can feel it. Youâre not stupid. You know something is there, and you wonder how much longer you can resist itâhow much longer you can pretend that everything is fine. But Logan is a hard man to read, and youâre not sure if what youâre feeling is reciprocated, or if itâs just wishful thinking on your part. So you stay silent, letting the tension simmer, hoping that one day, one of you will have the courage to break it.
â
Youâre not the only who seeâs it.Â
âYou know,â your grandmother says one afternoon, as youâre helping them with a puzzle. âLogan has really come out of his shell since youâve been here.â
You blink, and glance over at her. âWhat do you mean?â
She looks up from the table, her eyes twinkling with a mischievous light. âOh, you know exactly what I mean,â she says with a knowing smile. âHeâs been here for over a year, and in all that time, weâve never seen him quite like this. Heâs always been polite, of course, but distant. Reserved. But now⊠well, itâs clear heâs become quite comfortable around you.â
Your grandfather places a piece in the board and nods in agreement. âSheâs right, you know. Loganâs always been a bit of a mystery, keeps to himself mostly. But ever since you arrived, heâs been different. More⊠engaged, I suppose you could say.â
You feel a flush of heat rising to your cheeks, your heart skipping a beat at their words. âI-I donât know about that,â you stammer, trying to brush it off. âWe just⊠work together a lot. Thatâs all.â
Chuckling, your grandmother leans forward slightly. âDarling, donât be modest. Itâd be obvious to anyone that thereâs something going on between the two of you. Heâs practically a different man when heâs around you. Why, just the other day, I caught him actually smiling while you two were out riding. I nearly fainted!â
âYouâve managed to do in weeks what we couldnât do in a year. Whatever it is, itâs good for him. And for you, too, Iâd wager,â your grandfather pipes in, sending you a wink.Â
Fidgeting with your hands, you feel like a deer caught in headlights, and youâre honestly not sure how to respond. âWeâre⊠friends,â you say, though the words feel inadequate even as you say them.Â
The woman across from you raises an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. âHmm? Well, maybe so. But it seems to me that thereâs potential for something more there, if youâre both willing to see it.â
âI⊠I donât know,â you mumble, feeling flustered under their scrutiny. âHeâs just⊠heâs a complicated person.â
âEveryoneâs complicated, dear,â your grandfather says gently. âBut that doesnât mean theyâre not worth the effort. Oftentimes, the best things in life are the ones that take the most time to understand.â
Thereâs a moment of silence as their words sink in, the weight of their observations leaving you feeling exposed and uncertain. You hadnât fully allowed yourself to consider what you felt, let alone what Logan felt. But now, with your grandparentsâ teasing remarks, itâs impossible to ignore the possibility that there might be something more between you and Logan than just a budding friendship.
Your grandmother reaches over and gives your hand a comforting squeeze. âJust take it one day at a time, sweetheart. Whatever happens, weâre here for you.â
â
The following week, you find yourself itching for something newâa change in scenery. While the farm has been everything youâve wanted and more, you think itâd be nice to go on a drive, explore a small laketown you used to go to when you were younger. So, one morning, as you and Logan are unsaddling the horses, you muster the courage to extend an invitation thatâs been on your mind for days.
âSoâŠ,â you begin, trying to keep your tone casual. âI was thinking⊠maybe we could take a break from the farm this weekend and go into town. You know, just to get out for a bit, see something different.â
He pauses in his work, his hand stilling on the brush as he peers over at you with a raised eyebrow. âThe town?â he repeats, as if the idea is foreign to him.
âYeah,â you say, turning to face him fully. âI need to pick up a few things, and I thought it might be nice to have some company. We could grab lunch, maybe do some exploring⊠It doesnât have to be anything fancy. Just a change of pace.â
Thereâs a beat of silence as he considers your offer. His expression is guarded, as always, but you can see the wheels turning in his mind. Itâs clear that the idea of leaving the farm, even for a day, is something he hasnât done in a long timeâif ever.
âI donât know,â he eventually gets out, his tone uncertain. âBusy places are not really my thing.â
You feel a pang of disappointment at his hesitation, but youâre not ready to give up just yet. âI get that,â you say. âBut itâs not about how many people are there, really. Itâs about taking a break. Youâve been working so hard, and I think you deserve a day to relax. Plus, I could use your help carrying a few things,â you tease, hoping to coax him into agreeing.
Loganâs lips twitch as if heâs suppressing a smile, and for a split second you think heâs going to turn you down. But then he sighs, running a hand through his hair. âAlright,â he says, the word coming out almost reluctantly. âIâll go.â
You beam, unable to hide your enthusiasm. âWeâll leave early on Saturday, okay?â
âSaturday it is,â he confirms.
â
The rest of the week passes quickly, your anticipation for the trip into town growing with each passing day. You find yourself planning out the day in your head, imagining the places you might visit, the food you might try, and most of all, the chance to see Logan in a different environmentâaway from the farm and the routine that has defined your relationship so far.
So, when Saturday morning arrives, youâre up before the sun, too excited to sleep in. You dress in your favourite casual clothesâsomething comfortable but a bit more put-together than your usual farm attireâand head downstairs, where you find your grandparents surprisingly already up and about.
âOff to the city today, are you?â your grandmother asks with a smile as she hands you a thermos of coffee for the road.
âYep,â you reply, unable to keep the grin off your face. âand Iâm dragging Logan along with me.â
Your grandfather chuckles, shaking his head. âWell, that should be interesting. Donât think heâs much of a city slicker.â
âBe patient with him, dear,â your grandmother adds, laughing. âHeâs stepping out of his comfort zone for you.â
âI will,â you promise, taking the coffee and heading out the door.
Loganâs already waiting by the truck, and when you see him, you canât help but falter in your steps. The shirt heâs wearing clings to his muscular frame in a way that draws your eyes, accentuating the strength thatâs always been evident. His hair is slightly disheveled, and thereâs an almost shy quality to the way he stands there, his hands shoved into his pockets as if heâs not quite sure what to do with them.
You try to hide the fact that you were just checking him out as you ask, âReady?âÂ
ââCourse,â he replies, climbing into the passenger seat as you slide behind the wheel.
The highways are empty and the sky is clear. You chat easily about the things you need to pick up, the cute boutiques you want to visit, and even a few memories of the last time you visited the place. Logan listens more than he talks, but you can tell heâs starting to relax, the tightness in his shoulders easing as the distance passes by.
When you finally reach the town, the energy along the streets is a stark contrast to the quiet calm of the farm. The buildings tower above you, and the sidewalks are crowded with people going about their day.Â
Stepping out of the truck, you glance over at Logan. Itâs clear that heâs out of his element, but thereâs something cute about the way he takes it all in. âWhere to first?â He questions.Â
âWell,â you say, smiling at him, âI was thinking we could grab some breakfast at this little cafĂ© I know, then hit a few shops. Thereâs a bookstore I love that I think youâd like too.â
He nods, his expression softening slightly at the mention of a bookstore. âLead the way.â
You spend the morning wandering around, exploring the shops, and enjoying a nice breakfast together. At the bookstore, you lose track of time, browsing through the shelves and picking out a few titles that catch your eye. Logan surprises you by finding a book on woodworking, something heâs always been interested in but never had much time for. You can see the way his eyes light up as he flips through the pages, and it makes you smile, happy to see him enjoying something for himself.
After spending a few more hours of exploring, you suggest one last stop before heading backâa lookout point that offers a stunning view of the lake and the surrounding landscape. Logan agrees, and you drive up to the spot, parking the truck and leading him to a bench that overlooks the water.
The view is breathtaking. You both sit in silence for a while, just taking in the scenery, allowing the peacefulness of the moment to wash over you. He is staring out into the water with a thoughtful expression when you decide to interrupt his stupor.
âLogan,â you begin, the gentle breeze from the lake rustling through the trees, âwhat did you think of me when we first met?â
He turns his head slightly, his eyes meeting yours with a hint of surprise, as if he wasnât expecting the question. Then he pauses for a moment, looking back out at the lake, as if gathering his thoughts.
âI thought you were different,â he says slowly, each word carefully chosen. âYou didnât act like you were above the work. You jumped right in, got your hands dirty. Most people wouldnât do that.â
You smile at the memory, remembering how you started working together the moment you met. After all, you werenât just a visitorâyou were there to help, and you knew your way around the farm. âAnd now?â you ask, your heart beginning to beat just a little faster.
He remains quiet for a few moments, his focus still on the water. When he finally speaks, heâs timid, almost bashful, as if heâs revealing something heâs kept hidden for a long time.Â
âI think youâre beautiful,â he admits, his eyes flickering back to yours. âI thought that the first time I saw you, too. It was one of the first things that hit me. But itâs more than that. Now⊠now I think youâre perfect.â
The sincerity in his words catches you off guard, leaving you momentarily speechless. Your mouth parts in surprise, and all you can do is gawk, trying to process the depth of what heâs just said.
Logan shifts slightly, his gaze dropping to his hands as he continues. âI was⊠cold at first,â he murmurs, âDidnât know how else to act. You werenât like anyone Iâd ever met. I didnât know how to handle it. But what really got to me was how you didnât shy away from thatâyou didnât let my attitude push you away. That changed somethinâ in me.â
You want to say somethingâyou should say somethingâto acknowledge what he just said, bearing in mind that was probably the most amount of words to come out of his mouth in one go, but for some reason, you canât. The only thought running through your head is that you want to reach out and touch him, to close the small distance between you.
âWhat about you?â His voice is slightly more tentative now, and he definitely just asked that to fill the silence that you were ungraciously leaving. âWhat was your first impression of me?â
His question snaps you out of your thoughts, and you gulp, now knowing that your first impression of him was very different to his of you.Â
âHonestly? I thought you were rude as hell,â you say a bit nervously, watching as his eyebrows raise slightly in surprise. âYou were so gruff, so serious⊠I didnât know what to make of you at first. But then I saw the way you took care of the horses, the way you looked after the farm, and⊠it didnât take long for my opinion to change.â
He shifts, clearly caught off guard. You can see the faintest hint of a blush creeping up his neck as he takes in what you said, and it makes your smile widen.Â
âAndâŠYouâre kind,â you continue. âThereâs this gentleness about you that I wasnât expecting.â You suck in a shaky breath. âI think youâre pretty perfect now too, if Iâm being honest.â
The tint on his cheeks only deepens, and he looks away, flustered. Itâs a rare sightâseeing him like thisâand it makes you swoon.Â
âI donât know about thatâŠâ He mutters, a small, embarrassed smile tugging at the corners of his lips.Â
âI do,â you reply firmly. âYouâre more than you think you are, Logan.â
The genuineness in your words makes him look back at you, his eyes searching yours for somethingâreassurance, maybe, or confirmation that what youâre saying is real. Slowly, almost unconsciously, you both lean in closer, locked in a stare, your breaths mingling as the space between you shrinks. You can see the way his eyes flicker down to your lips, and you feel the same pull, the undeniable urge to close the distance and see what it would feel like to kiss him overriding all your senses.
Your chest pounds as you inch closer, until you can feel the warmth of his breath on your skin. But just as your lips are about to meet, a loud, piercing scream shatters the moment.
You both jerk back, startled, and whip your heads around to see a kid nearby, his face scrunched up in disgust as he frantically wipes at his shoulder. âEw! A seagull just pooped on me!â
The kidâs parents rush over, trying to console him as they pull out napkins, and you canât help but burst out laughing at the absurdity of the interruption. The sound of your laughter is contagious, and soon Logan is chuckling a bit too.
âWell, thatâs one way to kill the mood,â he mumbles under is breath.
Youâre still laughing, the remnants of your almost-kiss still in the back of your mind, but you know the moment has passed. âYeah,â you agree, trying to catch your breath. âGuess we should be thankful it wasnât us.â
Logan grins, warm and wide. âYeah, maybe we should.â
â
Driving back to the farm, neither of you say a word about what almost transpired at the lookout point, and youâre fine with that. Thereâs no need to fill the silence with words, no need to dissect the moment or what it could have led to. You donât want there to be any sort of pressure between you, any expectations. Even if, deep down, all you want is to climb him like a tree, to feel the solid strength of him beneath your hands, and to finally give in to the attraction thatâs been building throughout your time together.Â
Pulling into the driveway and shutting of the engine, you turn to him, and turns to you, his eyes meeting yours. âThanks for today,â he says sincerely âI⊠liked it.â
You smile, feeling a warmth spread through you at his words. âMe too,â you reply, your voice just as soft. âWe should do it again sometime.â
âYeah,â Logan agrees, his gaze holding yours a hint longer before he turns away, his hand reaching for the door handle. âWe should.â
â
A few days later, as everyone sits around the kitchen table after dinner, the evening suddenly takes on a new tone when your grandmother clears her throat and shoots an exchanges a conspiratorial glance at your grandfather.
âWeâve got some news,â she begins, her eyes shining with excitement. âYour grandfather and I have been invited to spend a week at the Summersâ cottage by the lake.â
You smile, genuinely happy for them. The Summers are longtime friends of your grandparents, and the idea of them getting a little vacation away sounds perfect. âThat sounds wonderful! You two deserve some time to relax.â
âWell, we thought so too,â your grandfather says. âBut that means weâll be leaving the farm in your capable hands.â
It takes a moment for the full meaning of his words to sink in. You and Logan⊠alone⊠for an entire week.
Your heart skips a beat and you glimpse over at Logan, whoâs sitting across the table from you, his expression neutral as he listens to your grandparents. But thereâs a quick flash of something that suggests heâs as aware of the situation as you are.
A voice brings you back to the moment. âNow, donât worry,â she says with a reassuring smile. âThereâs not much that needs doing, just the usual stuff. And weâll be back before you know it.â
Your grandfather leans back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest as he scans between you and Logan. âWe trust you both to keep everything running smoothly,â he says, before he drops his voice to an embarrassingly low tone. âAnd to keep an eye on each other.â
You canât help but blush at his not-so-subtle innuendo, and you quickly drop your gaze to your hands, trying to hide the warmth creeping up your cheeks. The thought of spending an entire week alone with Logan is both thrilling and nerve-wracking. The lack of a bufferâyour grandparentsâmeans that literally anything could happen.Â
âDonât worry,â you finally manage to say. âWeâve got this. You two just enjoy your time away.â
Logan, who has been uncharacteristically quiet during the conversation, finally speaks up. âYeah,â he agrees, âWeâll take care of everything.â
â
Over the next couple of days, your grandparents pack their bags and make sure everything is in order before they leave. You help them with the small details, ensuring that the house is stocked with food and that all the usual chores are delegated properly.
Finally, the morning of their departure arrives. You stand by the front door, watching as your grandparents load their bags into the car. Your grandmother gives you a warm hug, âTake care, dear,â she says, kissing your cheek before hopping into the passengerâs seat.Â
Your grandfather shakes Loganâs hand, giving him a firm nod. âTake care of things.â
He hums. âI will. Enjoy yourselves.â
With that, your grandparents climb into the car, and after a final wave, they drive down the long, dusty road that leads away from the farm.Â
Thereâs a pause.Â
Suddenly, youâve become extremely aware of how close you two are standing.Â
âSo,â you start, hoping to ease a bit of the electricity beginning to spark. âI guess itâs just us now.â
Logan swallows thickly, his adams apple bobbing up and down. âYeah,â he replies a bit deeper than usual. âJust us.â
âWhat should we do first?â you ask as casually as possible.Â
He shrugs slightly, his lips curving into the faintest hint of a smile. âSame old, I guess. Canât let everythinâ fall apart right when they leave..â
âTrue. Letâs start with that.â
The two of you move into that familiar routine of farm work. Mucking out the stalls, hauling bags of feed from the shed to the barn, tending to the vegetable garden, you do it all. But even though youâre busy with work, thereâs an underlying jitter to everything you do, a heightened awareness of each otherâs presence that just wasnât there before. And itâs impossible to ignore. Each time you make eyecontact it feels charged, almost like a promise of whatâs to come, and it has your heart racing with exhilaration.Â
That evening, after the chores are done and the sun has dropped below the horizon, youâre in the kitchen, preparing dinner while Logan finishes up outside. The quiet of the farmhouse feels different without your grandparents thereâemptier, yet somehow more intimate. Domestic. You can hear the soft creak of the floorboards as he enters the house, the sound of him washing up in the sink.
And as the evening wears on, you find yourself drawing out cleaning the dishes, not wanting to end the day just yet. Logan stays close, drying the plates and placing them back in the cupboards.
âLong day,â he grunts.
âYeah,â you agree, glancing at him out of the corner of your eye. âBut it was nice. Peaceful.â
His eyes find yours. âPeaceful,â he echoes, though the word seems to hold a different meaning when he says it.
You both stay there, unmoving, until eventually, he takes a step back, as if sensing that the tension between you needs a moment to cool. âIâll check on the barn,â he says gruffly. âMake sure everythingâs locked up for the night.â
âOkay,â you reply, your voice softer than you intended.
Logan leaves to check on the barn, while heâs gone, your thoughts are a whirlwind of anticipation and nervous energy as you busy yourself with finishing up the remaining utensils.Â
Finally, unable to stay inside any longer, you decide to step outside, hoping the cool evening air will help clear your mind. You sink down onto the old porch swing, and pull your knees up to your chest, wrapping your arms around them as you observe the darkened landscape.
A few minutes later, you hear the soft crunch of gravel underfoot, and you glance over your shoulder to see Logan approaching the porch. He walks up the steps and pauses momentarily as if debating whether to join you. Then, with a soft sigh, he settles down beside you, his shoulder just barely brushing against yours.
Itâs now or never, you think. âWe have the place to ourselves now,â you state.Â
He turns his head slightly, giving you a sidelong look, the corner of his mouth quirking up into a small, knowing smirk. âIndeed we do,â he replies.
The simple acknowledgmentâand the way he says itâmakes your pulse quicken, and you canât help the small huff of exasperation that escapes your lips. Heâs always been so tame, so careful with his words, and while you appreciate the way heâs respected your space, youâre done with tiptoeing around.
âDo I need to spell it out for you, orââ But before you can finish the sentence, Logan moves.Â
His hand reaches out, rough and warm, to cup the back of your head. Your eyes widen, and your heart thuds in your chest upon realizing whatâs about to happen. And with a firm but gentle pull, he closes the distance between you, his lips crashing against yours.
You lose track of your surroundingsâthe night, the farm, everythingâas you give yourself into feel of his lips against yours. Itâs intense and claiming, a declaration of everything youâve both been too afraid to say.
His hand tangles in your hair, holding you close as he deepens the kiss, his other hand coming to rest on your waist, pulling you closer until thereâs no space left between you. Your hands find their way to his shoulders, gripping the fabric of his shirt as if to ground yourself in the moment, to make sure this is real, that heâs really here, kissing you.
Moving your lips against his with equal fervor, you pour the longing youâve been feeling all this time into it. The taste of him is intoxicating. Itâs something thatâs so uniquely himâso uniquely Loganâand you canât get enough. Youâve imagined this moment in the dead of night, but nothing compares to the reality of itâto the way he kisses you like youâre the only thing that matters.
When you finally pull back, out of breath and a little dazed, Loganâs forehead rests against yours, his breath coming in heavy, uneven pants. His eyes are smoldering and intense and his smirk is gone, replaced by a deep look of yearning.
âIâve wanted to do that for a long time,â he admits huskily. The way his voice has dropped three octaves isnât missed on you. You can practically feel it vibrate down in your puâ
âYouâre not the only one,â You whisper, interrupting your own thoughts. The connection between you has finally been acknowledged, and you feel a huge sense of relief.
He exhales a breath you didnât realize he was holding, and his hand slips from the back of your head to cup your face, his thumb tracing the line of your jaw. âGood,â he murmurs. âBecause I donât think I can hold back anymore.â
You lean in, pressing another kiss to his lips. âThen donât,â you whisper against his mouth.
The spark that has been ignited between you flares up into a full blown fire, and the next kiss quickly becomes more heated. Without breaking it, Loganâs grip on your waist tightens and you let out a soft gasp as he effortlessly lifts you onto his lap. Your legs straddle his hips, and you can feel the beginning of something growing underneath you.Â
The sensation is dizzying, and you instinctively press yourself closer, your fingers curling into his hair. The swing beneath you creaks softly with the movement, but neither of you pays it any mind, too lost in each other to care.
You shift slightly on his lap, grinding your hips against him, and the movement draws a deep, throaty groan from him. He pulls back just enough to catch his breath, âGod, you drive me crazy,â and then heâs on you again.Â
Itâs wild. Hot, and heavy, and utterly consuming. His hands move from your hips to grip your ass, guiding you to move against him. It feels so good, you release a relieved sigh into his mouth, before dropping your head onto his shoulder, too caught up in the pleasure.Â
The sounds of your moans fill the air as he continues grinding you against him, his own hips bucking up into your core.Â
Biting your lip, you lift your head slightly, a teasing smile tugs at the corners of your mouth as your eyes dart toward the open door of the farmhouse. âYou know,â you begin tilting forward to bite his ear, your voice low and playful, âas much as Iâm enjoying being out here, I think we should take this inside.â
Loganâs lips quirk up into a sexy smirk. âAs you wish,â he murmurs.
As you stand up, your legs a little shaky from what just occured, you peek back at him, and see that heâs already risen to his feet. Stepping closer, you slip your hand into his as you guide him toward the door. But just as you reach the threshold, a thought crosses your mind, and you pause, turning to look up at him with a mischievous glint in your eyes.
âWe gotta go to your room,â you say, running your hands up and down his arms, feeling them flex underneath your touch.âI donât think Iâm ready to defile my childhood bedroom just yet.â
He raises an eyebrow, a grin spreading across his face as he catches on to what youâre implying. âOh, is that so?â he asks, his tone filled with mock seriousness. You wink in return. grabbing one of his hands and dragging him inside.Â
By the time you reach his door, youâre practically vibrating with excitement, your breath coming in quick, shallow bursts. The room is simple, and the bed, neatly made, sits in the center of the room. You canât help but laugh at the thought of how different it will look in just a few moments.
You turn to face Logan, but he doesnât give you time to say anything, his hand reaching out, his fingers brushing against your cheek in a touch that is both tender and possessive. His thumb traces the line of your jaw as he cups your face, his eyes searching yours for any hint of hesitation.
But thereâs none. Youâve never been more sure of anything in your life. The need for him, for this, is so overwhelming that itâs taking every ounce of strength in you to keep from throwing yourself onto him.Â
His lips find yours once more, this time more urgent, more demanding than before. He pulls you closer, his body pressing against yours. âAre you sure about this?â he asks in between kisses.
âAbsolutely,â you mumble breathlessly, your hands sliding up his chest to curl around the back of his neck. The word barely leaves your lips before Logan reacts, a low hum rumbling in his chest as if your answer has unleashed something primal within him.
He kicks the door shut behind him with a force that makes the room tremble slightly, and in the same fluid motion, he pins you against the wall, lips never leaving yours as his body cages you in.
One of his thighs nudges its way between yours, the rough fabric of his jeans brushing against the sensitive spot between your legs. The friction is maddening, electric, and it hits just right, sending a jolt of pleasure up your spine that rips a moan from your throat.
The sound only spurs Logan on, his own need evident in the way he moves against you. He moves his mouth to your neck, trailing up and down it with hungrily. The feel of his mouth on your skin, the way his teeth graze your pulse point, causes you to arch against him, your hands clutching at his shoulders for support.
You can feel the warmth of his breath as he presses his lips to the sensitive spot just below your ear, his tongue flicking out to taste your skin, as his hands explore your body. Theyâre everywhereâone gripping your hip, holding you steady against the wall, the other sliding up your side to brush against the curve of your breast. His fingers find the hem of your shirt, tugging it up, and you lift your arms to help him, the fabric sliding up and over your head before itâs tossed carelessly to the floor.
Bringing his lips back to yours, the kiss is fiery, stealing all the oxygen from your lungs as he pushes you even harder into against the wall, his thigh still working its magic. You canât help the way your hips rock against him, the need for moreâmore pressure, more friction, more him.
Logan seems to sense your desperation, moaning when his hand slips down from your breast to the waistband of your jeans. He fumbles with the button for only a moment before he gets it open, his fingers slipping inside to brush against the soft skin of your lower belly. He pulls back just enough to look into your eyes, his gaze tempting and filled with a desire that matches your own.Â
âYouâre so damn beautiful,â he mutters, voice thick with want. âNo idea why I waited so long.â
You can barely think, let alone form words, but you manage to breathe out, âDonât need to wait any longer.â
The words seem to be all the encouragement he needs. In one swift motion, he slides your pants and underwear down your legs, his hands careful as he helps you step out of them. Youâre left standing before him, bare and vulnerable, but the way heâs staring at youâlike youâre the most beautiful thing heâs ever seenâmakes you feel powerful, desired in a way youâve never felt before.
He pulls you back into him, and this time, you can feel the hardness of his own desire against yoursâbareâ and it drives you insane. His grip finds you thighs as he lifts you off the ground and carries you the short distance to the bed. He lays you down gently on his bed, and breaks away long enough to strip off his own clothes. The sight of himâstrong, muscular, yoursâmakes your breath catch in your throat.Â
Thereâs a moment where heâs standing above you, just staring, his chest rising and falling with the effort to control himself. But then heâs on you again in an instant, his body pressing yours into the mattress, his lips claiming yours and leaving you dizzy.
You lean up into him, your hands sliding up his back, feeling the play of muscles beneath his skin as he moves against you. The need for more builds up to a breaking point, and you canât help the soft moan that escapes your lips as he grinds into you, hard and insistent against your core.
âLogan,â you breathe out. âPlease.â
His name on your lips seems to break the last of his control, a desperate groan ripping out of him. He begins travelling down your body, taking his time, his lips tracing a slow, deliberate path, each kiss leaving a burning trail in its wake. His hands follow the curve of your waist, your hips, his fingers digging into your skin with just the right amount of pressure to make you gasp. Your body is practically begging for him, and you know that youâre on the verge of begging too.
Once he makes it down to your thighs, he nudges them apart, giving him better access to you. He nips and bites at them, moaning along with you. And then, with a deep, almost possessive growl, he finally lowers his mouth to you, his tongue flicking out to taste you. You react immediately, a wave of pleasure coming over you, your hands fly into his hair, tugging at the strands as you try to pull him closer.
Loganâs hands tightening their grip on your thighs as he delves deeper. Youâre lost in the sensations, the pleasure growing and growing until itâs all you can think about, all you can feel. Your body is on fire, every nerve ending alight with desire, and the only thing that matters is the way he is making you feel, the way heâs driving you toward a release that you know will be earth-shattering.
And then, just as you think you canât take any more, he pulls back slightly, his lips still hovering over you as he looks up at you, eyes black. âTell me what you want,â he commands.
You can barely think, let alone form coherent words, but you manage to breathe out, âYou. I wantâI need you.â
That seems to be wanted he wanted to hear, so with a final kiss to your inner thigh, he moves back up your body, connecting his lips to yours again. You can taste yourself on his tongue as his hands slide under your thighs, lifting you slightly to position himself at your entrance.
The anticipation is almost too much, the need for him so immense that you canât hold back the whimper that escapes your lips as begins to push, the tip of him just barely inside you, teasing, testing your patience.
âOh god,â you moan. âI need you. Please.â
And then, finally, Logan gives you what youâve been wanting since that time at the pond. With one slow, deliberate thrust, he pushes inside you, filling you up completely.Â
Everything seems to stop for a moment, the only sound the ragged gasps of breath between you, the only feeling the overwhelming pleasure of being joined together like this, of finally having what youâve both wanted for so long.
He pauses, lowering his head in the crook of your neck as he lets you adjust to the feeling, his breath hot and heavy against your collarbone. And then he begins to move, slow and steady at first, each thrust driving you closer to the edge, the coil inside you tightening with every stroke. The feel of him inside you, the way he moves against you, is everything youâve been dreaming of and more, and you canât help the way your body responds to him, your hips lifting to meet his every movement.
The gentle, deliberate pace soon gives way to something more urgent, more desperate, as the need for release takes over. Each thrust drives you higher, the pleasure building to an almost unbearable level, until teetering on the edge.
And then, he sends you over it. The orgasm hits you like a tidal wave, your entire body shuddering with the intensity of it, your voice lost in the cry of pure ecstasy that escapes your lips. Logan follows you a moment later, his own release crashing into him hard, his body trembling against yours as he buries himself deep inside you, his breath hot and ragged against your neck as a loud, deep, groan reverberates in his throat.Â
Neither of you can move, lost in the aftermath of your shared pleasure, your bodies still entwined, as you come down from the high. He tightens his arms around you, pressing a kiss to your temple as he tries to catch his breath. And when he does, he pulls back just enough to look into your eyes.
âYou okay?â he murmurs.Â
You nod, reaching up to cup his face in your hands, your thumbs gently brushing over the rough stubble on his cheeks. âIâm more than okay,â you whisper back, voice full of emotion. âThat was⊠everything.â
A small smile tugs at the corners of Loganâs lips, and he leans down to press a soft kiss to your forehead, his arms still wrapped securely around you. âYeah, it was,â he agrees.
Eventually, he eases out of you with a tenderness that makes you sigh softly. He walks out into the washroom, and gets a warm towel, wiping you and himself down. After, he settles beside you on the bed, his arm draped over your waist, holding you close. The two of you stay like that for a long time, wrapped in each otherâs arms, until the exhaustion of the day begins to catch up with you, and you feel your eyes growing heavy.
âGet some rest,â you hear, âWeâve got plenty of time⊠no need to rush.â
You nod sleepily, snuggling closer to him as you let your eyes drift shut, the steady pulse of his heart lulling you into a peaceful sleep.Â
â
You wake to the feeling of warmth and security, Loganâs breathing against your ear, his arm still clinging possessively over your waist. The events of the previous night come rushing back, and a satisfied smile curves your lips as you snuggle closer to him.
But it isnât long before that peaceful contentment becomes something more. As you move around, the feel of his skin against yours, the warmth of his breath on your neck, and the memory of the passion ignites a familiar heat low in your belly
He stirs beside you, his hand tightening around your waist as if sensing your thoughts. Pulling you closer, his nose nuzzles against your neck, his lips brushing over the sensitive skin there.Â
His voice is rough with sleep as he murmurs against your skin, âMorningâŠâ
The simple word, spoken in that deep, gravelly tone, is enough to make you ache for him all over again. You turn in his arms, meeting his gaze, and the look in his eyesâdark and hungryâtells you that he feels the same way.Â
The morning starts in the best way possible, the both of you breathless, spent, and with the knowledge that this isnât a one-time thing. The connection between you is too strong, too consuming to be satisfied with just one night or even one morning. And as the day stretches out before you, the realization hits that this hunger, this need, will follow you both everywhere you go.
Throughout the week, the two of you are completely insatiable for each other. Itâs like the floodgates have opened and have no intention of closing. Every moment youâre together becomes an opportunity.Â
It starts innocently enoughâjust a kiss in the barn when youâre supposed to be checking on the horses. But that kiss quickly spirals and before you know it, Logan has you pressed up against the wooden wall, his lips on your neck, his hands roaming your body. The scent of hay and leather mixes with the heady scent of him as he takes you right there, the barn filled with the sound of your moans and the creak of the old wooden beams.
Or when youâre in the back shed, ostensibly looking for some tools to finish up some chores, the moment the door closes behind you, and you both know thereâs no point in pretending. Loganâs hands are on you before you can even say a word, lifting you onto the workbench with ease as he claims your lips in a searing kiss.Â
At the pond too, the tranquil, secluded spot now holds an entirely different kind of allure to what it had before. One afternoon, you find yourselves there again, the cool water calling your name. But as you strip down to swim, the sight of him watching you is enough to make it seem less inviting than the feel of his hands on your skin. You pull him in with you, the rippling water doing nothing to muffle the sounds of your shared pleasure.
By the end of the week, youâre exhausted but in the best possible way, your body and soul both filled with the kind of satisfaction that comes from truly giving in to what you want, to who you are together. And as the sun sets on the final day of your week alone together, you find yourselves back in Loganâs room, the place where it all began.Â
The bed, once neat and tidy, is now a tangle of sheets and pillows, the evidence of your shared moments of bliss scattered around the room. Logan lies beside you, his hand gently stroking your hair as you rest your head on his chest, the steady thrum of his heartbeat beneath your ear.
âThis week⊠itâs been more than I ever expected,â he admits quietly, his fingers brushing gently over your skin. âI donât want it to end.â
You lift your head to look at him, your eyes meeting his, and you can see the same emotion reflected thereâthe same desire to hold on to what youâve found together. âIt doesnât have to,â you reply. âWe donât have to go back to the way things were before.â
Loganâs hand tightens around yours, a small, almost imperceptible smile curving his lips. âNo, we donât,â he concurs.Â
â
The morning your grandparents arrive, you and Logan are in the kitchen, finishing up lunch. Your grandmother is the first to step through the door, her face lighting up as she sees the two of you. âWeâre back!â she announces, her voice cheerful as she sets her bag down by the door.
You rise to greet her, giving her a warm hug. âHow was the trip?â
âOh, it was lovely,â she replies, her eyes twinkling as she pulls back to look at you. âThe cottage was just as beautiful as ever. And the Summers send their love.â
Your grandfather enters next, a gleeful smile on his face as he takes in the sight of you and Logan in the kitchen, together. âEverything go smoothly while we were gone?â he asks.
You blush. âYes, everything was fine.â
Then they do that thing theyâve been doing the whole time youâve been with them, where they exchange a glanceâand share a look that speaks volumes. Itâs the kind of look that only comes from years of understanding each other without words, and you can tell they knew exactly what they were doing when they left you and Logan alone for the week.Â
âWell, thatâs good to hear,â your grandmother says with a mischievous smile, her eyes flicking between you two in a way that makes you wonder just how much theyâve guessed.
âSeems like you two managed just fine without us.â Your grandfather says, patting Logan on the shoulder.Â
You can feel the heat rising to your cheeks, and you steal a look at Logan, who meets your eyes with a small smirk. Itâs a way to tell you that heâs just as aware as you are of what your grandparents are thinking. But thereâs no embarrassment on his face, only a quiet confidence, a certainty that whatever happened between you was exactly what was meant to be.
â
The next month flies by, the routine of everything staying largely the same except for one thing. You and Logan are inseparable, drawn to each other like magnets, and with each passing day, it seems like that attraction only grows stronger.Â
Itâs not just the passion that binds you, though that spark is always there, and most often times doesnât go ignored. Itâs the little moments that fill your daysâthe way his hand brushes yours as you walk side by side, the way he rests a gentle hand on the small of your back when youâre working together in the barn, or the way his fingers grip your waist as he helps you mount your horse (even though you donât need it).Â
The work on the farm continues to get done, but thereâs a new layer to everything you doâa sense of shared purpose, of partnership. And even though the days are long and tiring, you find yourself looking forward to each task, knowing that Logan will be there beside you, sharing the load, offering his quiet support and his easy, comforting presence.
As the sun begins to rise one breakfast, you grandfather announces that he needs to run into town to pick up some tools for a repair project. Heâs heading out the door, and as he grabs his keys from the hook, he turns to Logan with a nod.
âLogan, why donât you come along? Could use an extra pair of hands,â he suggests, his tone casual.
Your man agrees without hesitation, always ready to lend a hand. But as he follows your grandfather out the door, he pauses for just a moment, whirling back to look at you, and what you see on his face is insaneâthereâs a deep yearning, a longing that tugs on your heartstrings. Itâs almost as if to say that he wishes he could stay, he doesnât want to be apart from you, even for the short trip into town.Â
You have half a mind to join them.Â
The intensity of that look lingers in the air long after heâs turned away and stepped out the door, and your grandmother doesnât miss a thing. Once the men are in the truck and begin to drive off the property, she turns to you with a teasing smile, one eyebrow raised in amusment.Â
âHeâs really got it bad for you, doesnât he?â she says affectionately. âIâve never seen a man look at a woman the way he looks at you.â
Your heart blooms in your chest. âI guess he does,â you reply, your voice soft, breathless as the weight of your feelings for him wash over you.Â
Your grandmother chuckles, stepping closer to place her hand on your arm âAnd youâve got it bad for him too, Iâd say.â
You laugh. âYeah, I do.â
â
Several weeks later, itâs raining. That should have been the first sign that this day wasnât going to go to plan. Youâre sitting inside, curled up next to Logan on the old chesterfield, his arm wrapped around you as you both enjoy the warmth and quiet of the afternoon.Â
But then you decide to go through some emailsâjust a quick check, nothing more, to clear out any lingering notifications. You unlock your phone and start scrolling through your inbox, Loganâs fingers tracing lazy circles on your shoulder as you do. Most of the emails are routineânewsletters, updates, the usual clutterâbut then you see it, nestled among the others like a tiny, unexpected bombshell.
Itâs an email from the company you applied to months ago, the one you almost forgot about in the blissful haze of farm life. The subject line makes your heart skip a beat: Congratulations! Offer of Employment.
Your breath catches, and you sit up a little straighter, your heart pounding in your chest as you open the email. The words leap off the screen: We are pleased to offer you the position, starting in two months.
You stare at the email, a mixture of shock and elation washing over you. This is itâyour dream job, the opportunity youâve been working toward for years. Itâs everything youâve ever wanted, the kind of position that could set the course for your entire career. But as the initial wave of excitement begins to ebb, a heavy weight settles in your chest, pulling you back down to earth.
You glance over at Logan, whoâs still relaxed beside you. His eyes are closed, his head resting back against the couch. The sight of him, so content, makes your heart ache, because with this job offer comes a harsh reality: accepting it means leaving him, leaving this life youâve built together, at least for a while. And you donât know whenâor even ifâyouâll be back.
Suddenly, his eyes flutter open in response to your shifting, and he looks over at you, concern flickering across his features. âWhatâs wrong?â he asks.
You take a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart. âI⊠I just got an email,â you begin shakily as you turn the screen toward him so he can read it for himself.
He takes the phone from your hand, his eyes scanning the email. You watch his expression carefully, searching for any sign of what heâs feeling. At first, thereâs no reaction, just the steady, focused way he reads the words. Yet as he reaches the end, you see itâthe subtle tightening of his jaw, the pinching together of his eyebrows.Â
He hands the phone back to you wordlessly.
Then, âThis is what youâve been waiting for.â His voice is steady, but thereâs a sadness there too, a heaviness that you canât ignore.
You nod, feeling tears prick at the corners of your eyes. âYeah⊠it is.â
Thereâs a long stretch of nothing, the sound of the rain outside filling the silence between you. Logan looks away, his gaze fixed on the fire as if trying to find the right words. When he finally speaks, his voice is low, measured. âYou have to take it.â
You swallow hard. âBut what about us? I donât know when Iâll be back⊠or if Iâll even be able to come back.â
Loganâs hand tightens around yours, his grip firm, grounding. âWeâll figure it out,â he says, though you can hear the strain in his voice, the way heâs trying to hold back his own emotions for your sake. âYouâve worked too hard for this to pass it up.â
His words are supportive, encouraging, but you can see the the way heâs starting to close in on himself, as if already bracing himself for your departure. The thought of being apart from him is unbearable.
You lean into his touch, your head resting on his shoulder, and he wraps his arms around you, holding you close. âI donât want to leave you,â you whisper as the tears finally spill over.
He presses a kiss to the top of your head, his lips lingering there as if trying to convey all the things he canât bring himself to say. âI donât want you to leave either,â he admits. âBut Iâll be here when you get back. However long it takes.â
And so begins the countdown to your departure. You always knew it was going to come, always knew you were going to have to leave your grandparents again, but you didnât expect to find the love of your life here, and that makes it so much harder.
â
The remaining two months become a bittersweet blend of cherished moments and a looming sense of inevitability. Each day feels both precious and fleeting, a constant reminder that your time together is running out, and it shapes every decision, every action, every word between you.Â
In the past, your days had been filled with the rhythm of farm lifeâearly mornings, long hours of work, and evenings spent in each otherâs arms, exhausted but content. But now, thereâs a conscious effort to carve out time just for you two, time thatâs not dictated by chores or routine. You start taking more trips to the pond or into town, something you hadnât quite as often before.Â
These dates are different from the intense, passionate moments youâve shared on the farmâtheyâre softer, more tender, as if youâre both trying to imprint each otherâs presence into your memories. You hold hands as you walk on the streets, your fingers intertwined, and every now and then, Logan will pull you close, pressing a kiss to your temple or your lips, as if he needs to reassure himself that youâre still there with him.
Even the way you make love changes during these months. The hunger and desire that had once defined your physical relationship are still there, of courseâLoganâs touch still ignites a fire in you, and the need for each other still burns as hot as everâbut now, thereâs a new dimension to your intimacy, a slow, sensual depth that hadnât been there before.Â
Your grandparents, upon hearing the news, immediately noticed the change too. While they were so extremely happy for your new job opportunity, they also knew what it meant. Theyâve seen the way you and Logan have grown closer, the way your connection has deepened, and thereâs a quiet sadness in their eyes whenever they see you together.Â
Itâs not a sadness for themselves, but for the both of you.Â
They donât say much, but their understanding is palpable. They seem to give you more grace when it comes to doing work around the farm, trying to volunteer and do as much as they can so you two can spend time alone. No matter how much you refuse, they insist, pushing you two out the door with picnic basket and blankets.Â
Sitting on the porch one evening after a long day, your grandmother comes out to join you. She sits beside you, Loganâs arm is draped around your shoulders, and for a brief second, the three of you just sit in silence, watching the sunset.
âYou know,â your grandmother begins, her voice soft and filled with emotion, âI see the way you two look at each other. It reminds me of your grandfather and me when we were young.â
You smile, leaning into Loganâs side as you listen to her. âYou two have always been such an inspiration,â you say, meaning every word.
She chuckles, a wistful sound. âIt wasnât always easy, you know. There were times when we had to be apart, times when I wasnât sure if weâd make it through. But we did. And looking at you two now⊠I know youâll find a way.â
Logan squeezes your shoulder gently.. âWeâll figure it out,â he says, echoing the promise he made when you first told him about the job.
Your grandmother nods, reaching out to pat your knee. âI believe you will. But just know⊠itâs okay to be sad, to be scared. Thatâs part of loving someone.â
The words resonate with you, and you feel tears prick at the corners of your eyes. âThank you,â you whisper, your voice thick with emotion.
She smiles, a small, sad smile that holds a lifetime of wisdom. âYouâll be alright, my dear. Both of you.â
The days continue to slip by, and as the final weeks approach, your chest constantly feels tight. You try to make yourself feel better by lying in each otherâs arms at night, whispering about the future, about the dreams you have, and the plans youâll make when youâre together again. But still, itâs sad.Â
â
Your last day creeps up on you like a shadow at duskâinevitable, inescapable, and suddenly there, looming over everything. You wake up with a rock on your heart, the realization that this is itâyour final day on the farm, your last full day with Logan before everything changes.
He is still asleep beside you, holding you close, his face peaceful in the early morning quiet. For a moment, you just watch him, memorizing the lines of his face, the way his chest rises and falls with each breath, the way his hair falls across his forehead. You want to remember everything, to carry this image of him with you when you leave.
With a soft sigh, you carefully slip out of his embrace, trying not to wake him. You pad quietly to the window, staring out at the familiar landscape that has become so dear to you. The fields, the barn, the trees swaying gently in the breezeâitâs all so beautiful, so full of memories.
You donât realize youâre crying until you feel the wetness on your cheeks, and you quickly wipe the tears away, not wanting to start the day with sadness. But as you turn back to the bed, you see that Logan is awake, his eyes open and watching you. He doesnât say anything, but the look in his eyes says it allâhe knows what today means, and he feels it just as deeply as you do.
Wordlessly, you crawl back into bed, curling up against him, and you can feel the steady beat of his heart beneath your cheek, grounding you in the moment.
âMorning,â he murmurs.
âMorning,â you whisper back, your voice trembling slightly as you press your face into his chest, trying to hold back the tears that threaten to fall..
You just lie there together, wrapped in each otherâs arms, the weight of the day pressing down on you both. Eventually, Logan pulls back slightly, his hand cupping your face as he looks into your eyes. âLetâs go to the pond,â he says delicately. âJust you and me.â
You nod, unable to find the words to respond. The pond has always been your special place, a sanctuary where youâve shared so many intimate moments, where it feels like it all began, and so itâs only right that would spend your last day there, away from everything else, just the two of you.
You decide to walk to the pond. Loganâs hand is warm and solid in yours, and you hold on to it tightly, physically unable to tear yourself from his touch. And when you reach it, a fresh wave of emotion crashes over you.Â
You and Logan stand at the waterâs edge, just staring out into the pond. Then, you turn to him, your eyes filled with tears, and without hesitation, he pulls you into his arms, holding you close.
The kiss that follows is desperate, full of the need to feel connected, to hold on to each other for as long as you can. Itâs not like the slow, sensual lovemaking of the past weeksâthis is something desperate. Stumbling back toward the soft grass by the waterâs edge, Logan gently lays you down, his hands trembling slightly as he undresses you, tears stinging behind his eyelids. As he moves over you, his body pressing against yours, thereâs only this moment.Â
With his skin against yours, his breath on your neck, your bodies move together. Tears spill from your eyes as you hold him tight, your hands unable to stay still, running over every part of him you can touch, needing to feel him, to anchor yourself. His lips find yours again, and the kiss is deep, full of all the love, all the emotion that neither of you can put into words.Â
Itâs a kiss that says goodbye, that says I love you, that says Iâll wait for you.
After reaching the peak of pleasure, you cling to each other, the tears flowing freely now, a mix of sorrow and love and everything in between.
Logan holds you close, his forehead pressed against yours, his breath ragged, his eyes wet with tears. âI love you,â he whispers, his voice cracking with emotion. âIâll always love you.â
âI love you too,â you choke out. âMore than anything.â
â
Driving away from the farm was probably the hardest thing you've ever had to do in your entire life. Harder than moving away for university, harder than securing your first full-time job, harder than living alone in a city where you knew no one. This was differentâthis was leaving behind a piece of your heart, a part of your soul that you knew would never be whole until you returned.
Your hands grip the steering wheel tightly, your knuckles white as you try to focus on the road ahead, but itâs impossible to shake the image thatâs burned into your mindâthe image of Logan and your grandparents standing on the porch as you drove away. The sight of them, standing there side by side, watching you leave, is something that will haunt you for a long time.Â
Logan, his stoic expression barely masking the pain in his eyes, his hands clenched at his sides as if holding himself back from running after you. Your grandmother, her face a mixture of sadness and pride, eyes glistening with unshed tears. And your grandfather, standing tall and strong, but with a heaviness in his gaze that spoke of understanding, of experience, of knowing just how hard this had to be.
The tears that had been threatening to fall finally break free, streaming down your face as you drive, blurring your vision and making it hard to see the road ahead. You swipe at them angrily, frustrated with yourself for breaking down like this, but itâs no use. The emotions are too strong, too overwhelming, and soon youâre bawling your eyes out, the sound of your own crying filling the car.Â
You can barely catch your breath, each sob wracking your body with a force that leaves you feeling drained, exhausted, and utterly broken.
â
The time apart is worse than you ever imagined it would be. In the beginning, you and Logan make every effort to stay in touch. The calls and texts are your lifeline, little threads that keep you connected to the farm, to him, to the life you left behind.Â
At first, you talk every day. his voice a comfort, a reminder that youâre not alone, that heâs still there, waiting for you. He tells you about his days, about how he still rides the horses every morning, just like he used to when you were there.Â
But as time goes on, the time between each call grows. Your demanding work schedule, and the unreliable service in the countryside, make it harder and harder to find moments when youâre both free to talk. The texts, once long and filled with details about your lives, become shorter, more practical. You try to stay connected, but the distance feels like a growing chasm between you, one that neither of you can quite figure out how to bridge.
Years pass by in a blur. You have no time to spend at the farm, with it being too far away for just a weekend trip, and other commitments seem to always get in the way.Â
Then, one day, the call comesâthe call youâve dreaded but somehow always knew would happen. Itâs your grandmother, her voice trembling as she tells you that your grandfather has passed away.Â
You take leave from work immediately, making arrangements to drive back to the farm and spend a night. The funeral is simple, attended by a few close friends and neighbours, but the absence of your grandfather is felt deeply by everyone.
And heâs there tooâLogan. Heâs standing off to the side, his broad shoulders slightly hunched, his face etched with grief. When your eyes meet, itâs as if no time has passed at all. You walk over to him, and without a word, he pulls you into his arms, holding you tightly as if afraid to let go.Â
The few years apart, the pain of the distance, all of it melts away in that embrace. You bury your face in his chest, breathing in the familiar scent of him that youâve missed so much, and the tears you thought you had run out of begin to fall.Â
âIâm so sorry,â you whisper, everything hitting you at onceâthe loss of your grandfather, the years youâve spent apart, the life you could have had together.
He hugs you tighter, his hand gently stroking your hair. âI miss you,â he murmurs thickly. âEvery damn day, I miss you.â
You spend the rest of the day together, holding each other, talking, catching up, and remembering your grandfather. Logan tells you about the farm, about how heâs kept things going, but you can hear the weariness in his voice, the toll that time and loneliness have taken on him. Itâs clear that the farm hasnât been the same without you, just as your life hasnât been the same without him.
Later that evening, after the guests have left and the house has grown quiet, your grandmother pulls you aside. Her eyes are tired, full of sorrow, but thereâs a calm acceptance in her expression. âIâve made a decision,â she says softly, her voice steady. âIâm going to sell the farm.â
The words hit you like a punch to the gut, but before you can protest, she continues. âNot to just anyone,â she adds quickly. âTo Logan. Heâs been more than just a farmhand, you know that. This place is as much his as it was ours. But⊠I need to move into permanent care. I canât manage on my own anymore.â
You nod, understanding but feeling a deep sadness all the same. The farm has been a part of your life for so long, and the thought of it changing hands, even to Logan, feels like another loss. But thereâs also a sense of relief, knowing that it will be in good hands, that it will stay in the family, in a way.
That night, youâre tangled in Loganâs arms. Leaving him the next morning is just as hard the second time as it was the first.
â
Five years since that fateful summer have passed, and in that time, your life changes in ways you never expected. Youâve built a successful career, made some amazing friends, travelled the world, but the hustle and bustle of city life has taken its toll. The stress, the strain, the dissatisfactionâit begins to weigh on you more and more.Â
So, you make a decision.
You quit your job, find something remote, something that allows you to work from anywhere, as long as you can drive into the city every few weeks to drop off documents. Itâs a drastic change, but itâs one you need. You realize that the life you want, the life youâve been yearning for, isnât in the city.Â
Itâs back at the farm.
As you step out of your car, you see him. Heâs by the paddock, feeding the horses apples, just like he used to. His back is to you at first, but then he turns, and his eyes meet yours, and time stops.Â
Thereâs a lifetime of emotions in that lookâlove, longing, hope. Most of all, thereâs recognition, as if both of you know that this is it, that this is the moment youâve been waiting for all these years.
And when youâre finally standing in front of him again, he reaches out, his hand trembling slightly as he cups your face, his thumb brushing over your cheek the same way it did all those years ago.Â

office visitations pairing: wife!reader x ceo!rafe synopsis: wife!reader goes to visit rafe at work for lunch warnings: smut, breeding kink, praise, soft rafe, talk of pregnancy, fluffy ending MDNI - wc: 2k IT'S MY BIRTHDAY which means this is the last day of my birthday celebration! i had so much fun writing these fics and i hope you enjoyed them as well!
everyone on kildare island wondered how rafe cameron of all men had managed to land you; sure, he was rich and good looking, but in figure 8, that was nothing. but somehow he had, and only after six months of being your boyfriend, he had asked you to marry him; no one knew that he had been looking at rings after your very first date.
you were basically his opposite; the sweet, girl-next-door pogue who no one ever had anything bad to say about, while he was known to lash out at whoever was in the wrong place in the wrong time, but after meeting you, he was obsessed.
rafe was sitting in his office, just having finished up a board meeting, those always stressing him out, paperwork piling on his desk, his cup of coffee having gone cold already.
there was a soft knock on rafe's door, and he rubbed his forehead, letting out a small scoff; he had told his secretary to not let absolutely anyone to come bother him. he looked up at the door, letting out a cold and detached, "come in." knowing that his secretary would be looking for a new job.
but as soon as he saw the familiar pair of eyes playfully peek into his office, it was like all the tension slowly rolled off his shoulders. "hi." you said with a smile that was so bright and sunny rafe was sure it could've melted down an icecap. "can i come in?"
rafe cleared his throat, standing up from his chair, "yeah, of course." the man smiled, running a hand through his mussed-up blonde hair as you stepped into his office. you were wearing a long, flowy sundress, carrying two cups of coffee and a bag of something, "what's this?" your husband asked amusedly, his head nodding toward the bag.
"i brought you some coffee and croissants." you said, placing the things on his desk and turning to him, "i knew you're always stressed after board meetings. i would be too, if i had to sit around with a bunch of old guys for an hour straight listening to their issues with you or whatever you do." you chuckled, straightening the collar of his button-up.
"you know just what i need." he groaned, wrapping his arms around your waist, pulling you flush against his chest, tilting his head down so he could nuzzle it into your neck, breathing in the floral scent of your perfume while you let out a small chuckle, your eyes closing as you held him, stroking his back.
he pulled back, looking down at your dress with a small grin, "did you wear this for me?" he asked, feeling the fabric inbetween his fingers, "it looks great."
"thank you. my husband got it for me." you said playfully, giving him your left hand. rafe took hold of it, pressing a kiss to the back of your hand before looking at your engagement ring.
"he has great taste. in women, in clothing, and in jewelry."
you laugh softly, shaking your head and rolling your eyes, until rafe took your chin inbetween his pointer finger and his thumb, forcing you to look up at him, the man admiring the way your eyes twinkled, moving his hands to rest on your waist again. "you look so gorgeous."
"and you look very handsome." you said, tugging him down into a kiss, your lips on his immediately causing rafe's head to buzz. rafe's hands slowly slid down to your ass, grabbing at the flesh through your summer dress, pulling you closer while one of your hands was on his chest, and one of your hands was on the back of his neck, short blond hair meeting your soft palms.
you pulled away from the kiss breathlessly, keeping your forehead and nose pressed to his, your breaths mingling together while your eyes were closed.
"i missed you..."
"you saw me this morning." rafe mumbled, one of his hands traveling to your cheek, cupping it in his hand while his thumb stroked your soft cheek.
"does that mean i can't miss you?" your brows raised with a chuckle, the hand that had been resting on his chest was now tugging his button-up out of the trousers they were tucked in, rafe letting out a small groan when he felt your warm hand slowly trail up the line of his abs, "you know, i realized somethingâŠ" you practically purred into his ear.
"yeah? what'd you realize, sweetie?" he asked, nuzzling his head in the crook of your neck, pressing small kisses on your warm skin, causing shivers to run down your spine, goosebumps starting to form all over your body.
"i'm ovulating." you whispered with a grin, before pulling back to see his reaction. rafe lifted his head, looking at you with half-lidded eyes and a small grin, his hands sliding down to rest on the curve of your ass.
"mmhm, 's that the case?" he asked, he shamelessly looking down at your tits, rafe's adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed, your fingers starting to unbutton the buttons of his shirt, revealing more and more of his tanned chest, shivers running down his spine when he felt your manicured nails on the skin that you were slowly baring. "i guess we should take advantage of that, then."
you let out a small squeal when your husband lifted you into his arms without any difficulty, carrying you to the other side of his desk. rafe sat down on his chair, positioning you so that you were straddling him, his calming cerulean eyes gazing up into yours.
your hand moves to the nape of his neck, fingers gently playing with the short tendrils of hair there as you gaze down at him, the hint of a smile playing at your lips. rafe brought his hand closer to your face, his fingers curling under your chin, bringing your face to meet his, the sides of your noses pressed against one another, breaths mingling together before his lips brushed against yours.
and soon, rafe's shirt hung unbuttoned on his broad shoulders, your panties discarded on his desk, your body still mostly covered by your dress, his slacks and boxers at his ankles. the thumb of his left hand brushed against your hardened nipple over the fabric of your dress, a small gasp escaping your lips as your soaked entrance hovered over the tip of his cock, practically aching to sink itself down on him.
"you ready?" rafe whispered under you, pressing a featherlight kiss on your clothed nipple, and somehow even that was enough to make you dizzy; you couldn't speak, simply nodding, his hands slowly crawling up from the sides of your thighs up your dress until they were on your hips, rafe's touch so hot you thought he might leave burn marks. slowly, he started bringing your hips lower, a long drawn-out whimper leaving your lips when you finally felt rafe stretch you out; you'd been together for a long time but every time his cock entered you it felt like the first time.
even though you were the one straddling him, rafe was the one doing all the work. slowly, he lifted you up, before bringing you back down, your head thrown back, lost in all the bliss you were feeling, his lips attaching themselves to your neck, pressing soft kisses on your pulse point as you let out small, soft laughs when you felt his stubble on your skin.
although his lips moved away from your neck, rafe continued moving you on top of him by your hips, briefly bringing one of his hands to cup your cheek, making you look down at him, your eyes hazy and glossed over from the pleasure he was giving you.
"you look so gorgeous like this..." rafe whispered, letting out a grunt as he felt you deliberately clench yourself around him, the corners of your mouth quirking up into an adorable, almost shy smile, your cheeks feeling warmer due to his sweet words.
he moved his hand back to your hips, continuing to guide you up and down on his cock, slightly picking up his pace, whimpers leaving your lips whenever he bottomed out in you, hitting that one spot like it was nothing, when for you, it felt like everything.
"so damn gorgeous..." he mumbled against your skin, and as one of rafe's hands traveled down to your pussy, his thumb starting to draw languid circles on your clit, you started moving your hips just slightly faster, every part of you screaming that you needed more of him, needed to feel every part of him.
"please..." you whined, the tone of your voice making something in rafe's chest ache while also making the heat in his abdomen nearly double.
as his thumb picked up its pace, your head felt so beautifully blank; all you could focus on were the sensations running through your body, the fire he'd lit inside of you, and the orgasm you were already starting to feel approaching.
"please, i'm so close..." you whined, your words getting muddled with your moans.
your eyes were closed, unable to see the way your husband was admiring you, looking up at you with pupils blown so wide his blue eyes might as well have turned into the shape of a heart, and he continued bucking his hips up into you, both of you chasing your orgasms, the sound of squelching and moaning filling his office.
suddenly, he felt your walls spasming around his cock, your orgasm washing over you as you held on tight to his shoulders, your body shuddering with pleasure, moans leaving your lips without you even realizing it was happening.
rafe watched as you came undone, continuing to move inside of you even though your walls felt snug around him, the man starting to feel a familiar tightening in his abdomen.
"'m so close..." rafe mumbled, not even sure if you could hear him through the bubble of bliss you seemed to be encased in. "gonna come in you... gonna put a baby in you... you're gonna look so gorgeous with my baby in you..."
when you let out a soft whimper, trying to move yourself on his cock even though you were still riding out his orgasm, rafe groaned, burying his head in the crook of your neck, loud whines leaving your lips when he fucked into you at a faster pace, rafe almost losing himself in you and the way you felt around him, knowing he'd never get enough of you, never get enough of having you like this.
it didn't take long until he let out a loud groan, and you felt ropes of his cum filling you, moving your hips slightly to make sure he was as deep inside of you as possible, the closeness feeling almost intoxicating.
neither one of you spoke for a while, and the only noise that could be heard in his office were the pants that slowly turned into regular breathing, and finally when it had settled, you pressed your forehead against rafe's, taking a deep breath.
you felt rafe's hand on your cheek, his thumb stroking the soft skin there, and it was like he was reading your thoughts; sometimes the way he knew you intimidated you, just because the thought of ever losing that scared the hell out of you.
"it's gonna happen." he said comfortingly, opening his eyes to look into yours, and you pulled your forehead away from his to do the same. you brought your hand to your abdomen, looking down at it while letting out a small sniffle, your tone laced with insecurity, "you think so?"
rafe pressed his hand over yours, and you wondered how someone could know exactly everything you thought and needed, his large, ringed hand somehow managing to soothe every single thought running through your mind.
"i know so, and i'm never wrong, am i?" he grinned smugly, making you roll your eyes, a soft laugh escaping your lips.

incubus!sukuna, part two. part one here
you wake up sweaty, the sheets clinging to your skin. thereâs an unfamiliar pressure on your hips, and you almost feel stuck. when you open your eyes, there are four staring back at you in the dark.
instinctively, you open your mouth to scream, but sukuna is faster than you. one of his large hands is covering your face before you can even blink, muffling your scream completely.
he leans into you, close enough that you can smell faint wisps of smoke coming from him.
âyou remember me.â itâs a statement, not a question. âlet me have you like this.â outside of your head, he thinks.
he watches as you glance at the clock across the room. 3:56. you close your hand into a fist, pressing your nails into your palm before raising it to your face and counting all five fingers. you look back at the clock. still 3:56.
youâre awake.
the pressure on your hipsâhis hands holding you downâgoes away as he shifts positions, lifting you into his lap. suddenly, you feel overly exposed in the tank top and underwear you wore to bed. his double erection presses into your side, twin promises of whatâs to come.
just like in your dreams, he makes the first move with little hesitation, pulling your underwear off you in one swift movement. you follow his lead, tugging your tank over your head and tossing it to the floor.
youâre already wet enough for him to slip three of his thick fingers inside you without prepping you first. he chuckles to himself as he watches the way your pussy greedily sucks his fingers in. you squirm a bit, trying to subtly push yourself down on his hand, hoping for more.
he pauses. âwhat? this not enough for you?â
the stern tone of his voice makes your legs tense, bringing them together. sukuna tuts, âdonât run away now, you just said you wanted more.â he pushes your legs back open, wider than they were before.
you purse your lips. âtechnically, i didnât say that.â
he stares down at you, unfamiliar with this kind of back-talk from a human. he expects attitude from succubi, always too impish and bratty, but human women? theyâve always been willing and pliant.
you tuck your lips between your teeth and stare back, eyes twinkling.
you arenât expecting the large smile that breaks across his face, making you feel like a rabbit staring into the maw of a lion.
youâre suddenly on your back, head resting against your pillow. sukuna hovers over you and pulls his fingers out of your cunt, and he looks you in the eyes as he licks them clean. you donât break eye contact, which only seems to rile him up further.
âyouâre a bold one,â he mumbles, pushing your legs up until your knees are nearly to your ears.
you groan at the position, momentarily wishing youâd been stretching more regularly. but you donât have any time to dwell on it before sukuna presses the fat tip of one of his dicks against your slit.
your breath hitches as he sinks himself all the way in, pushing your legs further back to get deeper.
âoh my god.â
somehow, he feels bigger in real life. your jaw drops at the rude entry, and you watch sukunaâs lips stretch into a sly smile.
he pulls out completely, only to thrust back into you, his tip kissing your cervix. he continues at a steady speed, driving you closer and closer to an orgasm with every movement.
when you come, you swear you see stars. your toes and fingers and ears are tingling, skin prickling all over. your cunt spasms around sukunaâs monstrous cock, clenching and releasing like sheâs trying to milk him. youâre so focused on trying to ride it out that you hardly register when sukuna lines up his second dick with your entrance.
you scream when you feel itâsukunaâs twin cocks stretching you open more than you even knew was possible.
he gives you a moment to take it in, whispering for you to breathe as he waits for you to relax around him. one of his hands envelops yours, pinning it to the bedsheets.
the moment you adjust, he goes back to his previous pace, only marginally slower.
the feeling is overwhelming, being so totally stuffed. it only gets worse when he starts thumbing your clit. immediately, your mind goes blank, short-circuiting in response to the devastating amount of pleasure.
you're subjected to more orgasms in quick succession, each one sending shockwaves throughout your body. sukuna keeps going, looking increasingly satisfied every time you come.
the tears that pricked the corners of your eyes start to fall down your temples. a string of âplease, please, please, pleaseâ spills from your lips, but youâre not quite sure what youâre asking for, too fucked out to be coherent.
youâre vaguely aware of the praises he starts showering you with. something about how youâre his favorite, and how your pussy sucks him in the best, how heâll never fuck another, blah blah blah. his hips buck at a sloppier pace than before.
you feel his cocks pulse inside you, and for the first time since heâs started visiting you, he comes.
youâre not expecting to feel so empty when he finally pulls out of you. he uses his fingers to stuff his cum as far up as itâll go, but it leaks out anyways, trickling towards your ass. he lets go of you, letting you lay down your legs and stretch them out on the bed.
in your cum-drunk haze, you latch onto sukuna's hand, tucking it beneath your head and mumbling thank youâs into his skin as you curl up under the sheets. as you begin to drift into unconsciousness, you feel him wrapping you up in his arms, cradling you. a single thought cuts through the fog in your brain: this is new.
you think you hear him tell you youâre welcome just before falling asleep.

________________________________________________
âYouâre evil, you know that right ?â You say, raising an eyebrow. Â
âI donât know what youâre talking about, my love.â He answers, a small smile on his lips. You turn to him and...Oh that smug look, that smug look you loved so much. He definitely DEFINITELY knew what he was doing.Â
And that it was utterly...evil.Â
âItâs going to be FUN !âÂ
Ah, and hereâs his little devil. Damian himself. He loved this. Partly because he thought it was funny to mess with everyone, partly because he liked showing that you guys were a family.Â
âThey wonât believe their eyes !â His little voice kept going, followed by a big roar of laughter that sounded, by all means, more childlike than devilish.Â
âThat they wonât, they always seem so surprised when Bruce acts like a human.âÂ
Jason. Still not calling Bruce âdadâ (except sometimes, by âaccidentâ, and even him donât realize he did), heâd only slowly been back at the manor, with all of you. And, for sure, a certain important event which happened about four months ago made it so he came back to live at home.
Dick chuckled and added :Â âWho would blame them ? Weâre talking about a man who eats his burgers with a knife and fork !â He gestured to his father with his left thumb, his other hand shielding part of his mouth as if he was telling them all a secret, as if he was trying to be discreet, so his dad wouldnât hear...Always quite the little clown, that eldest son of yours. With his exaggerated mannerism, and that sparkle in his eyes, in his smile.Â
âIâm certain some of them thought he was genuinely a cyborg for YEARSâ Tim added, quite seriously, his tone the opposite of his older brother (and that was just his way of joking...you think). And honestly ? Yeah, you were pretty sure some of your friends at the JLA thought your husband was a robot, at one point.Â
Oh yes. Thatâs where you were going, to the JLAâs headquarters. To execute Bruceâs plan. Quite the evil plan indeed.Â
âHell, even I thought he was one before I met you guys !â Duke chimed in, and that made Cassandra smile widely, as she shook her head up and down pointing at Duke as if to say :Â âwhat he just saidâ.Â
And in a very Bruce manner, your husband kept a straight face, ignoring his childrenâs teasing. Only you, saw that twinkle in his eyes, that smile that might not reach his mouth, but was definitely dancing in those bright blue eyes.Â
Oh yes. Yes, your friends were in for quite the surprise.Â
************
Meanwhile, in the Justice League headquarters :Â
âOh, hey ! Look, Batmanâs zeta tube is turning on ! We havenât seen him in a while right ?â Â
Indeed they havenât. Because, well, letâs put it this way : Batmanâs wife just had a baby.Â
A baby girl (finally, right ? You and Cass werenât TOO outnumbered anymore).Â
And Batman had been VERY busy doting over his baby girl.Â
Batman had been busy being Bruce Wayne.Â
Just a man, who thought heâd never be happy again, not knowing how to handle all those feelings he had for his wife (for you), for his children.Â
That was happiness then, right ?Â
So, yes. Batman hasnât been much at the JLAâs headquarters lately. But your husband thought, it was finally time to go see his friends a little bit. He knew they were all up there, because it was their monthly reunion (once each month, they gathered to talk about the state of the world, the universe, what threat lingered, what lurked beyond...and to get very drunk, and see their friends, the only ones who knew what it meant to be a âheroâ).Â
And that whatâs made him particularly evil.Â
He knew, they would all be there. He knew what their reaction was going to be. After all, his memory was amazing, he definitely hadnât forgot the way they reacted the first time they saw you, the first time they learned he had children (childrEN, plural !).Â
And he knew they were a little worried about him.Â
He had missed their last three reunions, and only answered : âEverything is okâ to their messages asking if he was alright (they hadnât dared to go see if he was indeed ok, because last time they did that, they found him bed ridden with all the bones in his body broken, and he got so mad at them for butting in his business he worked twice as hard when he was fine again, and didnât talk a WORD for months...that was, of course, years ago, before you were in his life, but the experience was still in their minds and so, they decided to respect his privacy, he would come to them when ready). And he never pushed his âred buttonâ, him, or anyone in the family.Â
They just assumed he was busy, they hoped it wasnât anything bad.Â
Yes. They were worried. For him. For you. For your kids. For Alfred. For your dogs, your cats, your cow...They. Were. Worried.Â
And Bruce knew.Â
You told him, when your pregnancy was confirmed, to tell his friends. That they would be happy. But after his own initial happy thought, his surge of hope and love at knowing he was going to be a dad again, he started to make his plan.Â
Why tell them, when you could toy with them ?Â
âThey deserve it.â He told you, and you werenât sure if they did, but you werenât about to fight him on that. After all, you too, thought it could be amusing. Amusing to hide your pregnancy, making up excuses as to why they couldn't come see you, and you didnât come up the headquarter. Amusing, to even hide it quite expertly from any form of news (Bruce was a MASTER of disguise, not only for himself), so it would be a real surprise.Â
Amusing, to have your little girl in secret, with only your family. Amusing, but also what you wanted. For this good news to be just between you, your children, and Alfred. Your close family. Because you had too few things that just were yours.Â
This had to be yours. Your thing, your secret, your own happiness. Yours, and only yours. And you found it was good, that you guys spend the first few months of your daughterâs life only between yourselves.Â
It was nice, to go out âdisguisedâ as a normal couple, and show your daughter Gotham (and how her little eyes already tried to take the entire world within them).Â
It was nice, to live in total privacy for a little bit.Â
So, yes, you had been a little selfish. And he had, too. You knew it wasnât just to prank his friends, he kept it all a secret. That it was also to have some quality time with his family. To spend the first few months of his daughterâs life being the only one being utterly smitten with her.Â
Though, this last thing wasn't true...You were, too. And your children ? Letâs just say your daughter had not been alone ONCE since she was born. And she seemed to love it.Â
Whenever she made the slightest sound, smiled, laughed (or cried), they were there, Bruce was there, absolutely loving that little baby.Â
She was almost 4 months old now, and Bruce thought that the gist had to be up. What scale did he use to measure this amount of âreadinessâ ? You had no idea. You thought he was just now ready to share his happiness with his friends, and not just his close family.Â
And so here you were, after months of secrecy carefully crafted and orchestrated by your husband, in the JLAâs headquarters, along with your family, the little new addition to said family in your husbandâs arms.Â
Evil. Your husband was downright evil.Â
He knew that what was about to happen would have a massive impact on his friends. He. KNEW.Â
And as the zeta tube brought all your family up there, you knew that as he saw their faces, your husband was a little TOO happy with himself for his little âprankâ.Â
************
âBatman, are you al- IS THAT A BABY ?â Very typical, very in character : the first to react was Flash himself.Â
None of the other noticed, and they seemed inclined to think Barry had lost his mind but then...
Bruceâs face didnât move an inch, he just held that little âpackageâ, and had his same stoic expression except...Except there was a little hand grabbing at his chin.Â
Then another hand appeared out of that bundle Batman carried, with a bat plushie bunched in a tight fist, shaking it and...Cooing.Â
Cute little sounds, and the way- EXCUUUuuUuuuUSE ME ?
The way Batman just softly looked at her, the way his cold expression was replaced by a tender one as he lowered his eyes to her ??
WHAT ?!Â
They knew. They knew he had THE softest spot for his family. They knew his scary aura greatly dimmed when he was around his wife and children. They knew that when they werenât there, he was only made of shadows. They were his light, his salvation.Â
They knew he didnât have the same face expression, when they were around.
Well, when they were looking at him...Barry swore that Batman loomed around his family, standing menacingly behind them, his eyes cold and calculating as if he was ready to fight any seconds to save his loved ones, and then whenever they turned to him his feature would instantly soften. He will ALWAYS remember the first time he met little Dickie, 9 years old and so full of joy and life, and how whenever he would look at Batman and talk to him, said Batman got a softer expression somewhat, but then when Dick turned around, Batman looked about to murder them whenever they came too close from him.Â
Once, Tim, also 9 at the time, years after the JLA met Dick, told Barry matter of factly :Â âHe doesnât kill people. He could break your knee caps thoughâ in a very Tim fashion. The kid was serious. And had noticed the aura surrounding his dad, how it changed when he was around (he noticed more than his siblings, because for a while, Bruce had been really cold and distant with him, since he met him not long after Jasonâs death..understandable. So he was the only one who had this sort of behavior aimed at him, the shield Bruce put in front of him to keep everyone away so he wouldnât be hurt, the shield that now was lowered for them and only them).Â
It was his eyes. His eyes that were always hard and cold, became different when looking at you or his children.Â
Not to say that his family never exasperated him, or that he never had his âmaskâ around them. After all, Bruceâs stoic expression was his face by default. Itâs just that he was often too focused. And that he spend years practicing hiding his emotions, practicing keeping a blank face. Because Barry also remembered seeing Dick perched on his fatherâs shoulders, letting himself dangle in his back, his head upside down, whistling and kicking his feet, and Bruce having this stoic mask on, concentrated.Â
Anyway, they knew all that. It had been years, since Bruce finally trusted them enough to bring his wife here, and his kids. But yet, yet they were still surprised sometimes.
Like today.Â
The picture of Batman holding a baby was...a little weird.Â
Even if he opened up to them over the years, he was still mostly very cold, distant and aloof. You know, Batman. Thatâs just who he was. So sometimes, to see him so devoted to his wife or kids, it was odd to say the least.Â
And right now, as he walked towards them with a baby in his arms, the shock was real. Damn it, will there be a day when the Bat didnât surprise them with something ?Â
How did none of them notice you were pregnant ? Proof again Batman was a master of his craft. And that little girl...
Oh your daughter was such a beaming ray of sunshine, that in his arms it was particularly a jarring image.Â
The big scary bat, tall, broad shouldered, muscular in every way, his face void of expressions, holding a tiny baby who kept smiling at everyone around, and playing with her plushy.Â
Odd.Â
Yet, sweet.Â
Were they surprised ? Yes.Â
Were they a little mad he hid something (AGAIN) this important from them ? Definitely.Â
Were they shocked that his daughter was so darn cute and smiling and laughing that much ? Not really, because you were his mom too.Â
Were they happy for him ? For sure.Â
Were they going to adore that little girl ? Probably as much as they adored his other kids already, which meant...yes. Yes they were going to.Â
Damn that bastard Bruce. Always so sneaky.Â
Hal, couldnât help but think : âFirst, heâs not a vampire, then, heâs married with children, and now, he has that cute baby. This guy ??!!âÂ
***********
The initial shocked passed, and only after your children MOCKED all of your friends (you had to give it to Dick, he knew how to imitate them so well..and when Damian joined in ? Oh, oh it was a fit of laughter impossible to fight that attacked them), did they approach your daughter.Â
âHer name is Martha.â Bruce said âWe named her after my mother.â and it wasnât his usual flat tone he used as Batman. No, it was a soft voice he usually only reserved for his kids. And the reason he was using it now ? Well. He didnât want to scare his daughter, as he still held her.Â
She beamed at him when she heard her name, and babbled some baby nonsense. She then turned towards all those new faces, and you saw Bruceâs hand hold her a little tighter.Â
Your beautiful, sweet soul husband. He clearly was worried sheâd be scared, meeting all those new people. Especially since they all wore mask. But Martha-
Martha let go of her bat plushy (which Damian caught before it touched the floor, rolling on the ground in a way you thought was quite comedic. Oh, that boy), and lifted her arms up towards-Â
âWhat a sweet little girl !â Diana said with a voice you NEVER heard her use. You realized it was her âvoice reserved for babies and domestic animalsâ, and it made you smile. It was higher than her usual voice, and full of softness.Â
You thought your daughter reached for her because she could feel the warmness in your friend. And after all, amongst all of those gathered here today, she was probably the one that adored babies the most.Â
Diana looked at Bruce, who only inclined his head a little to give her the ok to lift her from his arms but-
Another arm stopped her, and took the baby away.Â
Damian.Â
Damian, the one who took his role as a big brother a little too seriously.Â
He held Martha protectively against him, and literally sneered at all your friends.Â
************
Damian deemed most of them unworthy to hold his baby sister, and only Clark ended up being allowed to carry her. And that was partly because Clark was the only one who knew about Martha, the only one who saw her already, and he had months to convince your son to trust him with her.Â
Being an extremely close friend and all, you just couldnât hide this from him and... no, really, you literally couldnât hide this from him as he was the immediately noticed that second heartbeat when he listened in to make sure you and your family were safe. Bruce hated when he did that, but Clark wasnât about to let them be in danger without moving an inch.
Anyway, Clark was allowed to hold her, but he gave her back to you rather quickly because your sonâs stare made him uncomfortable. If eyes could kill, right ?Â
Damian took his job as an older brother very seriously. He would protect her at all cost. And you had no doubt that he would be the kind of person to burn the entire world down if it meant saving his family.Â
Damian only glared at everyone, letting them approach ONLY after they put on a surgical mask so they wouldnât give her their âviruses or whateverâ.Â
You had to admit he was a bit much, and you asked him nicely to calm down a little. He relented on the face masks, but made them all wash their hands (twice).Â
You ruffled his hair affectionately, what a sweet little boy. It broke your heart, how so many people judged him too fast. He really was, a nice kid. With a heart of gold. He just didnât have much luck for the first few years of his life.Â
But he chose to be like this. Chose to love, instead of hate. Chose to protect, instead of attacking.Â
Although, right now, as Diana came back towards his sister, he definitely seems ready to high kick her (which definitely wouldnât have hurt the amazon).Â
************
It was a hassle, to convince Damian to let go of his sister so they could hold her. As per usual, itâs Dick who managed to convince him, saying Martha was all soft and cute, and everyone deserved to hold her at least once. Adding that if one of them dropped her, he would be allowed to do whatever he wanted to them.Â
Some of the mightiest heroes of the planet were gathered hear, but the threat didnât fall on deaf ears. Damian could be a little intense, and scary sometimes.Â
They werenât fooled by Dickâs agreeable smile either. A smile that didnât always reach his eyes. They knew if they messed up, he would find every way to rip them to shreds. Dick was often seen as the calmest of your children, but his anger issues from when he was a child were never far. And he could be ruthless. Â
Diana held her first, and your daughter babbled to her excitedly.Â
Of course, being only 4 months old, she just talked gibberish. And it was so sweet, how Diana answered her :Â âWhat ? *babbles from your daughter* Noooooo. *more babbles from your daughter* I canât believe he said that. And then what ? *babbles babbles babbles*â.Â
After that, Dick took her back, and asked if someone else wanted to hold her, under yours and Bruceâs watchful eyes.Â
Then again, in the room, many were also already parents and knew how to hold a baby. They werenât too worried, except-
Except Dick, that little sh-, had found a new game in recent weeks. Whenever he gave his little sister to someone else...he pretended to drop her.Â
And it made him laugh and laugh and laugh, to give mini-heart attacks to EVERYONE whenever he gave them his baby sister to them, as they always all panicked and screamed seeing her dropped (Dick always had her secure, he only pretended to drop her of course).Â
âOh no careful !â Heâd scream, dropping his arms suddenly (she looooved it) while still gripping her, and theyâd scramble to catch her, and he would just laugh.Â
âYou little-â Halâs colorful words were...imaginative. And Damian was inclined to agree, since his brother pranked him oh, I donât know, only about A HUNDRED TIMES since their little sister was born.Â
You wouldnât admit it, but it made you laugh a little too. Even if he got you a few times as well, pretending he was going to drop her. Then again, you trusted your eldest son. Once you and Bruce wouldnât be around anymore, you knew he would hold this family together.Â
************
Martha was a calm baby. She let people hold her, curious enough to not fuss and watch them all intently. It made Barry uncomfortable, how she held his gaze and would just stare at him.Â
She would stare, and stare, and stare, and her bright blue eyes were EXACTLY like Bruceâs, it felt like being stared down by a miniature version of Batman.Â
He didnât like it. So he gave her back to whomever was closest, which happened to be Jason
Jason, who was always very delicate with his little sister. He handled her as if heâd break her. It broke your heart, to know he probably literally thought that.Â
He refused to hold her at first, sure he would hurt her. But she kept reaching for him, crying when he wouldnât take her, and she was so adorable and-
He caved, of course. After a little while. And he was oh, the fixture of a patient older brother. You knew he would ALWAYS be part of her life, and step in whenever she needed to.Â
Right now, she was grabbing his hair, which were getting quite long, and pulling hard on them as babies do and- He didnât say anything. He just let her do it.Â
You really hoped she wasnât going to take advantage of this when sheâd get older, even if you already had visions of her having her brothers and father wrapped around her little finger, having her sister too, and...apparently, the entirety of the JLA.Â
************
âHow can such an a-hole make such a cute baby ?â Hal said, looking at the little girl he held. She was sort of dozing off, which for sure was adorable.Â
Bruce only glared at him, which amused Hal greatly. He just gave him the shock of his life, he could laugh at his expense a little, right ?Â
âI believe, to make a baby, you need to-â
âUm, no, Jon, please, I know how to ! Itâs just-Oh, forget it.âÂ
Flustered, Hal Jordan was flustered. Jon Jâonzz didnât seem to get why, but then again, human sarcasms and irony were still very foreign to him. He always answered pragmatically to people.Â
Talking about pragmatism. Hal handed back your daughter to Tim, who slipped her in his favorite new contraption : the baby carrier 3.0 (of his own design). Made so he could do all sort of work while having her strapped to him. Keeping an eye on her at all time.Â
Tim adopted the use of a baby carrier, so he could still work while taking care of her (he stole the idea from his dad, who definitely hung around with his daughter EVERYWHERE with that thing...which was the most adorable thing youâve ever seen, this tall broad man and this tiny baby attached to his chest).Â
It was so cute to see her little feet dangling while he was working. Damian nearly lost it when he found Tim WELDING two pieces of metal together with the baby carrier on his front. Tim merely said :Â âI made her baby sized goggles and a fireproof pyjama, sheâs fine, and she likes itâ and indeed, your daughter didnât have a scratch, and cried when Damian hauled her away from the sparks. Ooooh the smug look on Timâs face as his brother gave her back reluctantly. Damianâs was utterly vexed.Â
Vexation he forgot just a few minutes later, when Martha decided she had enough of sparkles and made little sounds of protest (not quite cries), and reached her little arms to him.Â
As of now, Tim had her in this baby carrier again, and was strolling around the JLA headquarters, showing his new little sister to everyone.Â
************
Cassandra didnât say a word, as per usual. She never liked big crowds, only spoke to those she trusted the most. Her brothers, her parents.Â
She only gestured to others. Remained quiet. But she monitored every little movements.Â
Hawkgirl approached her sister ? Noted. Carefully studying every move. Martian Manhunter asked if he could hold her ? Noted.Â
Superman made little babbling sound at her, while her dad held her ? Noted, with amusement. It was funny, to see one of Earthâs mightiest hero grimacing to a baby to make it laugh, while said baby was held by another mighty hero who was utterly stoned face. Cassâ smiled at her dad, who smiled back for a fraction of seconds before Clark shifted his head up to look at him too, and Bruce went back to his :Â â -_-â face, by reflex really.Â
Cassandra never spoke much, but she loved a lot. And her way of loving her little sister ? It was to always keep a watchful eye on her, so she could react to whatever she needed. And give her space when she needed to.Â
She had many brothers, she often joked that if she lost one, she could just replace him (a joke you didnât like much, because you knew it was just a self-defense from her, to shield her heartbreak at the mere idea of loosing a sibling), but only had one sister...
Yes. Your youngest child definitely held a special place in everyoneâs heart.Â
And you could see her slowly creep in every membersâ of the Justice Leagueâs heart too.Â
Gods, you couldnât even imagine what would happen to the person who would one day try to hurt her. You could bet, though, he wouldnât get out of it unscathed (to say the least).Â
************
Martha was particularly fond of Dukeâs inuit kiss. He had the capacity to instantly calm her, and he could easily feel her inner emotions.Â
As she was passed around everyone, and she started to be tired and cranky, he simply retrieved her and brought her to Bruce, because he knew that was her preferred spot to fall asleep.Â
He kissed her on the forehead, and sure enough, she was asleep before he could pull away. Your husband put a warm hand on Dukeâs head, a warm smile on his face. That boy could always tell what others felt. It was a gift, really, and sometimes a curse as othersâ feelings could leak into him. Which is to say that sometimes, when others were sad, he would be too...
But for now, he felt content. At peace. Because his dad was, too.Â
And indeed, Bruce, holding his sleeping daughter against his heart, his hand supporting her head gently, was utterly at peace.Â
He loved the idea that his arms were his daughterâs favorite place to sleep, and never refused to hold her to help her sleep. You sure were a little jealous, but he told you :Â âThey all always come to you when they need comfort, one kid out of six, you surely can give me, right ?â and though you knew he was joking, it broke your heart a little.Â
So, you let go of your jealousy, and let him have this indeed. Martha was definitely a daddyâs girl. And that was good. You could see the impact on your husband, how having a baby in the house soothed him.Â
He loved his kids so damn much. He often said they were his lights. And the fact Martha found comfort with him ?Â
It reminded him of his own parents. How he would go to his mom, a Martha too, to find the same comfort. To fall asleep in the same way.Â
You let go of that small jealousy, as you saw her falling soundly asleep, cuddled up against her dad. And it was funny, how Bruce would take his usual Batman persona, stone faced, standing straight and-Â
Having one of two fingers held tightly by both of his daughterâs little hands. She grabbed them as he took her, one hand holding her (she was so tiny...and he was a big dude), the other, she used as a sort of comfort plushy. She held them with all her might, as she slept.Â
And Bruce was speaking battle plans, and you had to fight the laughter in you as all your friends couldnât help but stare at the scene, not knowing how to feel.Â
Hal snickered at one point, and he made a gesture for him to zip it, and it was quite an odd scene, as he held his daughter and did that childish gesture.Â
Seriously. That guy !!Â
************
Batman smiling was...different.Â
They all got caught staring at him, when he had his daughter in his arms. Staring because his broad smile was-
Well. Broad.Â
It wasnât his signature smirk. It wasnât a soft smile. It wasnât a half-smile. It wasnât a smile that you could only see in his eyes.Â
It was a full on big ass smile (as Barry would say).Â
And sure, they already saw him smile like that (although he schooled his face back to âstone modeâ when he noticed them looking), never that much.Â
As if the birth of his daughter gave Batman another new light, and it was just impossible to yield to his old demon, to brood, when holding that ray of sunshine.Â
It made them all feel...soft. And warm.Â
It was nice, to know the bat wasnât just a machine. They forgot it sometimes, that he was, in the end, âjustâ a man. They forgot why he became Batman. The pain and guilt he held inside. But moments like this, they were reminded of it.Â
That the Batman didnât exist because of hatred, but because of love.Â
Because he loved his parents, his city, and now-Â
His family.Â
It was nice, to get reminded that there was a man below the mask. And though he could be an âa-holeâ sometimes, there, holding his baby, he was just that.Â
A loving man, who wanted to protect others.Â
************
You made a note of every moments you would cherish forever of you introducing your daughters to them all :Â
1. The shock on their faces as they beheld the sight of THE BATMAN holding a baby against him, and being so delicate.Â
2. Your daughter being the star of the show, all of them smitten with her !
3. Your friends wanting to hold her, and how they beamed at her (and she beamed back, except with Barry, whom she only stared at for some reasons).Â
4. Dickâs âgameâ of pretending he dropped her, and their panicked reaction.Â
5. The success of Timâs baby carrier, and how now, there was always one up in the tower.Â
6. Diana and how it definitely seemed like she would move mountain for that child.Â
7. How Clarkâs eyes filled with tears again, as he looked at Martha. Because it made his friends so happy. You and Bruce. And especially Bruce. And Clark was an emotional man, who suffered too, and was just so happy âThe Batmanâ was happy.Â
8. How Jason seemed at peace with his little sister, and how whenever he held her, he seemed less weary than usual around everyone. Like Cass, he didnât like much being amongst too many people. But now, it felt like he had an âemotional support babyâ. Ah.Â
9. Their reactions, past the shock, welcoming that new life in the world.Â
10. How Bruce monitored his daughter being held by his friends, holding your hand. Even after all those years, when he acted close to you in his Batman costume, it made you...feel things. He always kept a facade as Batman. A facade that would crumble with his kids, and especially with you. PDA werenât rare. And even after years at his side, it always made your heart beat wildly when he showed affection towards you in public, because it meant-Â
Oh it meant so much.Â
And you had so many more moments forever ingrained in your heart from that day spend up at the JLAâs headquarters.Â
Too many to count. Some sweet, some hilarious-Â
All positive feelings.Â
And as you and your family stepped back in the zeta tubes, your friends saying âbyyyyyeâ to Martha especially, with their baby voice (making Bruce roll his eyes), and as she waved at them-Â
Waved for the FIRST TIME ever oh.Â
Oh it felt like you would die of happiness.Â
And still, Bruceâs hands held yours tightly.Â
He knew.Â
He knew, you were the source of this happiness he thought he could never find again.Â
He knew.Â
He never loved like that before.Â
Yes. It felt like you could just die of happiness.

And here we are. I hope you enjoyed this. Donât hesitate to comment and/or reblog, itâs always greatly appreciated :).Â
Also, initially, the child was going to be Thomas (their son in my âmainâ storyline, if you already read a few works from me), but last minute, I was like : âwait no, I want to give Bruce a daughter, and the boys a sister. Also, poor Cass eh ?â and here we are. I really hope you liked this; Iâm nervous for some reasons. Anyway. See you soon with another one ?Â

// masterlist // send me your thoughts // comments & reblogs appreciated! //
As if the prospect of a marriage tour was not horrid enough, your first stop was proving to be positively dreadful. Â
You had imagined the lands surrounding the Trident to be beautiful. A lush, verdant landscapeâfilled with fragrant herbs and bright, blooming flowers, painting the Riverlands in rich, colorful hues. You pictured babbling streams and plush grass, stunning castles and, perhaps, some equally as stunning men. Â
What you hadnât imagined, however, was the weather. Â
Even from within the confines of Riverrunâthe ancestral castle of House Tullyâyou still feel the effects of the merciless heat beating down upon the sandstone walls. Â
Your handmaids had tried to dress you accordingly, stuffing you into your thinnestâand, consequently, your least regalâgown, in hopes that it might prevent sunstroke. Yet still, even as three of Lord Tullyâs own servants try fanning you while you sulk in the dining hall, you feel as though every inch of your body is drenched in sticky sweat. Â
âThis is miserable,â you groan to Ser Lorent, the Kingsguard who had been assigned to your tour. Flanking your right, you spare the knight a pitiful, sidelong glance. âI believe I would sooner die a spinster than be forced to live in this sweltering purgatory!â Â
The servants, haphazardly positioned around the table, remain utterly stone-faced, not letting on if they found your comment about their homelands to be humorous or offensive. Â
Ser Lorent merely laughs. âThe Riverlands are known for their humid summers, princess.â With a wink, he adds, âIf you ever bothered with your studies, you would know this.â Â
âI study!â Â
âWith the blade, perhaps,â Ser Lorent muses, his teal eyes twinkling with lighthearted mockery. âBut certainly not with books, princess. Â
Rolling your eyes, you slump further into your chair, your body practically melting into the upholstery. âLeave the geography lessons to Jace,â you tell him, waving an idle hand. âAfter all, he's the heir to the Iron Throne. I am merely the prized broodmareââ focusing on your plate, and the half-eaten lunch upon it, you try swallowing the bitter tang now filling your mouthââa royal womb to be sold off to the highest bidder.â Â
And, at times, you arenât even sure if that is considered an honest truth⊠Youâve certainly never felt royal. Â
Like your brothers, you were born extraordinarily plain-featured. With no silver hair or lilac eyes, you appear more like a common-born peasant than someone of prized Valyrian stockâand it didnât help that, unlike your brothers, you had no dragon, either. Â
Ser Lorent watches as you absently push a piece of seared cod around your plate, sighing. âThat isnât true, my princess.â His words are tinged with sympathy. âYou are being sold to no one. Your mother wishes for you to have a marriage born of loveânot duty.â Â
âAh, yes,â stabbing the fish with the prongs of your fork, you bring it to your lips, âwhich is why Iâm being forced to spend my summer meeting with the haughty sons of fat country lordsâfor love.â Â
His tongue clicks with disapproval. âYour mother has given you a choice in selecting your own husband, princess; which is a luxury not granted to many women.â Â
Frowning, you pop the piece of fish into your mouth, turning his words over in your head. Â
Gods. Â
You hate it when heâs right. Â
âFine,â you relent, still chewing. Turning sideways in your chair, you raise your fork to him in a mock threat, âBut my earlier statement stands! If I must take a husband, then it certainly wonât be anyone from hereâlest I become no more than a puddle of sweat.â Â
Ser Lorent cracks a smile at you. âShould you turn to a puddle, princess, then I vow to mop you from the floor.â Â
âHow valiant of you, Ser Lorent,â you laugh. âIâm unsure of how I might ever repay you for such loyalty.â Â
âIâm not sure you have to worry about that, princessâI donât believe that puddles are much concerned with matters of debt.â Â
Turning back to the table, another soft laugh spills from your lips. âI suppose youâre right, Ser.â Â
All too soon, however, your amusement begins to fade. A warm breeze blows in through the many open windows lining Riverrunâs dining hall, the stifling air only accentuating the stickiness of your skin. Â
Sucking in a deep, heavy breath, you ask, âHow long do we have?â Â
Ser Lorent doesnât ask for clarification, knowing almost at once what you were asking him. âWeâre expected back in the Great Hall in a little under an hour, princess.â Â
You blow the breath out, groaning slightly. Â
An hourâthat's all the time you had left before you would be forced back upon the dais, expected to once again smile and be cordial as men and boys from all across the Riverlands made their case for your hand. Â
How many of them could possibly be left? This morning alone you had met with dozens upon dozens of them, their voices all blurring into a monotonous hum as they spoke of the history of their Housesâif one can consider nonsensical legends from the ancient Age of Heroes as true history, that is. Â
Noticing the dreadful pall cast over you, Ser Lorent clamps a comforting hand on your shoulder. âHow about a walk before we go back? It might help to clear your head,â he suggests. Then, with a wry grin, âPerhaps you might wish to think back on the men from this morningâsee if any of them might make you change your tune about life in the Riverlands.â Â
You pin him with a playful scowl. âThereâs not a man alive that could change that tune,â you vow. âBut youâre rightâa walk might be nice.â Â
Rising from your seat, the servants around you lower their fans, silently dismissing themselves. Â
âWill you be accepting my company on this walk?â Ser Lorent teasesâthough you know what heâs really asking is: will you be accepting my protection. Â
âAfter this morning, I believe Iâve had enough company for a lifetime.â Â
The knightâs brow draws tight, an apprehensive frown beginning to pull at the corners of his lips. You roll your eyes. Â
âOh, donât worry so much, Ser Lorent. It gives you wrinkles,â you tease. Adjusting the slit running along one side of your dress, you reveal the dagger holstered on your thigh. âI assure you that if any of these Riverlanders dare lay a hand on me, theyâll lose some fingers.â Â
Ser Lorent snorts, head shaking. âItâs not you I worry about, princess,â he jokingly admits. âJust stay close by, understand? Your mother will have my head if anything happens to you.â Â
âYes, yesâunderstood,â you dramatically gripe, already walking past him to the exit. Â
âOh, and princess?â He calls out just as the guards pull the doors open for you to leave. You glance over your shoulder at him, brows lifted. âAt least try not to injure anyone.â Â
With one last roll of your eyes, bright with mischief, you shout on your way out, âNo promises, Ser Lorent!â Â
Wandering through the outer yards of Riverrun, the blistering sun beating down upon your skin, you find yourself overwhelmed by a sudden ache in your chest. Â
You miss home. Desperately. Â
You miss Dragonstoneâs near-constant cover of clouds, forever shielding you from the heat. You miss the cool breeze rolling in off the Blackwater, the air peppering your cheeks with salty kisses. Â
But even as you dream of a reprieve from the muggy Riverlands, you canât help but miss your familyâyour brothersâmost of all. Â
Perhaps it is that feeling that led you here, to the training yard, guided by the familiar lull of splintering wood and steel slicing through the air, the sound offering a much-needed remedy to the homesickness twisting in your gut. Â
Smaller than the one at Dragonstone, Riverrunâs yard was no more than a cramped stretch of dusty-dirt, lined with old training dummies and archery targets. Mostly encircled by the towering sun-bleached stones of the castles, only a small part of the yard remained open to the sprawling gardens beyond, sectioned off by ornate iron fencing. Â
Striding over the open gate, your attention falls upon the lone boy standing in the yard's center. Â
As the sunlight beats down overhead, long shadows dance around his feet as he glides through a set of movementsâeach step calculated, every strike deliberate. Â
You step closer, keeping your steps light as you approach. With his back turned to you, you watch as sweat drips down his neck, glistening. It soaks into his tunic, the thin black material clinging to his lean, muscled back. Â
Heâs talentedâyou think, studying his form. Â
Talent is something you're familiar withâintimately. You were raised around warriorsâtrained by the Rogue Prince himself. Yet never before had you found yourself so utterly bewitched by a fighter. Â
He didnât move like other boys. Â
He wasted no time on the flowery style displayed by so many summer childrenâthe ones who thought of battle as a performance rather than a matter of life or death. Â
Instead, he moved with the lethal prowess of an apex predatorâhis blade cutting through the air with a controlled ferocity that, while lacking the flourish of other warriors, was undeniably impressive. Â
Dirt flies as he throws himself into another set of movementsâa series of strikes and parries, executing with unbelievable precision. With every twist and pivot, muscles tense and shift beneath his tunic, his body as powerful a weapon as his sword. Â
He lunges forwardâand wood cracks! as he slashes his blade along the belly of one of the dummies, a move that would have disemboweled a living opponent. Â
Cutting through the sudden stillness, you bring your hands up to your chest, filling the yard with a slow clap. Back still turned to you, the boy's spine goes ramrod straight at the unexpected sound. Â
âImpressive,â you muse, taking another step towards him. Mere feet remain between the two of you, now. âYou move wellâbetter than most, Iâd say.â Â
The boy spins around to face you, his once elegant movements now blundering as he nearly trips over his own feet. Biting your tongue, you try to hold in a laugh. Â
Big, storm-cloud eyes meet your gaze, pinning you in place as he blinks, visibly thrown-off by your presence. âSorry-â he stammers, out of breath. âI didnât think anyone else would be coming out here-â Â
You lift a hand, cutting him off with a smile. âOh, noâdonât apologize on my account! I enjoyed the show,â you tell him. âSeems that you have a real talent for swordplay.â Â
His cheeks flush, his lightly sun-kissed skin turning a stark crimson. âThanks.â His laugh is a nervous, awkward thingâendearing, too. He sticks a hand out towards you, the other still limply holding his sword. âBenjicot. Blackwood,â he introduces himself, fumbling over his words, âbut you can call me Ben or Benjiâor anything, really.â Â
You take his hand, biting your lip to mask your amusement. âPleasure to meet you, Benji.â Â
A beat of silence passes before confusion finally tugs at his features, his hand falling back to his side. âUhmââ another sweet, awkward laughâ âand you areâŠ?â Â
Realization dawns on you, leaving your brows to shoot up to your hairline. Â
Seven Hells. He doesn't know, does he?
A sudden speechlessness grabs hold of your tongue. Â
You suppose you shouldnât be surprisedâafter all, you aren't what many expected of a Targaryen princess.
Plain-featured and dressed in thin, common clothes, you imagine you likely appear no different than the servants surrounding you at lunch, fanning you to keep the heat from going to your head. Â
Even so, it's rare that you met someone who doesn't know who you are. And, selfishly, after a morning filled with insincere compliments from haughty Lordâs, you like the idea of remaining namelessâtitlelessâfor the first time in your life. Â
âWowâsorryâthat was thoughtless of me, wasnât it?â Tapping a finger to your temple, you laugh. âIâm Mylissa,â you lie, stealing the name of one of your handmaidens. âMylissa Strong.â Â
âStrong?â He echoes, brow furrowing. âStrangeâyou donât sound like youâre from the Riverlands. Your accent isââ Â
âSouthern?â Â
Benji nods. Â
âWell, Iâve spent the better part of my life in the Crownlands, so I suppose Iâve picked up their accent,â you explain. âIâm here with the princess, actuallyâas her lady-in-waiting.â Â
The mention of the princessâyouâturns his skin a pasty white. Â
Keeping a tight leash on your curiosity, you try not to sound too intrigued when you ask, âAnd what about you? Raventree Hall is a decent ride from here, is it not?â On horseback, the ancestral seat of House Blackwood was two days away from Riverrun, if not three. âAre you here to meet with the princess?â Â
Benji shifts his weight, leaning from one foot to the other. âSupposed to,â he begins, his words tumbling out, âbut I donât knowâIâm not so sure that Iâll go through with it.â Â
Your expression falters, disappointment washing over you like a cold wave, combatting the intolerable warmth of the sun. Â
âWhy not?â Â
He shrugsâa timid, shy gesture that feels so unlike the predator you had snuck up on. âThere are over a hundred men in there,â he waves an arm to the castle, to the Great Hall within, âall waiting for an opportunity to impress the princessâmeanwhile, I can hardly get out a single sentence without choking on my own spit.â Â
Your laughter bubbles up involuntarily, a few giggles spilling past your lips. The Blackwood boy shoots you a playful glare from beneath long, dark lashes. Â
âWell,â you begin, absentmindedly toeing the dirt between you, âperhaps the princess might find it endearing, donât you think?â Â
Benji scoffs. âDoubtful. I mean, think about it!âsheâs a princess!â Â
Your eyes widen, glimmering with mock-offense. âAnd what is that supposed to mean?â Â
Once again, that crimson tinge returns to his skin, crawling up his neck, this time. Â
âI meant no offense,â he defends himself, mistaking your expression for one of a Lady meaning to defend her princess. âBut what could I possibly offer a princess?â Â
You tilt your head, pretending to think on his words. âWell, the Blackwoods do have a history of being valiant warriors, do they not? And you seem to be quite skilled yourself,â you say, daring to let your stare drift down to his arms, the short sleeves of his tunic revealing well-muscled, sweat-slick biceps. Â
He snorts. âIâm willing to guess that the princess would likely care naught for my skill with a sword.â Â
âThen you would guess wrong,â you retort, a faint, teasing smile on your lips. âMany say that the princess herself is quite skilled with a bladeâI imagine she would quite like a boy thatâs capable of challenging her.â Â
Benjiâs eyes darken a shade, an unreadable expression crossing his features. âAnd what about you, Mylissa?â Â
The false name catches you off-guard, but you do your best to hide it. Â
âWhat of me?â Â
A bit nervous, he asks, âWould you like a boy that can challenge you?â Â
Your heart stutters in your chestâskipping several beats as his stare lowers, dipping past your waist and falling upon your thigh. On the dagger sheathed there, no doubt. Â
Heat begins to crawl up your neck, hotter even than the sun's blistering rays. âOhââ You stutter, words lost upon you. Â
Itâs true that you were used to the attention of men. After all, your morning has been filled with it, and soon enough the rest of your day will be, too. Â
But this was different. Â
Benji wasnât giving you attention because youâre a princess, a mere royal womb to strengthen his Houseâs bloodline. Rather, he was doing it simply because he wanted toâa feeling that was utterly foreign to you. Â
Wiping a clammy hand on his sweaty tunic, Benji misreads your silence, taking a half-step back. âApologies, my Ladyâthat was too forward and-â Â
You donât let him finish his rambling. Taking a step forward, you close the gap he sought to create between you. âIâll make you a deal.â Â
âA deal?â Â
You nod. âAs you know, the princess will be in the Great Hall for the rest of the evening, holding court with the other Lordâs whoâve come for her hand. I'd like for you to meet with her.â Â
Benji cocks his head, confusion crinkling the corners of his eyes. âI truly mean no disrespect to your princess, my Lady, but I was asking if you might be interested inââ Â
âI know what youâre asking, Benji.â You lift one shoulder in a casual shrug. âAnd after you meet with the princess, if you still wish to inquire about my hand,â you say, placing a palm to your chest, âthen I will happily hear you out.â Â
In the distance, a bell sounds outâsignaling the time, you realize. Â
âIf youâll excuse me,â you start, already taking a few small half-steps backwards. âIâm expected inside.â Â
Letting his sword drop to the ground, Benji lunges forward to catch your wrist. âSo you agree to meet with me after court, then?â Â
âIf youâre still interested,â you muse, a tinge of anxiety laced through your tone, âthen yes.â Â
The corners of his lips twitch into a bashful smile. âI give you my word thatââ Â
You planned to interrupt him. To tell him not to make oaths he wasnât certain he could keep, knowing that he may very well change his mind about you once he realizes who you areâthat youâre not technically a Strong. But, before you can, another voice intervenes. Â
âPrincess!â Ser Lorent calls out, exasperated, as he walks through the gate. âWe must hurry, princess,â he continues, pausing only to give a wary glance at Benjiâs hands wrapped around your wrist. âWeâre late.â Â
Your pulse begins to pound, a surge of adrenaline coursing through your veins at being exposed as a liar by Ser Lorent.Â
Benjiâs face goes blankâthen his eyes go wide, big as saucers as you snag your wrist from his grip. Â
âPrincess...â He utters, voice laden with disbelief. âPrincess?!â Â
You can hardly bring yourself to do anything other than grin stupidly at him, nearly stumbling over yourself as you back-up to where Ser Lorent is waiting impatiently. Â
âIt was lovely meeting you, Benji!â Â
You hope he can hear just how genuine your words are. Â
âIâll see you in the Great Hall,â you call out over your shoulder, sparing him one last glance as Ser Lorent guides you to the gate, watching as he blinks in astonishment, still processing the revelation. Â
Walking back towards the inner-castle, Ser Lorent glances down at you with a knowing look. âYou seem giddy.â Thereâs a teasing glint to his words that makes you roll your eyes, cheeks flushing. âSo,â he continues, his brisk pace never faltering, âdoes this mean that your statement from lunch no longer stands? That, perhaps, this sweltering purgatory may yet grow on you?â Â
You bite your cheek, a permanent grin still etched onto your face. Â
âLetâs just say that Iâve decided itâs best to keep my options open, Ser Lorent.â Â
a/n - you may ask yourself: lainie, why would you refer to him as mostly BEN in the last fic and BENJI in this one??
and the answer? I have not ONE clue. my brain is rotting and benji is cute.
anyways, hope you guys enjoy this one! feel like I got to explore more of his personality here. additionally, I need HBO to know that if this boy ends up not being benjicot blackwood then I'm gonna fucking riot

Sylus
Summary: Sylus struggles to put your baby girl to sleep.
Warnings: Pure Fluff
Discord +18 - Twitter - Ko-Fi - Bluesky
Youâve never thought youâd find Sylus in this situation. Youâve pictured your husband doing a lot of thingsâ But this? Never in a million years.Â
You want to step into the room, but you canât allow yourself to interrupt. The scene fills your stomach with butterflies, and reminds you why you fell for him all over again. The man really has a softer side that many donât get to witness. You see it often; but no one will see it as much as her.
âTwinkle, twinkleâ I guess you donât like it.â Sylusâ singing is cut off by his babyâs cries. Heâs rocking her back and forth, hoping to get his baby girl to fall asleep. He promised you that heâd take over so you could take the night off, but tonight his babygirl is as energetic as ever.
Though the singing stops, the crying doesnât. He shushes her before telling her, âI promise I wonât sing again.â
The shrill cries stop, but his babyâs eyes are still wide open. Sheâs a difficult one to fall asleep, and he knows exactly who she got that from. Offering money wonât work with her yet, so heâs forced to play a waiting game.Â
âIâm trying to spend time with your mom, love. Câmon, help me out.â She laughs at the tired look on her fatherâs face, and Sylus canât help but smile. Sheâs laughing at his misery, but at least itâs a cute laugh.
âIâll get payback one day.â Sylus says as he lifts her in the air before blowing a raspberry on her tummy. Another laugh comes from the little one. He kisses her chubby cheeks, pure joy overtaking him.Â
âYouâre lucky youâre cute, Iâd be mad otherwise.â He tells her, earning a coo from the energetic girl. He chuckles.
âI can handle her.â You finally step into the room, cutting off the sweet moment between Sylus and your baby girl. You donât want him to get frustrated with her, even when he looks overjoyed to just hold her.
âItâs fine.â Sylus assures you. Heâs smiling down at her. âI can handle my little sweetheart.â

i hate supernatural. like, really. it's so woven into my brain, threaded through the wrinkles in my brain, that i see or hear certain things that have NOTHING to do with spn in the real world and my brain goes OH SPN!!!
#spn#like i have this original story i've been re developing#and there's this character named jack who was around LLLLOOOONNNNNGGGGG before jack kline was even a twinkle in singer's eye#if anything he was named after o'neill#from stargate#ANYWAY#and i'm re developing this story and think hm what if jack's a god#so i write that down#and then i'm re reading my notes and see jack and god in the same sentence#and lose all hope for myself and my sanity
